I really enjoyed this story and it was a great MC book!
I found that the story was really well written and it was certainly a book that had me hooked.
A coming together of two people's destiny, but the past for one will always be there.
It was romantic and sexy, it had plenty of action and it was an totally addictive read that I didn't want to put down.
It is 5 stars from me for this one - very highly recommended!
Thank you NetGalley for the eARC. I have to say I love MC books but this one, was a little hard for me to read because of the triggers. It took me a while to get past the first part but i eventually did and the rest was great. I cannot wait for the rest of the books.
I’ve been frustrated figuring out the order of these interconnecting series. After starting with Bloody Union (Made #1) I was going to keep going with that series by date written. I’m so glad I read Stag next. As bff’s, Kinsley is in Mackenna’s book and a lot is implied about something bad going on with her but they also know all of each other’s secrets. In Stag it’s implied Kenna knows something isn’t right but not the whole story and she takes more of a back seat. It confused me why the head of the east coast Irish mafia wouldn’t do something at least covertly (since it would be a potentially costly political move). What was happening to Kinsley was beyond bad and it’s hard to believe with their bond she wouldn’t annihilate these bad guys. I can’t stress enough how many triggers this book has so please check the author’s website. It’s heartbreaking and tough to read. Somehow Kinsley is written vulnerable, broken, but resolute she’ll never let them defeat her. It’s a good introduction to the various characters in this series that make up a family.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
We have a new series from this author, with characters previously seen in her mafia union series. However, I think you can start fresh with this one if you are new to Brooke Summers.
We start with our female lead being traded for a crime she didn't commit, yet blamed for anyways. She is thrown into harrowing circumstances (please heed the trigger warnings found on the author's website). She soon meets Stag who learns about what is happening and tries to help bring the truth to light. This couple definitely evolved over the story as they learned more about each other and faced a common enemy. With plenty of intrigue, this story was an interesting read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
ARC received for review
Warning...this book has rape and beatings of the heroine from the beginning. It's not pretty.
Stag meets Kinsley after she has been "punished" and he falls hard and fast. No one knows what she has gone through, but when they find out...the sh!t hits the fan. I can't wait to read the next one, but hopefully there a little less blood spilled.
*Thank you to Victory Editing, Brooke Summers and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review*
I am a huge Brooke Summers fan. I have read most of her books and she is fabulous. This one did not do it for me. When you take heavy subjects such as brutal rape, pregnancy loss, and abuse in what I perceived to be a romance novel, you must treat those subjects regarding the aftermath with respect. They kept the main character in captivity for several years while they raped repeatedly and beat her every single day. There is just no way humanly possible that she could come out of that normal and smiling. Sure you can be strong and a fighter, but she seemed to have no effects. I have loved Brooke's books but this one really bothered me.
Stag is the first in a new series by author Brook Summers. If you have triggers, this book might not be for you. However, I love a dark, gritty MC story so I had no issues!
One incident leaves Kingsley in the clutches of a man who wants to break her. Stag has spent most his years in and out of jail, now he tries to clean but when he falls for the off-limits club princess, whose finally allowed back, troubles never far off.
This story was well written, steamy, had the right amount of angst, plus much more..
I went back and forth with this book to be honest with you, there were a lot of things that I despised and a lot of things that I was like c'mon but then I kept reading because I just still wanted to know what was gonna happen. I guess let me tell you what I liked. I liked her brother Ace, even though he was clueless and should have asked more questions, but he does seem to love her. I loved Digger and the other MC who again seemed to love her, but again seem to believe all the excuses. Then we have Stag, dude, I mean he ends up coming thru for her, but yeah, he will also be in my do not like list.
what I did not like...Kinsley was raped for 3 years-3 years and yet no one in her MC knows besides her atrocious father- who allows it to happen.
Stag- who claims likes her but then bangs a club bunny and since Kinsey is off limits wants to get her out of his system, until he sees her. and then what does she do, allow him to hug her as if it was nothing, what?,...granted you weren't together but still...
She was raped, raped repeatedly without condoms and when Stag is doing her, he wants to go bare and she says she is not sure because she doesn't know if she has something and he says well will get tested, and that is it, like nothing..
However, will I continue to read, yes because I want to know what happens with Kale-Malice
3.75 stars--STAG is the first instalment in Brooke Summers’ contemporary, adult FURY VIPERS erotic, dark, MC romance series focusing on the members of the Fury Vipers MC. This is road captain Noah ‘Stag’ Wylder, and nineteen year old Club princess Kinsley Anderson’s story line.
