It’s always fun to go back to Mackinac Island and the McMurphy Hotel. You never know what Allie, Rex, and Mal might be up to. As always, the story line was great and held my interest. I love the characters and the way they inner act with each other. I always enjoy friends who take care of each other and treat each other like family. I really want some of that fudge that Allie makes. I can’t wait to go back. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.

A Midsummer Night's Fudge was a delightful cozy mystery that I truly enjoyed reading.

It's set during the Midsummer Night's Festival where we find Allie heading home with Mal her bichonpoo. She wants to protect Mal from the fireworks but before she can arrive home she notices a body in the lake.

Allie puts on her sleuthing hat to the chagrin of her boyfriend and invests to find the culprit.

Great storyline and characters you want to get to know if they existed in real life.

Allie McMurphy, owner of the McMurphy Hotel and Fudge Shop on Mackinac Island, and her dog Mal find a body just after the fireworks display at the island's Midsummer's Night Festival. Thus begins another murder mystery to be solved by Allie and the main characters in A Midsummer's Night Fudge by Nancy Coco. This book is the tenth in her Candy-Coated Mystery series. I think this series gets better with each release. I love the characters, especially Allie and Mal. The setting of Mackinac Island makes this story especially fun. I enjoyed the twists and turns as the investigation went forward. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series.

Allie is attending a town festival when she decides to take her dog home before the fireworks Of course on her way she cannot help but find a body in the lake. The body is the chairman of the event . Allile wants to solve this murder to put away the murderer and bring peace back to her small town. The sleuth was enjoyable, the food references are always fun and I love the long time supporting charcters. The series is always fun escape reading and fast paced.

First of all, I have to say that the fudge recipes that are after the chapters are amazing and easy to make.
The story unfolds with some subplots that makes it challenging to foresee the culprit.
Love this series and the characters!

Glamorous costumes bring a magical feel to the island's first beach side ball, What a wonderful way to begin A Midsummer Night's Fudge, the 10th book in Nancy Coco's Candy-coated Mystery series, but the magic disappears when Allie spies a body floating in the water.
I am happily drawn back into Allie's world with every new book in this delightful series! I have a blast visiting the island and Allie's friends, even though Allie's tendency to put herself in danger frustrates me almost as much as it does Rex. In a Midsummer Night's Fudge, the newest book in the series, I enjoyed the natural, more definite relationship between Allie and Rex, loved Jennifer's exciting news, and laughed and ah 'ed over the way Mal wraps herself around everyone's heart with her sweetness.
Allie has been throwing herself into the community more and more, and now she has added two key committees to her busy life. It is one of those committees that pulls her into investigating multiple murders even though she again assures Rex that she has no reason to investigate. When a bullet barely misses her and another one hits a friend, the murderer has crossed a line that the young hotelier can't ignore in spite of her best intentions.
My thanks to NetGalley, Crooked Lane, and author Nancy Coco for giving me the chance to read an ARC of Midsummer Night's Fudge. I share my reviews because I enjoy sharing books that I enjoy.

Allie is happy to pitch in to help with the Midsummer Night's Festival on Mackinac Island, but the festival takes a quick turn when Winona Higer, the festival's committee chair, is found dead shortly after disqualifying one of the festival queen contestants. Is it a case of sour grapes? Or is there something deeper and more sinister happening?

Mackinac Island has been on my list of places I'd like to visit for many years. I love the idea of an island with no cars, people riding bikes and taking hikes and the clip clop of horses hooves on the pavement. Allie has the fun job of making fudge in the front window of her family's historic hotel, which she's spent the last few years renovating to its former glory. When she's not busy with that she's walking her little dog Mal, who sniffs out corpses like most dogs sniff out a squirrel.

This book felt a little rushed. There were parts of it that were a bit of a whirlwind. I thought more time could have been spent on some of the things that were happening, particularly when the first body was found. I also thought Allie, who's had quite a bit of experience with this whole murder thing by now, was surprisingly irresponsible when it came to the crime scenes. She touched and moved evidence on several occasions, which any devoted cozy reader knows is a big no no. Allie also took a lot of unnecessary chances. In this book there was a sniper on the island, picking off festival committee members in random locations throughout the island, but Allie never heeded anyone's advice to stay in where she would be safe (and their silly suggestions that she would be safe if she wasn't alone) and she was convinced that as long as she was on Main street she would be fine. Taking risks is one thing but the way she reacted to Rex's repeated pleas that she protect herself seemed quite childish.

