3.5-4 stars. Overall a very sweet and youthful romance, and Cass is a smart, strong character. Love triangles are tricky, and this one was a little less developed than I would have liked (it took a long time for Perry to seem likable after his initial actions towards Cass). It's a decent follow up to Shipped and I'll read more from Hockman.

This is such a unique and interesting premise, so I had high hopes, but the characters and execution of the plot were lacking. There wasn’t a lot of personality to the characters, especially the male ones, and I felt like I could have swapped their dialogue and it wouldn’t have made a difference since there was a sameness to everyone. And the side plot/twist with the coworker was weird and then resolved so abruptly in the epilogue.

I adored Angie Hockman. Her stories are well written and witty. Super funny, lighthearted reads. A new autobuy author for me.

If I wasn’t trying to review this, it would have been a strong DNF from me. I loved Shipped, so I was disappointed in this one. I’m not a huge fan of love triangles, especially with brothers. I also didn’t enjoy that most of the book was Cass with the “wrong” brother. I loved the idea of this book, but the way it was adapted wasn’t for me.

So, let's just jump right into it. I'm not usually a fan of love triangles in romance. I find them frustrating. But because I loved Shipped and Angie Hockman so much, I knew I could trust her. I loved the magical elements in this book and its reflections on fate. Cass Walker ends up meeting the man of her coma dreams, and discovering he is real. As their relationship grows, Cass also gets to know his brother, Perry. You can see where this is going... I enjoyed this book. Not only for the relationships, but also her journey as a career woman and interning as a lawyer. This book was definitely a journey and worth the read.

What would you do if your dream man turned out to be real?

When law grad Cass Walker wakes up after surviving a car accident, she is flooded with memories of a man named Devin. The only problem? Devin—as confirmed by family, friends, and doctors—doesn’t exist. Everything about him, from his coffee-brown eyes to the slightly crooked angle of his pinkie to his high-wattage charm, is a figment of Cass’s coma-addled imagination. Still, she can’t get him out of her head.

So when she happens upon the real Devin a year later in a Cleveland flower shop, she’s completely shocked. Even more surprising is that Devin actually believes her story, and despite his protective younger brother’s doubts, they soon embark on a real-life romance. With her dream man by her side and a new job at a prestigious law firm, Cass’s future seems perfect. But fate might have other plans...

From the beloved author of Shipped comes a magical and witty romantic comedy that explores what happens when our dreams come true—even when they’re not the ones we expect.

Such a cute, fun read! Fans of Angie Hockman’s Shipped will be in for a treat with her newest release!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish and thought the premise of this book was one of the most unique I have read in a while.

I loved this cute book! I enjoyed Shipped, so was excited to get an advanced copy of Dream On - and I adored Dream On so much more than Shipped.

While the premise can seem a bit ridiculous, I think it is so well done. The relationships are believable and the core romance was developed so well. I also enjoyed the dichotomy between the floral shop and the lawyer office - it can us some fun workplace settings, that were wildly different.

Also, I adored the epilogue, but can understand why some readers were taken aback by the sudden open door scene (which was so well written, imo).

This book was everything I wanted it to be. It had me turned pages without even realizing. It was so good!

3.5 stars rounded up to 4 for GR and NetGalley.

This is a sweet, but predictable romcom read. While I enjoy Angie Hockman's writing style a lot, I wasn't super blown away by this one. I do think this book hits a lot of notes that a romcom reader wants in their story.

My biggest issue with this one is the epilogue. The entire book is closed door and super sweet then it gets spicy during the epilogue. *cringe* I wish I wouldn't have even read the epilogue. I didn't think it was needed and it felt like someone else wrote it.

Overall I'd recommend this one to someone who enjoys romcoms and wants a sweet, predictable read.

I'm anxious to see what Angie Hockman writes next!!

Loved the concept (a woman in a coma dreams about a man she’s never met and then meets him and his hot brother), hated pretty much everything else. So many badly used tropes especially towards the end.

I loved this book. I loved the story line, the characters, and even the plot twist! Such a cute romance and would make for a cute Hallmark movie!!

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC.

I read Angie Hockman's debut novel, Shipped, last year and I really enjoyed it! So I knew when I saw this new one coming out by her that I had to read it, too! They say don't judge a book by its cover, but when a cover is this gorgeous I think it's safe.

I loved the storylines in this book, the flower shop theme was so fun, and I thoroughly enjoyed the main character being a strong female overcoming so much and working hard to make her dreams come true! While this book is a romance, it does touch on deeper topics and ideas. I love when authors make it about more than just a swoony romance. It gives the book and relationships in more aubstance.family drama added in which help bring substance to the book.

