I understand the plot here. It's certainly easy enough to grasp and follow. What I don't get is the point. I don't know what we're meant to take away. And if it's just the unexpected ending, that isn't sustainable. It's only unexpected once.

Very cute illustrations that feel classic. A vibrant colour palette, and excellent expressions. I would definitely read this in a story time and get great results.

A loud piercing noise is ringing out across the land levelling mountains, blowing stripes off of tigers, and shocking people all over the world! Oh my! Everyone is stunned and they want to know its source. What is happening?
This delightful book starts off by the reader not knowing exactly where the plot is taking them and then a theme appears that flows throughout the book and the story starts to make more sense.
This award-winning book was originally published in Portuguese and is now translated into English. Through the process of elimination the true origin of the unfamiliar sound will be a surprise and create a giggle when the reader finally discovers just what is causing that earsplitting annoying noise.
The illustrations are colourful, bold and detailed. I felt though that they were a bit overwhelming. Having said that, it's a funny tale that I'm sure kids can relate to and will enjoy. "Aaahhh!" invites curious kids into the story to help solve the mystery of what's really going on.

This book didn't seem to flow. I'm not sure what I expected but this wasn't it. Text was small and difficult to read.

Ummm...what?
I think that this is a case of "lost in translation". Not much of this book made sense and I can see kids being frustrated by not really understanding what is actually going on.
The illustrations are good and the colors are vibrant, but it is just not enough to keep anyone engaged. Really disappointing - this one looked to be really fun and just fell flat.
Thank you to NetGalley, Guilherme Karsten, Eric M.B. Becker [Illustrator], and Publisher Spotlight/Tapioca Stories for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book has an interesting concept but suffers from an art style that may not be appealing to it's intended audience and strange wording choices that were made during translation.

The imagery of this book was incredible and very eye catching. That being said the topic of the book is definitely intense and I’m not sure done in a way that helps children understand the message. I think it would open up more questions without providing much guidance which could be really anxiety provoking for some kids. I appreciate trying to bring light to such a heavy topic but I feel like it could’ve been done in a way that left less ambiguity and more understanding of how human’s impact is effecting the earth.
