A moving memoir about the immigrant struggle and success. I really appreciated the chapters spent on his parents, so the reader is able to get a larger sense of what an impact moving to Canada meant to his parents. A mix of serious life lessons and the natural laughs that go along with it.
He has become one of my favorite actors and his book was well written with humor and lots of love for his heritage!
This book was a delight to read! I hope there is an audiobook with Simu Liu narrating it, because I think it would be even better to hear these stories from the author.
This book delivers all the feels! I laughed, cried, and felt my heart warm in the first chapter. I can’t wait to recommend this book to readers at the library! I think it will appeal to a wide variety of readers!
#netgalleyarc I love a good biography, especially when it’s someone that I’m familiar with and a fan of. I really enjoy the author as an actor and enjoyed learning about his life and how he got into acting. A good read and one I will definitely purchase for my high school library. #teammarvel
Honest, heartbreaking, real, joyful. All words I would use to describe this memoir. I absolutely loved getting a peek in Simu Liu's life - a journey into asian diaspora that I could not put down. I'm not sure if Liu used a ghost writer or not, but this was incredibly readable and well written. I enjoyed his signature wit and humor that we see on his Twitter account, and hope that this story can find its way to anyone struggling with their identity, who feel like they're a crossroads between the culture they come from and the life they're creating.