Overall I enjoyed this book. This is a series that I always keep up with. A Midsummer Night's Fudge was not one of the best in the series, but definitely worth reading.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.

The Midsummer Night festivities are in full swing on Mackinac Island and Allie is doing her best to keep the visitors in fudge while training a new employee and enjoying the festivities. Before the fireworks start, Allie decides to take Mal home so the fireworks won’t bother her, only o find a body in the lake. She had just seen Winona crowing the festival Queen, so how did she get there so quickly and who would have done this to her?

With the loss of Winona, Allie is asked to judge the floats in her stead and quickly finds out more than she knew was going on in town. Can Allie figure out what happened all while making the fudge, training her new employee and trying to stay alive?

I adore this series and treasure each visit to Mackinac Island with Allie and the gang. The books are well thought out with the mysteries providing plenty of red herrings and suspects. Murder an

It is always a delight to be back on the island. There were more than fireworks at this festival. Allie is once again following the clues and putting herself in danger. The dog is quite the body finder. The recipes have me drooling. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley.

Great cozy mystery! Full of emotion, love, and some laughs, plus…that yummy fudge! This is the tenth story in one of my all-time favorite cozy series and it was worth the wait!

A brazen killer is on the loose on Mackinac Island where the first Midsummer Night’s Festival is celebrating the opening of the summer season! A masquerade ball on the beach becomes a murder scene when Allie McMurphy finds a woman’s body floating near the beach. Rex Manning, Allie’s boyfriend and a local police officer, is very concerned when bodies start to pile up and they feel pressured to find the critical connection between the victims.

Action packed, humor, a great cast of characters including the pets, and several surprises in the plot make for a roller coaster of a read! The killer took me by surprise. I highly recommend this book and cozy series.

I honestly reviewed an unedited digital arc provided by NetGalley and Kensington Publishing. All opinions are my own..

While this may be the 10th book in this series, it doesn’t feel like it.

Coco has managed to keep each story fresh and exciting, while keeping you drawn in and engaged.

The characters in this series are some of my favourites in the entire cozy mystery genre.

I love the story for A Midsummer Night’s Fudge. I was able to figure out the mystery, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the journey Coco was taking us on. It was a great addition to one of my favourite series.

Mackinac Island, where the story is set, is rather a magical, unique place. It was rather telling to read about the police being called out for murder and rolling up not in cars with lights and sirens flashing but on bikes, I must admit. I guess Rex putting down his kickstand is the equivalent of turning off the sirens and getting to business? In any case, although Rex isn't alone, he'd just as rather not have girlfriend Allie putting herself in danger by asking questions. Even worse, she's rather open about letting others know she's looking into Winona's murder, even when questioning seems to put not just her but friends in danger. These supporting characters are well-rounded and courageous, however, and aren't detoured.

Who killed Winona? Why? Did it have something to do with the pageant committee? Or was it connected to her sewing circle? Why is Allie so sure the murder took place at the pier, not elsewhere? Would someone really murder someone because their daughter didn't win the event Queen title? Who is writing all those threatening notes? Why is a home vandalized? How does Allie balance her sleuthing and community service with running her business and doing fudge making demos? Is Mal the best dog ever? Are Allie and Rex really "just dating"?

Not telling. The chapters are short, often interspersed with recipes, and it's an entertaining, relatively quick read. I should also admit here that I had no clue who did it until the big reveal .Interesting mystery, well-rounded characters, fun side-stories, a smart, cute dog, and a hint of romance. What's not to like? Give it a read.

Thanks to #NetGalley and #KensingtonBooks for inviting me to spend some time with Allie and friends at picturesque Mackinac Island. Just wish I'd gotten a carriage ride while I was there.

I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book is well written and the characters are described well. I adored Allie and Rex's characters in this book. I would recommend reading the first book in this series to get to know the characters better. Overall this book is entertaining and fast paced cosy mystery. You never suspected that character to do it. This book will be in stores for $8.99 (USD) on May 24.
