Thanks to NetGalley for this one. This is my second read from Jaime Lynn Hendricks and this is the one that I like the most. The read was fast and easy to read. Thrillers are my thing to read and this was one that I was not able to solve which shows it was well written. It had a good pace and kept my interest.
DNF. Unfortunately, this was a book I started multiple times but could just not get into. I appreciate having the opportunity to read this book, it was just not a good fit for me as a reader. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for my gifted review copy.
This was my first book by this author and it definitely will not be my last! This was a fun, juicy read that I enjoyed from start to finish! There were a lot of great twists, and who does not love a well done whodunit!? I know I do!
All these characters are well developed and well written, and all of them could be a potential suspect, with lots of hidden secrets being revealed.
This was a great book with lots of twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. Highly recommend this one and am looking forward to reading more from this author!
I've heard great things about this book and I'm so glad I got around to reading it! Wonderful, quick, thrilling read.
This one was just okay and predictable. I didn't really enjoy the characters but the plot seemed interesting enough to keep me going.
It Could Be Anyone ~ Jaime Lynn Hendricks
When the groom dies at a destination wedding, everyone has a motive. On the outside it looks like 5 best friends have gathered to see their friend, Fiona, marry Trevor Vaughn. But Trevor has been playing a dangerous game and he has dark secrets about all of Fiona's friends. Secrets he used to blackmail them all into convincing Fiona to marry Trevor.
I wanted to love this book because of the premise, but it just fell flat for me. It was entertaining enough and I enjoyed finding out everyone's dirty secrets, but I just didn't find any of the characters likeable enough to fully be vested in their stories. I think it ended well and I'm not mad that I read it, it just didn't have the punch I was looking for. Still, there were some very shocking revelations in the book.
Jaime Lynn Hendricks is an award-winning mystery/thriller author, and she has crafted another excellent mystery in "It Could Be Anyone." In her newest book, Fiona and Trevor are having a destination wedding. However, all of Fiona's friends (who are also members of the wedding party) hate Trevor. Having found blackmail material on all of them, Trevor lords his power over them. But when he ends up dead at his own wedding, finding out who actually killed him will be hard to determine.
I enjoyed this book and thought it was a fun, quick read. My main complaint is that the ending was too quick. The author revealed the murderer, but didn't really spend much time on his or her motivation and what the consequences were. Overall, this was a good book. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Synopsis: To anyone on their flight out of New York, they appear to be five best friends excited for a destination wedding in Miami. No one would guess that each of them has a reason to want the groom dead. Trevor Vaughn, the groom in question, he learned all of the five’s darkest, most dangerous secrets and blackmailed them into convincing Fiona to say “I do.” The friends were forced to convince a doubting Fiona to go through with the wedding, no matter what, and now the charade is set to continue all the way to the altar. What happens at this designation wedding to this friend group?
My Thoughts: Wow is my first word! I absolutely devoured this book in just days. I even put the other books I was reading on the back burner to finish this one. There is twist after twist and it is wrapped in a bow at the end. The story is told from the perspective of most of the friend group, even Trevor has a few “perspectives.” The characters are well developed and have depth, mysteriousness, are intriguing, and extremely creative. The author’s writing style is complex, brilliant, creative, and kept me absolutely engaged the entire book. The storylines that are developed are amazing, the author took great care in providing backstories and how they all tied together. The only part I wish was a little more was the ending, I mean it was good, but I was left with wanting a little more. I love this author and will be buying any future books. I highly recommend this book!! Go buy it or reserve from the library right now!
I love when a book starts out with the ending and works it’s way backwards. The story begins when Trevor drops dead on his wedding day at the wedding reception due to an allergic reaction. It’s clear it was done on purpose, as it is told from the point of view from the killer. It’s clear from the beginning Trevor is a bad guy but as the story unfolds we realize he really is scum and each member of the wedding party has a reason to want him dead. Each person has a secret, one that they are being blackmailed to keep their secret safe . The question is who is the killer. I feel like I suspected everyone at some point. They were all morally gray characters but I enjoyed the story even though none of them were very likable. The story is told through multiple narrators and through several timelines. It sounds confusing but it wasn’t. It flowed well and I didn’t find it dragging. A who-done mystery with a twist!
After Finding Tessa blew me away last year, I knew I had to get my hands on Jaime Lynn Hendricks's latest novel and it did not disappoint!
The story was suspenseful the entire time. Even though the beginning tells you what's going to happen, it doesn't give the whole picture and it was fun to try to piece everything together and figure out who had the motive and skill to make it happen. I liked getting to know each of the characters and seeing them all interact, as well as learning all their secrets. Trevor was such a jerk and I was glad to see him meet his maker. Seeing his side of things didn't make me like him either. The descriptions were good without detracting from the narrative, and Jaime made me feel like I was right there with everyone in the sweltering heat and staying at a luxurious hotel.
The only thing that annoyed me was that I felt like one of the characters was being hypocritical, especially after their secret is revealed.
If you're looking for a great thrill ride this summer, definitely give this novel a whirl!

