A helpful and very readable guide to starting your own food or beverage business. Or not starting one--the author is pretty honest that sometimes it's not a great idea to sink your own money and that of your friends and investors into a business with a very narrow profit margin. He starts with four archetypes who have different experience and interest, and then you can choose-your-own-adventure your way through the book. This is not a "for dummies" book, and you will not find charts and lists to get you started. It's a little less organized than that. But it will give you a lot to think about as you consider whether and how to start your own food business.
This is a great book for anyone thinking of starting a food business. It makes you think about scenarios that you may not have considered, as well as the restrictions and red tape you may run into along the way. It's very cleverly written so that you get to role play, makes decisions and see how those decisions may affect the business in question. I highly recommend this book.