THIS BOOK!!! I was completely invested in this story from the start and it made my heart so happy. Seeing Cass come back from being in a coma and finding the life that makes her happy was so exciting to read. AND THE PLOT TWIST!!! I’m a sucker for a happy ending and this one truly satisfied me to my core. Everyone who loves a heartwarming romance needs to read this book.

This was a really cute, sweet story. It was pretty predictable who the main character would end up with, but I didn’t mind. I wish there was more story with them together. The “twist” with Sadie was also super predictable….but that was fine. The quality of the writing is good. It was easy to slip into the story.

I absolutely adore this cover! It’s one of the cutest I’ve seen recently.

Unfortunately, I had mixed feelings about Dream On and didn’t enjoy it as much as I liked Shipped. For one, I’m never a fan of the love triangle trope. Especially between siblings, it’s just icky to me. I also HATED the name Perry for a love interest, but that’s a me problem. I kept thinking of the platypus or the Scrubs character, neither of which got me in the sexy rom com mood.

I really didn’t like that a miscarriage was used as part of a miscommunication trope. That whole scene made no sense and made me hate Devin.

There were parts I loved, like the save-the-small-business theme and the plant scenes. I also loved Cass’s friendship with Bri! I’ll definitely read books from this author again, this one was just a miss for me personally.

Cass can hear voices, she opens her eyes. Wait, where is she? A hospital? What happened?! Cass has just woke up from being in a coma for 6 days after being in a car accident. Where is her boyfriend Devin? Why hasn't he came to see her at all? No one she is close to has ever heard or seen this supposed boyfriend. Eventually Cass gives up on this man that she thought was real.

A year later, Cass stops into the flower shop, Blooms & Baubles, and meets the owner, Perry. Perry is handsome, kind and she immediately feels a spark with him. But lo' and behold, guess who Perry's brother is? Devin. But Devin has never met Cass before. They do start dating and eventually Cass gets the answers she's been seeking. And she realizes her actual dream man isn't who she thought she was.

Thoughts: I've said it before and I'll say it again... I cannot stand the amnesia trope in a romance novel. To be clear, Dream On takes the amnesia trope and flips it on its head. In fact, it's more of an inception trope, in that the main character, Cass, wakes up from a coma with the memory of a relationship that never happened. But then she runs into her dream beau, Devin, a year later. Oh, fate, you fickle bitch!

I really did enjoy this book, though be forewarned... if you're in the mood for something on the steamy side, this is not the book for you. There's a little bit of spice in the epilogue, but that's it. Angie Hockman's writing style is beautiful, poetic even, and it was easy to fall in love with her characters. Also, how many books take place in Cleveland, Ohio?! All in all, it was a delightful read.

This is really the book that never ends. For a long as it is, you’d think the characters would have been better developed. The chemistry was off and none of them were even likable. Had I not been given an advanced copy, I would have DNF.

I received an advanced copy. All thoughts are my own.

Thank you so much @GalleryBooks & @NetGalley for giving me this eARC in exchange for my honest and unbiased review (Release Date | 05 July 2022)

SYNOPSIS | Cass wakes up from a coma with a surplus of memories about a romantic relationship that she has never actually had, with a guy she has never actually met before. A year after the accident, she is buying flowers when she see's the man of her dreams (Devin) in real life.

WHAT I LIKED:
- I do enjoy a love triangle (although many probably won't enjoy that its between brothers)
- the flower & beer festival sounded absolutely delightful
- the cover is exactly my cup of tea

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
- the "fake" pregnancy & miscarriage plot line that was thrown in insensitively for some drama. It just really rubbed me the wrong way.
- the majority of the book is focused on Cass trying to make it work with the glaring obvious wrong guy which was frustrating to read & made the ultimate relationship feel underdeveloped.
- the epilogue doesn't match the rest of the book in terms of steaminess (its low throughout & then very much not)

What would you do if the man of your dreams is...real!?

After waking up from a 6 day coma, surviving an auto accident, law grad Cass Walker asks for "Devin", her boyfriend.  Only her friends and family have no idea who Devin is.  He doesn't appear to exist with no phone contact or photos in her phone either.  But, Cass has vivid memories of him enough to even draw sketches of him in her notebook.  Imagine the surprise when she's in the local flower shop a year later and the delivery guy is Devin...her Devin.

Will the "real" Devin compare to the Devin in her dreams?

This was a super cute and light hearted romance.  The plot was interesting and had enough little twists to hold my attention.  Cass was super charming.  Devin had his moments and the supporting characters were darling and super loveable.  I especially loved Cass and her best friend Brie and of course Devin's brother Perry.  The overall message of fate isn't always the obvious choice but it may lead you to something better was really inspiring.
