Just like the title says it could be anyone and you will feel that way as you read! It will leave you guessing and wanting more! I couldn’t wait to figure it all out but then I was in a major book hangover after. So good!

Many thanks to Penzler Publishers Scarlet Press for gifting me a digital ARC of the new thriller by Jaime Lynn Hendricks - 4 stars for a good who-dun-it read!

A group of 5 friends travel from New York to Miami for the wedding of another of their friends. None of them like the groom, Trevor. So when he dies shortly after vows are exchanged, it could be anyone who caused his murder. Unbeknownst to each other, Trevor knows secrets about each of the friends and is blackmailing them to ensure their endorsement of his marriage to their friend. But secrets can't stay secret long!

I really liked the premise of this book - starts out with a death and then goes back a few days before with each of the characters so that we learn all their back stories. The title was definitely on point because it could be anyone who killed him. None of the characters were extremely likable but it was a fast, entertaining read!

It Could Be Anyone is a twisty new book oozing with lies, juicy secrets, and murder!! Jaime Lynn Hendricks takes readers on a very curvy ride in her new whodunit.

Trevor Vaughn is handsome and dressed to the nines for his elaborate Miami wedding to his beautiful fiancee Fiona. Friends and family have gathered to celebrate the couple's perfect day except for one teeny tiny issue. A guest finds Trevor murdered at the wedding reception. W-H-A-T? 😲

As it turns out, Trevor is a lowlife scum of the earth that has been bribing people for profit. (The good news is Trevor's already dressed for his funeral! Never waste a good suit! Lol! 😎) The biggest questions are who murdered Trevor on his wedding day and why? Can you figure it out?

This short book packs a huge punch and is fun to read. Hendricks includes incredible plot twists that keep you in the dark till the last chapter. The novel does not include hardcore violence, and the sexual content is pretty mild. I recommend this book to mystery lovers that enjoy a shocking conclusion.

It Could Be Anyone by the extraordinary Jamie Lynn Hendricks is available on May 10th.

Thank you, NetGalley and Penzler Publishers, for allowing me to review this exciting new book by Jaime Lynn Hendricks. Your kindness is appreciated.

This book starts out with the murder scene. Right away you know that the groom would die. But the story behind why he was killed was NUTS! Knowing that Trevor was going to die from the very beginning was so satisfying. As the reader, you really grow to hate him. Finally finding out who really killed him at the very end was so surprising! I loved Hendricks’s writing style and thoroughly enjoyed following the stories of each character and their shocking secrets. I flew through the second half of the book as there was never having a dull moment. I’ve heard great things about this author, but this was my first by her. I’ll be checking out her other books and highly recommend this one!

A huge thank you to NetGalley, Penzler Publishers, and Jaime Lynn Hendricks for providing me with this gifted copy in exchange for my honest review.

It Could Be Anyone is the perfect title for this thrilling book by Jaime Lynn Hendricks. This is a well written story told in multiple point of views. It grabs you from the first chapter until the very last. It is a fast paced “who did it” that keeps your interest and the pages turning. This one has a little bit of everything…….blackmail, secrets and lies….. ohhhh so many secrets and lies, and also revenge. It has such intense drama and shocking secrets that make the twist and turns many! This is one not easy to figure out and it was shocking when the person was revealed. I highly recommend this intriguing book and look forward to reading more from this talented author.

Fiona, Allie, Emma, Ethan, Dutch, and Vee have all been bestfriends since college. Imagine their surprise when Fiona announces she's met a great man in Trevor, they are relocating to Miami, and are engaged and soon to be married. The friends all despise arrogant Trevor and would love to warn Fiona away but Trevor has his own plans to set in motion.

Trevor has managed to find a secret that each best friend is hiding from one another. All the secrets could destroy either themselves or their friendships to one another. The caveat? Talk Trevor up. Tell Fiona what a wonderful guy he is. Praise him and convince Fiona that she's just hit the marital jackpot. What could possibly go wrong?

