I really enjoyed Miles pretending not to be Emma Browning who wrote such great historical romance novels. I thought the meet cute between Miles and Lars was perfect! They also had a great relationship development.

I however felt there were times when the story dragged on and I wasn’t very interested and other times when it went too quickly. I am also slightly confused by what happened in the ending. I’m still not certain I understand everything. Overall I found it very enjoyable to read.

This was an entertaining book. It was clever, sweet, funny and I wanted to find out what would happen. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

I received an ARC copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. Unfortunately, I could not get through this book. I dnf'd it at 25%. It was impossible to get into and the characters had no depth or seemingly any redeeming qualities and I can't imagine it got better later. The main character is a romance writer with an impossible to believe aversion to promoting her work in any way. The author gives us snippets of the character's romance novels and, honestly, I question whether the author has ever actually read a romance novel. Those 'book within a book' scenes were so poorly written that if the character's book were actually published, I would not read it. I wanted to love this book, I truly did. But the characters and plot are so badly written, I couldn't even get through it.

Listen, the first 50 pages I was SKEPTICAL but they had me in the second half. On the Same Page is a fun, enemies to lovers book with good chemistry and PANIC REPRESENTATION/ANXIETY MENTAL HEALTH REP, not to mention I read it all in one sitting it was truly that addictive. If I could give this 6 stars I would.

This was a super fun, cute read! I loved the book references throughout- and it was actually the cover that made me want to request!
If you want a quick, fun witty romantic read, this ones for you!

I thought the concept for this book was so cute. And it was, in theory. But I had so much trouble relating to or rooting for Miles. And having it only in her POV made the romance harder to believe for me.

I gave up on this one at about the 60% mark. I wish I liked it more, but it just wasn’t for me! Giving this 2 stars so as not to tank the author’s ratings.

This is my first book by thr author and I am definitely reading more from her!

There are a few instances when you read a book that is heavily laced with references and admiration for classic authors like Jane Austen. On the Same Page was a breezy, bing read about Miles, a lawyer, who writes historical romances under a pseudonym. She is happy with her life thr way it is but then her PA enters Emma Browning's (the author) name for a prestigious literary award. And Miles has to deal with a grouchy yet extremely good looking CEO of the publishing house.

The supporting characters were well thought, the plot predictable yet very enjoyable and a hot hero, Lars, with strong Heathcliff vibes! Everytime Lars entered the scene, my heart would race and I could clearly picture the broody dreamboat he was.

A protagonist with a vivid imagination that she channels through her writing? Yes please! The slow burn was great, the enemies to lovers trope done nicely and the writing, engaging! I wanted more steam from Lars and Miles.

I have been very lucky with Arcs all through March and so glad to have received this one!

On the Same Page is about a socially awkward book lawyer and a confident CEO of a publishing company. These two end up on opposite sides when Miles alter ego Emma Browning wins a prestigious literary award and goes from an anonymous indie author of historical romances to belonging to a publishing company. Miles wants to hide her identity at all costs and Lars needs to bring her into the light at all costs.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It’s fun, quirky and has completely relatable characters. It’s a slow burn and on the low end of the spice scale, but thoroughly enjoyable. I loved how Lars stayed persistent despite all the obstacles and the climax – man what a romantic gesture, melted my heart.

The story is a little slow; I wanted more interaction between Miles and Lars; and I would have liked there to have been an epilogue so we could see where these characters ended up regarding some of the other plotlines – these are the things that keep this book from being a 5-star read for me. Having said that, I would read this story over again and again and highly recommend it – that is truly home much I enjoyed the overall story.

This is an author that I will be checking out more books by, as well as other contemporary romances set and written by Australian authors.

This is my first book from Penelope and I especially chose it for its illustrated cover (I'm a sucker for it if it isn't clear yet!). The hate-love relationship between Miles and Lars gave me The Hating Game vibes so do check this book out if you enjoyed it.

I liked the effort and dedication she put behind her books. We were given glimpses of her books (a book within a book!) and I found it interesting that she went to great lengths to gain inspiration for her books. She also had references to other authors and books which was nice to read. But this is the only part I liked in the book (other than the cover).

