This wasn't a great nor bad read, it lack character development, and it was predictable but it was an easy story with steamy scenes. None of the characters stood out and I will probably forget most of this story very soon. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book received from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I love discovering new authors who are awesome and can deliver a book with all the goodies, and this book does not disappoint. Highly recommended.
This one just wasn’t for me. I couldn’t stay interested and I didn’t like the hero.
I think the author definitely has talent it just wasn’t for me.
Thanks NetGalley
I’m only leaving a review on this site.
The story focuses on martial arts fighter Reid who suffers a serious injury before a major fight. This leads to him needing a physical therapist, and his best friend recommends his younger sister Lucie for the job. Reid doesn't know that he was Lucie's childhood crush. She is interested in someone else, and Reid offers to give her lessons in seduction in exchange for her treating his injury. It was a great read and I definitely liked it. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the copy.
When I am looking for new to me authors I normally look for tropes that I like and this had multiple that I like, specifically a sports romance. This was super quick read for me cause I couldn’t get enough of Lucie and Reid’s relationship, so much so I didn’t want it to end.
What I loved:
- Brothers best friend trope, I am a sucker for this trope but I also like how they have somewhat of a shared history that added more to their relationship
- MMA fighting, normally I have read sports romances with traditional sports but it was fun to have a hero involved in fighting and learning how Reid got into it
- Chemistry, as this story is driven by Reid “coaching” Lucie in the art of seduction the chemistry between the two of them is steamy throughout the entire book
- Epilogue, this book’s epilogue is well into the future and has great callbacks to the main story and that was a refreshing change from usual romance books
Overall, if you are a fan of brothers best friend sports romance books you MUST give this one a try.
I received a complimentary copy of Seducing Cinderella in exchange for an honest review. Loved the preface of the book and the chemistry between Reid and Lucie was engaging and fun to read about. What I didn't enjoy was Reid trying to help Lucie catch "the eye" of a co-worker that never showed any interest in her. This is an old cliche theme, and never one that was appealing. If someone isn't into you then move on because they aren't worth your time. The writing style and the remainder of the novel was worth recommending this book to others.
I wanted to love this one, I really did. The synopsis had me intrigued but unfortunately this one just wasn’t for me.
The story and the characters themselves I had no issue with but there was always a disconnect with this book and the characters due to the fact that it’s in third person point of view. I’m not a fan of third person point of view. It’s really hard for me to connect with the story/characters when it’s not in first person point of view, but that’s just a personal preference of mine. I feel like if it had been in first person then I really would have enjoyed this book and the writing, but as it is I was never able connected with it.
Due to that and potential spoilers I won’t go into any other detail. Though I will say if you are a fan of third person point of view this might just be an amazing read for you.
**Thank you so much to the publisher for the review copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.**
Loved it... I laughed at some parts and fanned my face at others.... Loved the ending... Although I won't spoil it for others I liked how it ended..
I loved this, it is the perfect little romance book that I was looking for and kept me reading from the get-go.
Lucie, a physiotherapist has been crushing on her coworker Stephen for years, he then asks for her best friends number crushing Lucie.
Reid, a patient of Lucie’s, then teaches her how to seduce Stephen - cliche, right?!
Lucie and Reid, I LOVED them. For me, it was couple goals from this book. Lucie is so down to earth, yearning for what her heart desires and Reid, the ultimate gentleman.
I loved reading from different perspectives throughout the book and the romance… fab! It had a rom-com feel to it alongside a good wee bit of smut.
Thank you to Gina and Netgalley for allowing me a copy of this ARC.
“Relax. Cinderella’s supposed to be late to the ball so that everyone notices her when she walks in.”

Lucie is a physiotherapist and has been crushing majorly on coworker Stephen for years. He comes to her office and asks for her best friends number, leaving her in tears after he leaves. Why won’t he notice her? Her next patient turns out to be her teenage crush, MMA boxer Reid. He agrees to teach her how to seduce the good doctor, in exchange for becoming his personal physiotherapist, but what happens when feelings get in the way?
Uhhhhh Lucie and Reid are my favourite characters of this year. They had chemistry from day one. It’s like the current TikTok trend “I tried to kiss my best friend”… It either goes one way or the other! Lucie was incredibly relatable, especially to women who are insecure in their body, she didn’t believe in herself enough and that contributed majorly to how she lived her life. It shows with the right companionship, even the shyest person can come out of their shell!
I loved the dual viewpoints so you can read both Lucie and Reid’s thoughts the whole way through. I laughed so much at this book, they just have the friendship that everyone craves! I shed a few tears too, but definitely a page-turner the whole way through!
Highly recommend if you like a funny romance with a tad of smutt !
As much as I was initially unsure when choosing this book, I enjoyed it more than I envisioned. I giggled, cried & felt all that love our protagonist received while strolling her path. Not to omit, the steamy sets simply had me in tangles. Suggest this quick yet yummy novel just to grown-ups.
The writer's script tone is absolutely bewildering & intricate. She allows our imagination to run wild at the right moment enabling us to form a stunning motion picture in front of our eyes. You can't help but tumble in adoration with the personalities & how they assist in creating & getting out the best in each other.
Thank you, NetGalley, publisher & author, for supplying me with an e-ARC. I'm writing this review voluntarily in exchange for the complimentary e-copy.

