This was a cute story! The illustrations are lovely & enjoyed how the story transcends that liminal space between reality & imagination.
I enjoyed how the one friend was more ground & down to earth while the other friend was more creative & big on dreaming. I like stories that play with those two personality types.
I did have a bit of a hard time keeping track of which one was Walter & which one was Willy, but that's probably just me & my general trouble with keeping track of names & faces.
Walter and Willy in Outer Space is about Willy who wants to be the first pig in outer space. But it’s more difficult than he imagined to get there. Walter, his friend, comes along and helps him to build a rocket ship.
A cute little read about friendship and teamwork. A great read for young kids who likes outer space, and to learn about the importance of teamwork and friendship. The artwork was so beautifully made, which was my favorite about the book and the reason for the four stars!
Happy reading!
A great imagination makes things happen. Willy and the help of his brother Walter, use their imagination to go to space. Your children will be inspired with imagination too when they see brother piggy Walter and Willy having fun while learning about space.
A special thank you to Clavis Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review
Walter and Willy in Outer Space is a sweet and uplifting story about 1 pig who dreams of going up into space but can’t seem to find a way to get there, and his wonderfully supportive friend who helps inspire new ideas and way to try to make his dream happen. This book is a great story about teamwork and never giving up.
Very cute story for kiddos of all ages - my 3 year old and 7 year old enjoyed both the adorable illustrations and the story message about teamwork, friendship and using their imaginations to achieve their goals.
Read this book for my toddler's nap time. Willy yearns to blast off to outer space. With Walter's help, he attempted at pogo sticks, trampoline to stay above ground. Then he made a wish upon a star. Later they built a shuttle to fly to outer space.
I enjoyed reading about Walter and Willy’s mission to go to outer space. Such a cute story. The illustrator did a grand job too, very appealing and colourful.
This was cute! I’ve read a Walter and Willy book before (the big city one) and enjoyed it a lot, so I thought I’d check this one out! I think I enjoyed the other one more, but this was still a quick and fun read, I wish the ending had gotten expanded upon a little more, but I still enjoyed it!
I love the art style of the Walter and Willy books! They’re colorful, and the character designs are adorable..
This book focused on imagination, friendship, and not giving up -:all great themes for children to read about!
This imaginative creative book is about two friends teaming up to make a wish come true. Willy wants with all his heart to be the first piggy to travel into outerspace. When he discusses it with his BFF Walter it seems it's a wish that can never become a reality. Really? Where there's a will... there's a way and the duo put their heads together to build their very own rocket ship to launch and enjoy an unforgettable adventure in space ( conjured up in their minds ) that they both can share!
The illustrations are fantastic! The characters are adorable and the colour pallet is bright and engaging. The story includes the themes of friendship, working together and problem solving. It encourages kids to follow their dreams whether they can become a reality or can be a made-up simulation in their minds.
I highly recommend this book. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Illustrations were adorable in this story. It's all about not giving up and using your imagination. I could see reading this to my nephew and him loving it.
Adorable story about the power of imagination and friendship as these two pigs learn that they can achieve their dreams when they brainstorm and work together! Little kids will be inspired to take up their own imaginary journeys after reading.
This is precious! I love the illustrations and the creativity. The distinguishing marks on the pigs faces to tell them apart are a great idea too: I could see this being a hit with my nieces and nephews!
The artwork is absolutely beautiful. My little cousin loved this story. I loved the pigs vivid and colorful imagination! This was such an adorable story about Walter and Willy, two pigs best friend. Walter has a dream of going to space. with the help of his friend, Willy, the two set out to find methods that would work while have fun. This story was positive and I loved the minimalist artwork.
Overall this is a cute book. It’s about a young pig who wants to go to space and his best friend who helps him try different methods to get there. My kid loved it and wanted me to read it several times.
This middle of the story was fun and delighted my kid. The ending was a bit abrupt. And two first two pages needed a little explanation for my child to understand. To be fair, they are not yet 5. And the book is recommended for 5 and up. Younger kids enjoyed the book too.
Tonight I surprised my kids with this new Willy and Walter book for bedtime!
They were so excited as we read other Willy and Walter boo,s atleast once a week.
This was another great installment full of fun and imagination.
We all really enjoyed this story and can't wait for another one!
I read this along with my children for a bedtime story they both loved it. Such a cute little story and a helpful push in imaginative play. The day after reading we also built rocket ships to outer space. I hope there are more water and willy adventures . Great job! We loved the art work it captivated my 3 year old.
Two young pigs visit space with the help of their imagination and each other. This was a cute story that touched on themes of imagination, teamwork, and cooperative play. The story had a bit of an episodic feel, and the ending was a little abrupt, but the gentle artwork and story made it a worthwhile read for young children (preschool through kindergarten).
Thankyou Netgalley for providing me a free copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.
This book is about a pig who does everything he can in order to travel In space.
This is perfect read for kids .
This book teaches the importance of having dreams which may not be acceptable by society or atleast new for them
This was such a sweet, quick, and fun read. My two kids (6 and 3) loved Walter and Willy’s imaginative trip to outer space and immediately asked for their own rocket ship. The illustrations are so cute (love the teeny lizard and spider that sneak into the scenes). It’s the perfect length for little kids.
Many thanks to Net Galley and Clavis Publishing for the advance copy!
