This book is an easy, breezy read . It’s got all the ingredients: high school sweethearts, a small-town setting, a charming cowboy single dad, and of course, a second chance at love.
The story follows Colin and Nancy, who were madly in love back in high school. But when Nancy left for college, their relationship fizzled out. Now she’s back in town to help with her best friend’s wedding, and the sparks between her and Colin start flying again.
It’s a sweet, heartwarming read with "small town vibes" that made me smile. My favorite character by far was Bex, Colin’s adorable and well-written daughter, who brought so much life to the story.
That said, I did feel like some of the plot points were a little rushed, leaving me wanting more depth and development. The romantic scenes, in particular, felt a bit underwhelming—like they were over before they really began. Still, it’s a fun escape with plenty of charm for anyone who enjoys a second-chance romance!

Colin McCabe is opening up his ranch for a big wedding. This will get the word out hopefully to people and bring in guests to his ranch. What he did expect was to also still have feelings for his ex-high school sweetheart Nancy Sharp who left for the big city to be a wedding planner. Now she is back as the wedding planner and the maid of honor. Working side by side with her has brought back those feelings that really never left and once they are acted on will she leave again? Read this good story to find out what happens.
A lovely small town cowboy romance, the usual first love finds its way back, im a big fan of leslie north and this book was lovely
This is a good book. The two main characters are Nancy and Colin. They have know each other all their lives. Nancy has come home to be the event planner at her best friend’s wedding. Colin own a ranch. They still have an attraction between them. Nancy’s best friend’s wedding is at Colin’s ranch. They have issues from bosses who keep calling, a tornado that tears the ranch up, a sweet little girl, and some crazy bridesmaids. They both fall in love again.
I always enjoy books by Mary Sue Jackson. In the second book of the Windy Creek Romance we meet Colin & Nancy who were high school sweethearts. Nancy left to go to the city to become a wedding planner and never look backed. Colin had to raise his teenage sister after his parents died suddenly and is now raising his niece Bex after his sister signed over her parental rights. Colin is hosting his best friends wedding at his ranch and Nancy comes back to town. What follows is some angst, romance and HEA.
I received this book from Netgalley for my honest review.

This was a nice easy read, I could totally picture this as a film, as it would make a really nice rom-com. It truly felt like the kind of film I'd find myself watching on a relaxing Sunday. You get to see the story of Colin and Nancy, high school sweethearts. They were hopelessly in love in high school, but when Nancy moved away to college they ended up breaking up. Now Nancy is back in town to plan and go to her best friend's wedding. We then see Nancy and Colin find their way back to each other.
This book has
-Small town vibes
-Cowboy
-Single Dad
-Second chance romance
My main criticism of the book is that at times it felt like events happened and were over too quickly. The book didn't flow that well and I wanted more from some of the plot points. A lot of the plot points didn't feel fully developed or explored. The sex also was not detailed enough for me, it was over before it started.
The main character of the book for me was Bex, Colin's daughter she was really well written and a super cute character.
This is Book 2 in the Windy Creek Romances. It is a second chance romance between Colin and Nancy who were together back in high school. But Nancy left town to pursue a career as an event planner in a the city and Colin was left behind with a broken heart. Colin couldn't leave his home because he was left with the responsibility of caring for his teenage sister after his parents died. Things had not been easy for them, and his sister ended up pregnant. Well, seems like Colin's child rearing days were not done, because he was left to care for his niece while his sister went off to college. He adopted Bex and was officially her dad, and he was an excellent father to her. Now he is focusing on promoting the ranch and hosting his best friend's wedding might just do the trick. As it turns out, the wedding planner and maid of honor is none other than his ex Nancy. Nancy runs into Colin when she is back in town and has a chance to see him interact with Bex. As they spend more time together, they realize their feelings never really went away and are getting stronger the more they are together. Will they now have a chance to see where things might have gone?
I enjoyed the plot and storyline and the characters were great. The story is filled with emotion and heart, and plenty of sizzling chemistry. This was a wonderful addition to the series and I can't wait to read the next one.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

This second chance romance had me completely engaged from the word go. This book follows the rekindling of a romance between Colin, a single parent to the adorable Bex and owner of the Mustang Crossing Dude Ranch, and Nancy, an events planner who is struggling to decide if she wants to stay her city job and lifestyle as they both pool together to plan their best friends, Nick and Evie's, dream wedding on the ranch.
This was a very enjoyable read and had me engrossed for the entirety of the book. I would highly recommend this to any romance lovers.

