Gideon is a Colton who is trying to do the best he can to help bring his family's name up after the problems his father caused. Working as a social worker he does everything he can to help take care of the kids he's working with. Dr.Sophia was a women from his past and a bit of a workaholic doing everything she can as well to care for the kids she helps including the newest clearly battered child and mother. Together they'll help mother and child but it seems the abusive father isn't happy with Dr.Sophia and clearly now after her.

I enjoyed this book. I loved the amount of care these two had for those they wish to protect. Then there was the romance that was revamping after it didn't work out the first time. There was a few tense moments where it was a question if the abusive father would find them and I loved the suspense of wondering when and how he would. Then there was the moment of when they should meet because this guy clearly wants what he considers him and Gideon and Sophia would do everything they can to protect the mother and child. Overall great book I really enjoyed read it.

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the third book in the Coltons of Colorado series. There was parts of this book I loved, but there was parts I did not love. I loved how Gideon Colton who is a social worker could get so close to the kid so quickly. I felt Gideon's character was a strong and calming guy, and I felt he was a big teddy bear until someone made him become more. I really loved Gideon's character. I really did not love Dr. Sophia character because I just could not connect with her character at all. I also felt there was way to much inner dialogue in this book, and I think that took away for the storyline. The suspense would have been better if there was less inner dialogue because you could not really get into the suspense/build up because it was broken up with the characters always second guessing every less thing. The romance was a second chance romance, but I really did not think the two character fit together well at all. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Harlequin Romantic Suspense) or author (Justine Davis) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