NOTE: Some of the events of STAG cross over with, and run parallel to some of the events in BLOODY UNION, book one of the author’s MADE series.
WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise including graphic violence there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Kinsley and Stag) following two time lines STAG focuses on the building relationship between Fury Vipers MC road captain Noah ‘Stag’ Wylder, and nineteen year old Club princess Kinsley Anderson. Three years earlier, at the age of fifteen, Kinsley’s life imploded, leaving our heroine a shell of her former self. Fast forward to present day wherein a broken Kinsley Anderson returns to the Fury Vipers MC, the only family she has ever known, but a return predicated upon secrets and lies. In the years since Kinsley has been ‘gone’ the membership of the Fury Vipers has changed, including the arrival of a new road captain Noah ‘Stag’ Wylder. Stag knows immediately that all is not well with the return of our heroine, and Stag is willing to place himself in the direct line of fire to uncover the truth, and protect the woman with whom he will fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Stag and Kinsley, and the potential fall-out as betrayal at the top forces the Fury Vipers MC to take action in the hopes of destroying everyone who hurt our story line heroine.
Kinsley Anderson knows betrayal first hand, and three years of darkness and h*ll meant three years wherein she would be broken and scarred but the people she loved had no idea to the extent of our heroine’s tragic, helpless and gut-wrenching life, a life she believes is out of her control. Noah ‘Stag’ Wylder doesn’t do relationships, having found a family with the Fury Vipers MC but the return of the Club President’s daughter begins a slow burn of attraction but a burn that is about to set fire to the people in charge.
The relationship between Stag and Kinsley is one of immediate attraction but Kinsley is in no condition or the right frame of mind to enter into a romantic affair. Left broken and battered from the previous three years, Kinsley fears that a return to the Fury Vipers MC is temporary until the reality of her situation sets into motion a vengeance on our heroine’s behalf. Stag’s instant attraction to Kinsley is filled with raw emotion, an emotion that triggers his need to protect the woman with whom he will fall in love. The $ex scenes are intimate and erotic.
We are introduced to the members of the Fury Vipers MC including president Jaws Anderson, VP Tobias ‘Ace’ Anderson, Digger, Preacher, Pyro, Mayhem, as well as the return of Makenna Gallagher (Bloody Union-Made #1), and several members of the Hangman’s Disciples including Stuart ‘Venom’ Usry, Blade and Ripper , and Kinsley’s friend Malice.
STAG is a story of betrayal and vengeance, retribution and power, grief and sorrow, menace and torment. The premise is dark, raw and gritty; the romance is provocative and healing; the characters are broken, crushed, dynamic and strong. STAG ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.
I want to reiterate the trigger warning as the story line content is graphic and heart breaking.

A really enjoyable read. I liked Stag and Kingsley characters. Looking forward to the next book. 4*.
Brooke Summers brings a story to life and keep you entranced the whole way through. I have been dying for Kinsley book and wasn’t disappointed. The true life of an MC was lived through her eyes. Her heart and her struggle was brought through every word. You have the story of Kinsley from teenager to adult. The love and the struggles and the heartbreak. And in the end that true love through it all with Stag. Stag is who Kinsley needed. It’s hard to explain a story without giving it away. I loved that Makenna was brought in from Made series but you couldn’t tell Kinsley story without Makenna. I can’t wait for more! As always Brooke is a one click buy for me and even though this is a ARC is still help support our authors.
*** I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review***
This is the first in a new series and is Stag and Kinsley’s journey. Stag is the Road Captain for the Fury Vipers MC, and Kinsley is the club princess who is strictly off limits. Kinsley is strong, brave, loyal, and courageous, and from the moment she and Stag meets there is a magnetic pull between them. This is a beautifully written story which is dark, raw, gritty, intense, and an emotional roller coaster, with loyalty, turmoil, redemption, healing, and love, which leads to a riveting and heartwrenching addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Be aware there may be triggers for some readers due to the sensitive content!
4 Stars for this dark romance!
This book is very dark and deals with lots of sensitive issues. It may contain triggers for some people. I know that this book is fiction, but things like this really does happen in the world and that frightens me. I liked that even though Stag is loyal to his MC, he has a mind of his own. Kinsley has an inner strength that she doesn't even realize she has. There is a twist at the end and I can't wait for the next book.