Sipping thoughts: Weddings are supposed to be a day of love and happiness. Well in the case of Fiona and Trevor’s wedding, the bridesmaids and grooms are anything but happy. You would feel the same way too if the groom was blackmailing you into convincing the bride that marrying him was the best choice.
I love a book with a one setting whodunit and multiple POV’s. The secrets that Trevor was using to blackmail the bridal party was juicy. I kept going back and forth with who I thought to be the guilty party. The reveal of the killer really dropped the ball for me and made the ratings drop from a 4 to a 3 star. I still love Finding Tessa, Hendricks first release, and can’t wait to see what she has in store for the future.
Cheers and thank you to @PenzlerPublishers, @Scarlet and @NetGalley for an advanced copy of @ItCouldBeAnyone.

This was another story where I loved the premise, but didn't love the execution as much as I hoped for. A group of best friends have to pretend to be excited for their friend's wedding, because the groom is blackmailing them with their deepest, darkest secrets. But as the book lets us know from the very beginning, the groom has pushed one of them too far, and by the middle of the wedding reception, the groom is dead.
The secrets were really huge ones, and when they were revealed, I was shocked each character was able to just keep going given how everything they thought they knew was completely shaken. I definitely wanted to know who killed the dastardly groom, but the answer felt almost like a throwaway at the very end.
It Could Be Anyone by Jaime Lynn Hendricks is a thriller about a groom who dies at his destination wedding. Five best friends were attending a wedding in Miami, but they each have a reason to want the groom dead. When he ends up dead, they each could be a suspect in his death. But who did it? Or are any of them responsible? While this was kind of a fun read, none of the characters were especially likeable, and they were all making terrible and frustrating decisions. Thanks to NetGalley for the free digital review copy. All opinions are my own.
So this book started off with a bang. Like right away it takes you into the action. And it makes you want to keep reading to figure out what happened. I know this might just be a me thing but, I do not like when stories are told through multiple POVs. It just gets very confusing for me and hard to keep up with. Literally every single character has a secret. Which will keep you guessing the whole time. But for me that also made the plot very confusing. I did not guess who the killer was so I guess that was a win. I think a lot of people would like this one. But for me it was just a lot of characters and details to keep up with.
I started with high hopes for this book, but it fell flat. The characters were unlikable, and I didn't connect with them. Many of the story elements reminded me of the psychological thrillers I've read recently, and ther was nothing to make this story stand out in the crowd.
Trevor Vaughn- on the surface looks like a great guy who is enjoying his destination wedding to the woman of his dreams, Fiona. Little does she know that Trevor blackmailed her friends to put in a good word for him and to take part in their wedding.
Groomzilla! But his wedded bliss doesn't last for long when he suddenly dies at his wedding, surrounded by those he blackmailed with their darkest secrets. Was his death an accident or was he murdered? That is up to the police who realize than anyone could be a suspect!
The story bounces around some as the book is told when he dies, to days before the wedding and then after. I found it easy to keep up and follow. What could he have held over their heads?
I found this book to be enjoyable and I was intrigued with what their secrets could be as they did not want them to come out. I kept reading and wondering, but when the secrets did come out, I was a little let down. This is where I expected fireworks but got a flicker instead.
I had high hopes for this one and although I enjoyed it, I didn't love it. I enjoyed Finding Tessa much more but will still be on the lookout for the next book Hendricks writes.

Thank you to Penzler Publishers, Scarlet and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.
It Could Be Anyone tells the story of 6 friends as they convene in Miami for one of their groups weddings. Everyone seems to be excited for Fiona to marry Trevor but are they all being honest? When someone drops dead at the wedding, everyone’s secrets will be fair game. Was it really an accident?
Y’all! This book is so freaking good! I couldn’t stop reading! Each character was so unique with their own flaws and secrets. It really makes you think about what your darkest most incriminating secret would be. I think the best thing about this novel is that you are given the key pieces of information needed to solve the murder very early and it’s all on the page for you. Hendricks is just so good that you don’t see it coming. This is going to cement itself as one of my favorite mysteries of all time and definitely top 10 of 2022! For sure
This was super-fast paced and took off like a shot right from the first page. A mixture of whodunit and revenge, with a mix of a character who is so rotten you can't help but hate him. A group of friends are gathering for their friend Fiona's wedding. Except there's a problem. They all hate her fiancé, Trevor, And with good reason because he is blackmailing all of them. But how did he find out all about the issues they've had in their pasts? The fact that Fiona seems to have no clue how terrible her fiancé is--and that he secretly hates her and is only using her to get into the good graces of her politician uncle--makes the story that much better. I loved this book and I can't wait to read more by Jaime Lynn Hendricks!
A good summer beach read. Multiple pov’s,
Unlivable characters, fast paced. It wasn’t anything New in respect to the mystery as too who killed the groom and it wasn’t a surprise as to the murderer. But all in all it was an easy and fun read.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early copy in exchange for an honest review.
3.5⭐️
This was a fun, drama filled, twisty, page-turning thriller! The characters were unforgettable. I loved getting to know each one of them on such an intimate level. Emma, Ethan, Allie, Dutch, and Vee are each hiding life-changing secrets within their close-knit circle. I thought the most exciting part of this book was when I hit the 75% mark.