I was so excited when I saw that Jaime Lynn Hendricks had a new book coming out. I loved her exceptional and twisty debut Finding Tessa and I was eager to see what she would come up with next. Sadly, this did not hold a candle to her debut novel. It didn't even read like it was the same author. This book is the equivalent to that expression: With friends like these, who needs enemies. Boy, oh, boy are these people unlikable but even they can't compete with Trevor who reigns supreme as the King of all Sleazeballs. I don't even mind unlikable but the story has to be clever and the villain has to be one that you love to hate. Neither happened here. Not one thing surprised me in it's reveal. I'm sorry to say that this book is bound to get lost among all the other mediocre psych-thrillers out there. It's totally forgettable to those that do decide to read this and completely skippable for those that don't. 2 stars!

Thank you to NetGalley and Penzler Publishers for my complimentary copy.

A couple months ago I read Finding Tessa by Jaime Lynn Hendricks and it was one of my favorite books of the month! So when I heard she was releasing another book I instantly requested it on @netgalley !

This book comes out tomorrow and let me just say you won’t want to miss this juicy book! We first enter this book by watching a a wedding reception through the murderer’s eyes and the groom drops dead. Then we meet the bride’s best friends from college and one of them is the murderer!

❤️Review❤️

I couldn’t read this book fast enough. One of my favorite things about @jaimelynnhendricksauthor writing is that she gives you just enough in each chapter that you can’t help but continue to read the next one. Anytime I had to stop reading to do something else I would get so mad because I didn’t want to stop. If you are looking for a thriller with truly messy and drama filled characters, then this is the book for you! I couldn’t tell who did it because it honestly could have been any one of them. That’s what made it the perfect who done it. Now I’ll be waiting on the edge of my seat for her next release!

I highly encourage you to go pick up this book tomorrow!

4.5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

After reading Finding Tessa, I knew I had to get Jaime Lynn Hendricks’ new book! It Could Be Anyone did not disappoint. Jaime Lynn Hendricks is an auto buy author for me.

I was HOOKED from Chapter 1, when Trevor dies at his own wedding! Trevor is such an unlikeable character that I had no sympathy for his death. So many potential suspects with different motives, which lead to a major page turning read!

Wow! With every chapter that you read, you think you know who the killer is but I WAS SO WRONG! The ending throw me for a loop 🤯 and to say I was surprised is putting it lightly!

I can’t wait to see what Hendricks comes up with next!

***** Many thanks to Penzler Publishers (Scarlet), Jaime Lynn Hendricks, and NetGalley for the gifted copy as it was provided to me in turn for my honest opinion.

Review will be posted to instagram (thriller_book_sisters) prior to pub date.

✔️ the overall plot idea was so interesting - i actually anticipated loving it based in the synopsis - 5 friends - one dead groom and one devastated bride - #whodunnit ?
✔️ chapter one had me hooked …but
✖️ I generally like unlikeable characters but this group of friends were just awful- I mean with friends like these….. 🤦🏼‍♀️
🔘 the story just moved at a really slow pace - until the end when it started picking up a bit

An ok mystery thriller with a great overall plot but a bit slow .. there was not one likeable character in this group of friends

I enjoyed Finding Tessa by Jaime Lynn Hendricks so was looking forwards to this.

A modern, trendy whodunnit. A death at a wedding reception, Trevor Vaughn, the groom drops dead. Could it be murder?

As we learn more about the characters, Trevor was hated by nearly everyone, a blackmailer using people's darkest secrets against them to achieve his goals.
I found the pattern a little predictable, a string of potential friends turned enemies, plenty of suspects who might wish Trevor ill, and not many very likeable characters.

If you are looking for a modern spin on murder mysteries this might be one for you.

Thanks to Netgalley and Penzler Publishers, Scarlett

Who doesn’t love weddings? A day filled with love, togetherness and blackmail! Trevor Vaughn seems like the perfect man and Fiona feels so honored to be marrying him. Even her 5 closest friends are excited for them and are in the wedding as bridesmaids and groomsmen. But are they truly happy or did Trevor learn all their dark secrets and blackmail them into convincing Fiona to marry him? Trevor may not be the perfect man after all and his sudden death at the wedding threatens to reveal everyone’s dirty laundry.