Overall this is a good book to get you invested into the story line and characters, and makes you want more.Reid and Luce cannot deny the chemistry between them, the plot is intresting and the steam is off the charts. Great read!
This is a sexy romance that keeps you entertained from cover to cover. I enjoyed every bit of the story!
I could not warm up to the characters in this book. I found Lucie particularly naive and annoying. There is nothing special that made it stand out from the crowd. The connection between Lucie and Reid felt forced and unbelievable.
This book was a miss for me. I didn't hate it but it wasn't great either.
I received an arc of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I liked it a bit but it wasn’t my favourite book, you know? I liked it more than other things I've read this year but I definitely preferred Lost and Found to this one. I think it fell a little flat with me because of the POV and just the whole plot overall.
3.5 stars overall though because it was good.
I was invited to read a free e-ARC of Seducing Cinderella by Gina L. Maxwell through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine.
Okay, I'm a sucker for the "experienced man helps shy/inexperienced woman build confidence in and out of the bedroom to seduce the "ideal" man she's set on but, somewhere along the way, the helper and helpee get stuck in moments of high sexual tension, bang, then fall irrevocably in love" storyline. Add in friends to lovers, brother's best friend, and some neat background story for either the hero or heroine (in this case the hero is a pro MMA fighter!), and I'm sold faster than a pumpkin spice latte on October 1st. Did I mention there's a "who did this to you" in less than 10% into the book? And the classic third act romcom breakup was relatively reasonable and didn't piss me off? This has it all.
My reservation: the dialogue felt a bit stilted and didn't come off easy-flowing/natural.
Then there's also the fact that Reid's way too good to be true, but this is a romance and I'm not really looking for a realistic in my romances so I'm not holding that against the book. Or him.
Seducing Cinderella is such a fun and easy read, I really enjoyed the journey, I loved that the epilogue takes place YEARS later, and there's TWO additional bonus scenes; I highly recommend it if you're looking for a low angst, instant gratification romance!

I don’t know where to begin talking about my love for Reid and Lucie. I have never met a couple I truly wanted to be their friends, celebrate their wedding, and have our kids grow up together. It’s been a long time since I felt this way, and I will savor it while it lasts.
Lucie Miller has been pining over one of her co-workers, hoping to get his attention. Instead, he asks for one of her friend's numbers. *I mean, seriously, dude, not cool, not cool at all* When she meets her next client, she realizes it’s her brother's best friend, who she hadn’t seen in many years.
“When a sparrow finds its soul mate, they stay together until the end of their life.” Raising his head again, he met her gaze. “Making them the symbol for finding one’s true love.”
Reid Andrews meets his new physical therapist and finds out it’s Lucie Miller, his best friend's little sister. *She isn’t little anymore once Reid puts eyes on her!* Reid decides to move in with Lucie and help her seduce her co-worker while Lucie helps him rehab his shoulder. Little does Reid know, but his training sessions on Lucie start turning into something else. Reid may have one of the biggest fights coming up, but it’s not in the ring.
“Heart. Any fighter can win against any odds if he has more heart than his opponent.”
Ahhhh, Reid and Lucie. They are one of my all-time favorite couples. I loved watching them grow together, and of course, the epilogue gave me teenage girl squeals. I love Reid. If it’s possible to marry a fictional character, all my money is on Reid. Lucie had no idea what she had been harboring inside. She soon realizes she is a beautiful, strong woman. A woman I admire for brains and beauty. Reid and Lucie both have insecurities and fears. It was refreshing to not read this as a one-sided character but for both of them.
I think everyone should read this book. Anyone who likes romance novels should read this. If you want Best Friends Little Sister, MMA, and/or Second Chance…I would pick this one up immediately.
Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book. I really enjoyed it. A quick, fun read with a spin on the Cinderella story. Lucie and Reid are likeable characters with loads of chemistry.
(I’m not too keen on the book cover though.)
MMA fighter Reid Andrews has suffered a bad injury and has to take some time off and spend some time with a physical therapist. The physical therapist that his trainer finds? Reid's best friend's little sister. And she isn't so little anymore. Lucie begs Reid to instruct her in seduction. Problem? They seem to be seducing each other.
I enjoyed this book. I liked the characters and their relationship. I think there needed to be more though. I don't feel like the resolution was justified enough. I wanted more from them. I'm intrigued by the series and will likely continue!
