I love this story! Yuujirou and Rui are the cutest and the sweetest. I seriously love a good best friends to lovers story, and this one was just so adorable! I loved their story and how they came together in the first book, and I loved getting a continuation of their journey in this one. I really loved how Rui stood up for himself for the first time, how he went after what he wanted, and how the two of them made things work while they were apart. They are just such a sweet couple, and I love everything about them. I also very seriously need Takenaka and Umino's story, please and thank you!

I remember reading the first volume (a complete story on its own) and thinking it was really cute, but not much beyond that. So I'm glad this one starts with a short retelling of what happened, besides expanding on the story of Rui and Yuujirou's life together.

The art is very nice and fits the sweet vibes of the story. This time, in their last year of high school, they're thinking of the future - college, jobs, living together. It was nice seeing them dealing with more real things beyond the regular high-school relationship thing, going through the struggles of adulting and hiding from their families, and still staying together.

Despite some angst, this was mostly fluff, but in a very positive way. I really liked this volume and I can't wait to see more of what Atsuko Yusen will publish in the future. Maybe this is the author that'll get me to fall in love with the childhood sweethearts trope lol.

Dekoboko Bittersweet Days is a friends-to-lovers story between Yuujirou and Rui. Following their love confession, the two are finally together and living the last year of their high school life in bliss. This manga was so adorable and was just so heartwarming. There's just something so pure between the love Rui and Yuujiro have for each other. The characters show maturity as they face the obstacles and struggles together. They are just so supportive of each other you cannot help but smile throughout the story and cheer them on.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and to the publisher for the copy in exchange for an honest review.

A continuation of the first book, "Dekoboko Sugar Days." In this book Yuujirou and Rui are in the last summer of their high school days and trying to figure out their futures, both for themselves and together. The story is quite rushed in this volume and the steamy points of the book are seemingly too gratuitous for my own tastes. The illustrations are quite good, though.

This was such a super sweet continuation of Dekoboko Sugar Days! I hadn't read it before this so I quickly checked it out and I absolutely love Rui and Yuujirou's dynamic. Childhood friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and I adored their story. Bittersweet Days is a bit more emotional and follows their journey from new lovers to their plans for the future.

I was expecting a mix of sweet and angst from the title, and it didn't disappoint! Despite their love for each other, Rui and Yuujirou had to navigate their relationship with their own desires. I was worried that they'd end up giving up their dreams for each other, but I was very happy with the conclusion.

The story of a large but delicate princess (Rui) and his smaller boyfriend (Yuujirou) who wants to be his knight in shining armor.

There's the usual jealousies, consternation over being smaller than his beloved, and fear of telling their family about their relationship.

Overall it's an adorably sweet love story.

I did not know this was the second book in the series, but they give a quick rundown of what is surely the angst-filled first volume before they got together. They are truly the kind of ideal couple that makes me want to throw my ereader at the wall out of raging jealousy that fictional characters are living their best lives together. Surely less angst will be in the second book where the couple starts off together right? Wrong, because the dreaded career survey comes up and our boys have ambitions for their life after high school. Fear not, everything works out eventually and now I think I need to get my hands on that first volume. (I received an eARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.)

This was a cute little love story and even though I had no idea it was a sequel, the book makes sure to summarize everything so you’re caught up immediately. The characters were sweet, the storyline was adorable, and I love how it spanned across several years. Very cute and easy, quick read. My one critique is it felt a little rushed at times and I think the years could have been broken down into different books. But overall, still a good read!

An absolutely delightful sequel that lives up to the first.

We return to Rui Hanamine and Yuujirou Matsukaze's relationship as they continue to build it. Side characters Takenaka and Umino return and we see the Hanamine and Matsukaze families play a greater role.

Fans of the first book will absolutely love the second, and I believe will be immensely satisfied with the ending. While there's still a fair amount of drama, it's balanced out by the characters' devotion to each other and other light, fluffy moments.

It appears that this is the last book for this couple, but I'm hoping for a continuation with some of the friends.

The long awaited follow up to Dekoboko Sugar Days, this sequel is a deeper dive into this precious and pure friendship set on fire.
With obstacles and hurdles in the way of their happily ever after, Yuujirou and Rui are back with as much charm, sweetness, and a few tears - but those were 100% on me.

If I'm well-read in a few genres, Yaoi is definitely on of them, being back with these two is definitely a refreshing story in a milieux that's often fraught with toxicity and miscommunication.

I will never get enough of them!

"slow-burn romance" yea right... I don't know why but I never expect these to be explicit, but they always are. Which is not for me personally. I wish there was an easy way to tell before reading it

That was just too adorable for words. I really liked the first volume but the second one had so much more depth with emotions and angst and character development. I loved how the story progressed. It was great to see how ether couple was dedicated to themselves just as much as they were to each other. Definitely recommended to everyone.

Thanks to NetGalley and Tokyopop for this arc!

Wow I enjoyed the first volume of this series but this one seriously blew me away! The art is still incredible, and I love how this volume touched on more serious issues like maintaining a long distance relationship. It was refreshing to see the couple quickly clear up their misunderstandings, and communicate their worries and concerns to each other constantly. I would definitely reccomend!

AHHHHHH, This was so beautiful and THE DRAMA but also the seriousness that the two characters had about their futures, the maturity, the adorableness of their childhood, and the continued development of their relationship, it was just, it hit me right where it hurts and I loved it! Can I get more?!