I found it really hard to relate to Miles because her thoughts were erratic. I didn't like that Miles did not deal with the problems and instead chose to ignore them. The relationship between Miles and Lars lacked emotional depth and connection, it was instead built up on their sexual attraction which felt shallow.

Lars appearances in the book were little at the start and then it progressed on. However, it was a slow burn between Miles and him which was frustrating to read. He also had this image of being prim and proper yet grumpy always which got a little too much to read. He seemed immature, resorting to calling Miles names whenever they had a disagreement.

The side characters also had the spotlight on them too often that I had to go back to read and remember who were they and why were they in the scene. Miles' disapproving parents had too much to say as compared to her and I kept waiting for her to do something about it. The book was also too long I found myself skimming past some parts.

Overall, the plot could have served something better but this was a little messy for me.

The main character and her pseudonym were a great exploration of how people use creative outlets and also deal with their relationships. I found a lot of the relationships to be captivating and I thought the overall plot and characterizations were well thought out and the commentary on romance as a genre was a great way for the author to show how the main character grows towards the end of the book.

A delightful book full of adventure, action, and thrills. Fun to read, engrossing world building, and very descriptive imagery made it feel like it was cinematic. It's hard to resist the story as it drives forward. Would recommend.

it was a nice read, but in my opinion nothing unique. i liked reading about miles and the approach to her anxiety and her panic attack. what i also likes about the main character was the fact that she had a career as a lawyer but she was writing historical romance under a pen name. i would have loved to read more about lars, as there were a lot things happening in the book but he didn't feel explored as character.

I'd like to say that, I live and breathe for enemies-to-lovers/ hate-to-love trope. And this one clearly provided it.
I loved the idea of secret/hidden identity and the romance was spicy and swoony as well!!
But there were some aspects where I found the conflict too much which could've been avoided.
Overall an enjoyable read.

Miles comes from a family of acclaimed writers, and from a young age was taught that "happily ever after" had no place in true literature. But Miles loves romances. So while eschewing her family calling by day as a lawyer, by night she writes historical romances as Emma Browning. She keeps her two lives separate, until she wins a presitgious award and publishing deal with a top agency. Now, Lars, the CEO, is adamant about meeting Emma and Miles is fighting him, and their attraction, to maintain her alter ego.

I quickly became hooked and was unable to put the book down! Readers get snippets of Emma's books and get to follow Miles and her character's stories.

With all the references to novels and romances, especially Austen, it's no surprise that Lars is a very typical romance hero. He finds Miles incredibly beautiful especially when she does not, wishes to protect her at his own cost, falls for her first but they argue too much, he wishes to learn all her secrets, and is gorgeous. I enjoyed seeing Lars reveal his true feelings, especially as you waited for the other shoe to drop regarding Miles' true identity.

The quirky humour, solid pacing, and absolute chaos that is Miles and her antics, had me reading this in one sitting!

Read for: slow burn, enemies to lovers, lovable side characters

Miles is the daughter of esteemed literary parents, but loves to write historical romance stories. Because her parents were so derisive of her taste, she publishes her novels under a pseudonym, the reclusive Emma Browning.

When she wins a prestigious award, her secret world begins to unravel as Lars, her exasperated new publisher, is determined to meet the elusive Emma.

Where to even start? This is a bit of an odd duck. It's slow at first, implausible at times, and sometimes downright hilarious. But it flits too much between three main themes: the subterfuge of Miles, as she tries to hide that she's also Emma; Miles researching ideas for Emma's next novel; and actual passages of past and the next novels. So it gets messy and muddled, especially as there are several other sub plots going on. There's a peculiar relationship between Miles and her personal trainer, Tom which is too superficial and confusing to really be considered romantic, but is written as (at least at first) trying to be a trigger for jealousy (i assume). Then there's the *main* romantic element, between Lars and Miles, which is simultaneously unexpected, passionate yet rarely leads to any satisfying on-page conclusion.