Windy Creek Romances Book 2.
Hosting his best friend’s big fat country wedding is the perfect opportunity for Colin McCabe to promote his dude ranch and event space. But he hadn’t realized it would mean working side-by-side with the Maid of Honor and wedding planner, Nancy. AKA, his high school sweetheart…
Nancy Sharp always knew her dreams were too big for the tiny Texas town she grew up in. She left for a career as an event planner in the big city, and never looked back. But now that she’s home to plan the wedding, sparks begin to fly with a certain tall, Stetsoned, and handsome ex. Seeing Colin with the adorable niece he’s raising by himself makes Nancy yearn for a family of her own. And she can’t help but wonder… What if she had stayed? As they battle their feelings—and a series of wedding mishaps—Colin and Nancy fall for each other all over again. But what will happen once the wedding is over?
Another great read from this great duo. Great story. 5*.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was exciting and had plenty to keep you reading . The main characters were intriguing and interesting. I was not disappointed in the end and have no hesitation in recommending that you read it.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the 2nd book in a series, but reads as a stand alone. I wanted to like the story, as it has interesting elements. Colin is the father to his niece, but seems to take it a bit to far. I guess he had to grow up quick, and blames himself for his sister's mistakes. Nancy seems to just be a pushover and was sort of annoying as well. Overall its an ok read but nothing special for me. 3 stars
Nancy and Colin make a very cute couple. Colin's daughter, Bex, just adds to the cuteness. Trust is an issue throughout the book. It is hard won which makes it even more sweeter. I loved reading, Her Second Chance Cowboy.

Her Second Chance Cowboy by Mary Sue Jackson is the second book in the Windy Creek Romance series. This book can easily be read as a standalone romance. While the previous book is set in the same small town, it is not required reading to enjoy this one!
I absolutely loved this book! It made me feel all the feels and was tugging on my heart strings! There was so much to love about this second chance romance. It felt like a grown up version of a Hallmark movie with all the swoon worthy magic!
This book was beautifully written, with engaging characters and a wonderful storyline! I thought the story was well laid out and captivating. The characters were so likable and I wanted so much more of them! (Maybe their story will continue in a future book!)
If you are looking for an amazing second chance romance, you must read this one!!!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I agree with those that didn't really buy into Colin and Nancy as a couple from almost the beginning he was snappy with Nancy, and the book blames it all on his being an overprotective father. I am sure that played into it, but I also think it was part of his personality because he had to grow up fast and become a father to his niece. This love story just didn't ring true to me.
I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
Nancy and Colin get a second chance at love after Nancy returns from Boulder to help her friend as a wedding planner and maid of Honor.
Colin now has his young niece Bex to take care of and is very protective of her. Bex loves Nancy and doesn’t want her to leave but Colin too has fallen back in love with her.
Are the two too stubborn to work out their differences? A tornado and some deep lessons teach them that they can’t deny love.
I had a difficult time enjoying Her Second Chance Cowboy. I felt like it was all very “surfacey”. Colin wanted to protect his niece, Bex, but came across as rude more often than not. Nancy was a pushover and let everyone walk all over her. It was an okay book, but not one I would highly recommend.
This book was okay. It is a good mindless read that carries you along. I was a little disappointed in Nancy. She allowed everyone to push her around.
Her Second Chance Cowboy is such a good read! I throughly enjoyed falling in love with the characters and reading about the characters following in love again. If you are looking for a happily ever, this is the book for you. It has a second chance love and single dad trope. I loved that this was a quick and sweet read, perfect for a cozy weekend indoors.
I picked this book as I wanted a quick-no-intelligence-needed read in between my more factual and academic reads.
It fits the bill perfectly!
Easy flowing text, the expected attraction and outcome between the two leads, some annoying brides maids (as is always the case at weddings), a sweet little girl and a HEA.
All in all an OK way to spend a few hours.