When Kinsley's best friend gets killed in a car accident, Kinsley is blamed. Her father (the Prez of the Fury Vipers MC) gives her to the father of the boy killed (who is the Prez of another MC). Her father tells the Vipers that she is away at school. For three years she is abused at the hands of many members of the rivil MC. Then for some reason (which I don't know) she is allowed to go to her old MC. Stag joined the Vipers shortly after Kinsley left and when he finally meets her, he is drawn to her. He knows she is off-limits to him as she is the Princess, but he has to find out what has caused the sadness in the eyes.
I received an early copy courtesy of Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
This is the first MC book that I have read and I absolutely loved it!
My heart absolutely broke for Kinsley with everything that she had to go through. There were a few times where I was close to tears reading her parts. She is such a strong person who went through so much.
I love the way that she regarding all of the Fury Vipers as her family and how they would all do anything to protect hr, even those that had only spoken to her on the phone due to her not being around
Stag has heard nothing but amazing things about Kinsley but knows that she is off limits due to her being the Club Princess. However, the more he sees her and gets to know her, the harder it is for him to stay away.
When he finds out about what she has been going through he made sure that she would always be safe, no matter what he had to do to ensure that
Overall, I loved this book and couldn’t put it down once I started it. I can’t wait for future books from the series to read the stories of the other Vipers
This was a great start to a new series! It's the first book I'm reading by Brooke Summers and I'm looking forward to reading others. This is a very intense, dark read that touches on a lot of difficult topics. I think the author handled these triggers really well - she wrote about rape and abuse in an honest, straightforward manner. The main female lead, Kinsley, was tough despite everything she had gone through. She was incredibly brave and loyal to her friends and family.
Stag was just the right amount of possessive and totally in love with Kinsley. I loved watching the two of them get closer and watching that protective side come out in Stag. He was just what Kinsley needed, always putting her fears of shame and unworthiness to rest.
I haven't really read many biker club romances before so this is a new area to me, but I'm excited to delve more into this world now! Looking forward to the other books in what is sure to be a great series!
Stag By Brooke Summers is book in the Fury Vipers MC and is Stag and Kinsley's story. This is a very dark read. Please check your triggers before reading because the subject matter within may be upsetting. I raged read the first half of this book and I hope that the road to revenge happens throughout this series. I can't wait to read more of this series.
Kinsley is the daughter of the MC president so one would think that she’d be the protected princess right? Unfortunately a tragic accident early on creates an avalanche of heartache for her, that is almost unbearable (truly heartbreaking). Fast forward a few years and she’s finally coming home meeting Stag, one of the newer MC members in person for the first time. Aimless after some time prison a friendship with Ace, the MC VP, brings purpose to Stag’s life, but what’s the number one rule, no biker should touch Kinsley. Unfortunately, there’s something about Kinsley that can’t keep him away, but Kinsley is broken (warranted for sure) and she’s not sure that even Stag can keep her together. There’s a lot of anguish and challenges that this relationship has to overcome but both Kinsley and Stag are tough and their chemistry is undeniable, if only the MC doesn’t implode in the process of their relationship. Please, please, please read the content warning! I’ve read several books by this author ( I highly recommend her Irish Mafia series which intertwined with this book, so plenty of familiar faces); and she definitely has a dark and edgy vibe but the beginning of this book gutted me. It is a dark MC romance, and let me just tell you it is pitch black dark so get out your tissues, but the great thing is the females characters are quite strong which makes you want to cheer as most MC stories have weak and sometimes whiny women. If you can handle the drama you’ll soon realize this MC is not your ordinary one and it’s members, Stag included, have a great blend of tough and soft. I can’t wait for more. 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed an arc copy of this book. All thoughts an opinions are my own.
I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
This was a very dark romance that may trigger a lot of readers.
Ace and Kinsley have a connection but Kinsley does not belong to Ace. Ace is determined however to make Kinsley his. If you like hardcore biker stories this would be a book for you.
This story will pull you in and keep you on the edge of your seats. The characters are captivating.Stag sometimes wishes he had the love an connection his brothers of his MC have now that they met their soul mate.Kinsley is strong stubborn Italian beauty she's tired of her family trying to always set her up on blind dates. She's on a really bad blind date when she looks over toward the bar she sees a gorgeous man muscles for days he has a beard and the most gorgeous eyes that can see her soul or that's how she feels. But then she sees a woman with him an he'd been staring right at her. There are so many twists an turns you'll be riveted until the very last page and leave you begging for more.
Thanks for the advanced reader.
This was just too dark for me. There were too many triggers in it. I didn’t expect the violence the main character had to endure. I did not finish it and can’t give it a honest review. It just is not my cup of tea.