This book hooked me from the very first page, a death at a wedding…yes please! The secrets in this book were dark and juicy and my mouth was agape at learning why some of them were being blackmailed by Trevor. Guessing at who really killed Trevor made me loopy and I did not see that coming even though it is hinted upon earlier in the book. Read this book and be thankful the weddings you attend are nothing like this!

I enjoyed the multiple POVs but at times it felt a little redundant and confusing. The plot line was great though and I loved the ending. I will definitely recommend this one, I think it would have been perfect for an audiobook with different voices for the characters.

Someone get me a coffee because it’s going to be a long day! I couldn’t put this one down even if I tried and I stayed up way past my bedtime!

The title of this book is perfectly fitting because it literally could be anyone who killed the groom on his wedding day. From the outside, it seemed as though everyone loved Trevor. Even Fiona’s five best friends from college were thrilled to be included in the wedding party. VeeJay, Dutch, Ethan, Emma, and Allie all flew to Miami from New York to have “three days of fun” but each of them secretly hates Trevor. He had a personal agenda and made sure Fiona’s friends wouldn’t stand in his way. Blackmail is the perfect way to ensure they all stayed in line and he dug up each of their darkest secrets to scare them into submission. When Trevor dropped dead at the wedding reception, anyone could have been behind it…but who?

I’ve read books with multiple characters and points of view that honestly got confusing and I felt like I had to take notes to keep everyone straight. I definitely did NOT get this feeling in this book because Hendricks did such an amazing job describing the characters and giving them their own personalities that it was easy to keep them distinguished. As I furiously flipped through the pages, I thought I figured out who did it but changed my mind with each passing chapter. If you’re looking for a quick read with short chapters that keeps you gripped to the pages the entire time, this is definitely for you!

⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

• juicy whodunnit
• fast paced and twisty
• multiple POV/timeline

I enjoyed this one! I think a physical copy while reading would be helpful so it would be easier to flip back and reference timelines/characters. If you like secrets amongst friends and destination wedding vibes, read this book!

A digital ARC of this book was provided to me by NetGalley and the publisher. The opinions are my own and freely given.

This book starts at the reception of Trevor and Fiona. While on the dance floor, Trevor collapses with an apparent allergic reaction and Fiona screams for someone to bring an EpiPen. I was hooked from the beginning. Told from the point of view of all in the wedding party from 2 days prior to the wedding to the day after. Every one of them have a motive for killing him, but you won't find out who it was until the very end. These are college friends who have all remained close, and the new groom is weaseling his way into the group. Again, I was hooked and really enjoyed this story. I haven't read anything like this before. thank you NetGalley, Penzler Publishers and Scarlet.

It Could Be Anyone by Jaime Lynn Hendricks

The story starts with Trevor dropping dead at his own wedding, brought down by an allergic reaction. It could not have happened to a more deserving man. Trevor was a skunk, a sleazy, blackmailing bottom feeder, who weaseled his way into marriage to Fiona by holding the secrets of her best friends over their heads. Let the funeral begin!

Once Trevor drops dead, the story goes back and forth between a couple of days before the wedding and further back, to the times when Trevor makes his original threats, with pictures and video, known to each of the friends. This had been a group of seven college friends until Trevor did his dirty work on one of them. That had shown the group that they'd be out if their secrets were known, so now each of them feels they must go along with Trevor's demands.

The only person with a backbone is already gone so we get to watch the friends dig deeper holes. Who'd want friends like this? It's so improbably that all these friends could have such dark and dirty pasts but it seems they were like magnets to each other (or something else was going on) for them to all come together in college, to be glued to each other, well over ten years later. And now all peace of mind is being destroyed by Trevor.

If only the characters were more likeable but they lack so much. Common sense, the decency to tell the truth, the gumption to admit the past and face up to it. But no, lie at all costs and do more dumb things to make things worse, I would never trust any of these people so I guess they deserve each other. So...who killed Trevor?

Thank you to Penzler Publishers/Scarlet and NetGalley for this ARC.

The premise of the book drew me in but once I started reading it, I just couldn’t get into it at all.
I wish the author, publisher and all those promoting the book much success and connections with the right readers.
