In her Harlequin Desire debut Montana Legacy, Katie Frey has written a fiery, emotional and dramatic tale contemporary romance fans will thoroughly enjoy.

Nick Hartmann feels like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders. Not only does the Montana rancher have the constant worry of losing his family’s land and legacy constantly weighing heavily on him, but after the death of his brother he is now guardian to his orphaned niece, Alix. Nick does not know the first thing about teenage girls and he needs help – urgently! Placing an ad for a tutor for Alix seems like the most sensible of options – only Nick hadn’t counted on Oxford educated Mary Kelly coming to Montana all the way from England and turning his whole world upside down! Yet, little does Nick realize that Mary has secrets that could end up jeopardizing his family and his livelihood…

The death of her sister Mary had hit Rose Kelly hard. The two siblings might have been as different as chalk and cheese, but there was simply nothing in this world that could ever come between them. Desperate to get away from her life in England, when grief-stricken Rose spots Nick’s ad, she decides to impersonate her sister and flies all the way to Montana to take the job. Rose had thought that algebra and geology would end posing the biggest challenges – not finding herself falling head over heels in love with her boss!

Sparks immediately begin to fly between Nick and Rose and as their attraction and their feelings for one another intensify, they begin to fall for one another. But with Rose keeping her true identity a secret and Nick desperate not to put Alix and his family’s land in jeopardy, is a future between them at all possible? Or will Rose’s lies put paid to any hope they might have had of spending the rest of their lives together?

Katie Frey’s Montana Legacy is a promising debut that sizzles and sparkles with heat, intensity, humor and emotion. Katie Frey’s engaging writing style pulls readers into the story and they will surely fall in love with spirited and kind-hearted Rose and brooding and charismatic Nick.

My only qualm was that I felt there were far too many characters introduced in the first chapter that left me slightly confused at first, but on the whole I found Montana Legacy to be a compelling contemporary romance that left me excited to read what Katie Frey writes next.

This is a Cowboy Romance. This book was just ok. I feel that there was just to much lying and characters not talking to each other. I also felt the two main characters just jumped into bed before they know each, and it felt weird. I felt the characters where just ok. I just wanted to more for this book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Harlequin Desire) or author (Katie Frey) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