There's a huge element of farce going on throughout, as Miles desperately tries to keep her hidden identity secret. At first it was annoying, but at some point (it was the carriage ride photograph, okay?!) I just threw my hands up and went with it. Miles is extremely detail oriented when it comes to her intimate scenes, so much so, that she likes to physically set up the mechanics of them, which leads her to a pole dancing class (yet another sub plot), yet can never return phone calls/emails with the publisher, yet they let her get away with it. Continually.

I really liked Lars, who literally had the patience of a SAINT for the majority of the story, but I found it difficult to believe that anyone in his company would have tolerated the convoluted shenanigans of Miles/Emma.

There's the seed of a really fun read in this book, but it was often too chaotic for me. I gave it a 2.5, but rounded up to 3.

She has devoted fans and she seems to be managing it all until Emma Browning is nominated for a big literary award. Emma's win throws Miles's carefully crafted life right out of the window. But Miles is determined to keep the truth a secret, especially from Lars Kristensen, CEO of the publishing company. But Lars is determined to meet Emma Browning and won't let Miles get in the way. On the surface, Miles and Lars have nothing in common. But the more time they spend together, the more their hate for one another starts to feel like something more.

As a die-hard Jane Austen fan, I loved all the references in the book and appreciated the slow-burn between Miles and Lars. Miles starts off as a timid lawyer who has a hard time setting boundaries for her parents and deals with anxiety. But over the course of the book, we see Miles slowly starting to stand up for herself.

This was a funny and sweet story about assumptions and miscommunications -- which is a recipe for a great romance. And the payoff between Miles and Lars was all I wanted it to be. I selfishly wanted more because they were such delightful characters.

If you're looking for a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romance, with some hijinks thrown in the mix, you'll enjoy this one.

I’m obsessed with bookish books, so I loved the cover and premise of this so much. Unfortunately it just wasn’t for me, it felt very slow, and I just didn’t really connect with the characters or empathize with the choices that the main character makes to try to keep her secret. I appreciate an enemies to lovers trope, but this one just didn’t catch me. The high point was the friendships, mentorship, and the little girl that Miles takes a shine to.

This book was not really what I expected! I did love that the focus was on making romance a genre that was respected. I know that many people just view romance novels as a way for women to "express themselves sexually" but this is not always the case. I did love that Miles was advocating so strongly for the romance genre, obviously a little bit out of self-interest, but I loved seeing it. There was a little bit of spice in this but it did always fade to the after of the whole affair. Miles and Lars were a strange couple that also worked? I didn't enjoy certain parts of the writing but that is just due to personal preference. I found that certain areas of the plot were a bit rushed while other parts seemed to drag on and on. Overall, this book was cute and will likely have a big following. It just wasn't my cup of tea, unfortunately!

I really enjoyed this book! Secret identity, book within a book, enemies to lovers, Rom/Com mixed with deeper material…it covered a little bit of everything! Miles is a lawyer who secretly writes romantic novels under a different name. I have to say I absolutely loathed her parents who are writers who show such disdain for their daughter and that is all without knowing that she writes for a genre that they ridicule. Lars is CEO of a publishing company who “Emma” wins a contest for. He was such a good guy, trying to do the right thing. Definitely book boyfriend material! Miles/Emma and Lars—swoony and sweet romance. I also enjoyed the flashes of the historical romances that Emma wrote.

This story was the definition of enemies to lovers. Wow. The tension was palpable anytime Miles and Lars were in a room together. They rarely saw eye to eye, infuriated each other constantly and quite honestly…I found them mean to each other sometimes. It was also a workplace romance which made the whole relationship ten times more confusing and conflicting. The power dynamics were problematic for the pair at best. I’ll be honest I didn’t actually like the two paired together but their interactions were interesting and amusing to read!⁣

I felt like the characters could have been flushed out more. For instance, I would have liked more clarity on a few of the characters back story’s. Having said that, I really enjoyed the relationship between Miles and Jack. Yes yes I know that wasn’t the love match - but I just became entranced by their friendship! How wonderful to have a purely platonic friend that cares so deeply for you. My favourite parts of the book were when they were together.