To be honest, I preferred the first volume, but this was still good. It was as cute and fluffy as the first volume, but I disliked the "We need to break up because it's best for you" even though I understand its purpose in the story. Apart from that, I really enjoyed their development and the ending was so cute. Overall, really enjoyed the first volume and this manga a lot.

The follow-up to Dekoboko Sugar Days follows our focal couple as they deal with the twists and turns of coming into adulthood and figuring out the course of their relationship as they enter the next chapter of their lives. I re-read the first volume before starting on this one and definitely recommend it. Atsuko Yusen's art remains as cute as ever, but this volume is definitely spicier than the former. It also deals with more of the social barriers the two face coming out to their families and friends. Altogether, a cute sequel that'll be sure to please fans of Dekoboko Sugar Days and leaves you wanting more of its couple (and the budding b-couple featured in this volume).

This volume is the sequel to Dekoboko Bittersweet Days, and it was released two years after. And I can already tell you, there is some difference in the drawing style, especially when it comes to Rui who becomes a bit chubbier in a way.
Here, Rui and Yuujirou are in a relationship. Yuujirou finally focuses less on his height, though he still thinks about it. I enjoyed it, but it didn’t make my heart race. Rui and Yuujirou encounter a few obstacles but always overcome them. The main one being where to go to university. Another one being how to come out to your family.
I recommend to people looking for a sweet yaoi.
3/5

Review to come March 22nd on blog/goodreads/etc.

I received this book from Netgalley/publisher in exchange of an honest review.

OMGGGG My boys are back! Two years after I read Dekoboko Sugar Days we finally have the sequel! Dekoboko Bittersweet Days!~ I was just absolutely excited and hyped when I saw the book pop up on Netgalley~

This review will be chaotic. I am sorry. I want to write a review, but I also just want to lie on the ground and flail around a bit. XD

I loved that we got a Chapter 0 explaining how our guys got together and how things continue. I am happy with that because while I know most of the things, it has been two years, so a refresher is just perfect~ Thanks!

And the story just picks up where we left~ We see our couple and see them manoeuvre through life. Have some fun moments. Sexy moments. We even get some flashbacks to when they were children and I just adored that those were added. We see our boys (and their friends) thinking of what to do next in their lives, college/university is fast approaching and they have to do decide. I do have to say I was a tad pissed at Rui. I mean, he knew there was that chance. He knew that he may go to there. I just wished he had talked it over with Yuujirou in time, not when he told the teacher about what was going to happen. I am glad that they talked quickly afterwards and not let it fester and ruin things. And you know, now that they talked I could also kind of understand why Rui is considering this option. But from this moment... something has changed between the two, also made bigger because they cannot come out to their family. My heard just broke.

I wasn't sure about Takenaka because of how obsessed he seemed with Rui (at times I was confused into who he was more interesting the sister or the brother)... but he did step up big time in the parts where the relationship with Rui and Yuujirou fell apart. He was there to punch (literally) some sense into Yuujirou and I loved that. I was worried he would just interfere and do something horrible, but here he is, being a hero. Doing what a good friend should do.

There are so many sex scenes. OMG, I knew that they had reached that next step in the previous book, but holy wow. XD But no complaints here. The scenes were well-written. Plus, I am so happy with yaoi with consent and happy relationships. I loved that both of them took the lead and Rui even learned some tricks (which just delivered a priceless expression on Yuujirou's face).

That final chapter, just chef kiss~ I just have to put this quote here, will put it under spoiler tags because....
Yuujirou: Now that my face is closer to yours.... I can kiss you... more easily.
I was just so happy for my guys and I loved seeing what they were up to. How they were trying to get through those 4 years. Working hard. Both of them doing their own things. Chatting together thanks to the internet and modern communication. Then they met up again, and I was just freaking crying. I keep on crying with this manga. LORD. The tears are flowing! It was just the best ending!

I loved this one, again, sorry for the chaotic review, I tried to sort and organise it a bit better, but I am not sure if it is much better, haha. This manga just makes me so emotional. It is well-written, beautiful, and I love the characters. I will miss them. The art is just gorgeous, at times even more than that!

I would highly recommend this one to all!

First off, Thank you NetGalley for this ARC! I absolutely lovedddd it. Ugh my heart was warmed by everything that was happening in the story. I was teetering in between 4.5 and 5 for a while just because the angst almost made me cry and I really can’t handle too much sadness in love sometimes. But it was realistic even though I just wanted them to be happy. But the ended really sealed the deal for me and bumped it back up to a 5.

Maybe a minor spoiler?, but I loved being able to see them go their separate ways for a while but still love each other and stay together and work through it all. The airport scene was tugging at my heart strings heavy. Honestly I loved this so much, maybe even a tad bit more than the first one just because I got to see them older and in love. I wish I could see more!

Also maybe there will be a bit more of a spin off with Takenaka and Umino?👀 I’m looking forward to whatever gets put out next by Atsuko Yusen!

This is a continuation of the story started in "Dekoboko Sugar Days". Rui and Yuujirou's relationship is in full swing as they enter the final year of high school. They are out to some of their friends, but not their families, and are generally keeping it a secret. Although somehow they are able to find enough privacy and alone time to have tons of sex. They do face some genuine obstacles that would come with having a gay relationship, but not as many as they would probably face in real life. But, this is a fluffy, steamy, boys love manga so let's not think too hard about that! It was a cute, fun, and spicy read and I enjoyed it.
