In this reimagining of the Peter Pan story, the focus is shifted to Tinker Bell and Captain Hook. Tinker Bell has been banished from her home in Neverland, unable to return without fixing a magical bracelet that she possesses. She enlists the aid of mermaids, but in order to prove her loyalty to them, she steals a precious item from Captain Hook, seducing him in the process. When the two meet again, they both are after the same goal and they must work with each other in order to achieve their respective ends.

This reimagining was fun, adventure filled, and pretty steamy as well. There have been a lot of reimaginings of different fairytale stories but this one was filled with a great dynamic of enemies to lovers and side characters who I'm sure will end up getting some additional attention in later books. The twists were especially great, with the change up of who the crocodile is and how Hook lost his hand, as well as the dynamic that is introduced with Peter and his lost boys. Overall, I really enjoyed this and look forward to reading more of Megan Van Dyke's reimagined fairy tales.

If you are a fan of Neverland characters and have a 'thing' for Captain Hook, you will love this fantasy adventure. Tink has been duped by a filthy pirate - Blackbeard - and now she can't go home to her pixie family. She knows a way to get home is to make a deal with the Merfolk but they are tricky and demanding. Then her path crosses with the handsome Captain Hook. He's suspicious of her but starts to feel drawn to her when they work together as a team.

He wants a curse lifted and she wants to go home but then passion explodes between them and they find they don't know what their true heart's desire is.

It's swash-buckling fun with plenty of steam, that moves at a fast pace. 3.5 stars from me.

Second Star To The Left was provided to me by Megan Van Dyke and City Owl Books. This was one of my favorite reads so far. The humor was funny, the sarcasm wasn’t over done and the characters were individual but there was not multiple story lines to muddy the plot. Tink was not the annoying, bratty fairy that she sometimes appears in other versions and Hook was too sexy for his own good. I loved their dynamic and the way their motivations were explained. The romance was super steamy too.

As a lover of anything Disney, this was right up my alley. It was a quicker read, but mostly because I could not put it down. I also enjoyed the brief mentions of Peter and how he was not a hero in this version, while still maintaining his usual misunderstood boy characteristics.
