Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the digital review copy. This review is my own opinion.
I’ve read all of the books in this series and they never disappoint. Hanging out with Sophie, Nina, Mars and the others is like being among friends.
Old Town is such a quaint setting and there is no shortage of intriguing if not eccentric characters in the neighborhood.
The Who’s Who of character list at the front of these books is also a great help keeping the backstories straight.
The mystery and atmospherics pulled me in right away. I just wish 5 books were published in this series a year instead of one. I recommend
Another great book in a favourite series.
I highly recommend you read the series in order; you won’t be disappointed!
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
What a great cozy mystery!
The Diva Says Cheesecake! is set during the midsummer festivities in Old Town. Bobbie, the queen of cheesecake has hired Sophie to organize a dinner party. She's open to ideas just no cheesecake.
Tate, Bobbie's husband is found dead and she asks Sophie to please find the real killer as she did not have anything to do with his demise. Digging in, Sophie discovers an assortment of Old Town locals who all had reason to want a piece of Tate.
The overall story is believable and keeps you captivated until the very end.
I may have said before.... I LOVE all Krista Davis cozy mystery series, but this one has a special place in my heart. I was in between jobs, having just gotten out of a bad one, when I discovered this series. Sophie and her friends were just what I needed at the time and they still bring a smile to my face every year when a new book comes out. I was pretty sure whodunit in this one, but that didn't take a thing away from the story. A good mystery and all the cheesecake talk had me hitting the Cheesecake Factory! 5-stars on this welcome entry in a great series! Thanks #NetGalley!
Thank you Netgalley for the advance reader copy of The Diva Says Cheesecake by Krista Davis in exchange for an honest review. I hadn't realized this was book number 15 in the series when I requested it, so my library was quickly inundated with my requests for the earlier books. In this one it's summertime and a festival is happening. Bobbie Sue is rewarding her employees for doing so well when her guy ends up dead, with her being blamed. Seeking help to clear her name, she goes on quite an adventure.
This was a new series to me, and while this was book 15 in the series, I didn't feel lost. I enjoyed the characters and the mystery.
Sophie is my hero. Every book in this series makes me want to become a domestic diva. Alas, I will likely just continue to live vicariously through her! :) Highly recommend this series and this installment is as good as the rest.
I had the pleasure of reading this book early via NetGalley; all opinions are my own.
I received this ARC via Netgalley and Kensington Books, in return for an honest review. While the fifteenth book in this series, it is easily read as a standalone. I always enjoy this series and ‘The Diva Says Cheesecake’ is another mouth-watering example in this cozy mystery series. Sophie Winston runs her own entertaining company in Old Town Alexandria, VA. She also writes a regular advice column on all things domestic. When Sophie plans a party for the staff of the Queen of Cheesecake for Midsomer Night Party, it’s a great event with one exception. Blackwell Tavern owner, Tate, doesn’t show up even though his wife, Bobbie Sue, is the Queen of Cheesecake. He also misses their two teenage children events that night. V While Bobbie Sue is concerned, she’s not ready to call in the police but wants Sophie, who has a local sleuthing reputation, to look into things. Aided by her best friend, Nina, Sophie visits the tavern and discovers Tate’s body in the basement. Was it an accident or something more sinister?
When one of Sophie’s best friends, Bernie, is accused of the crime, Sophie, Nina and their friends spring into full sleuthing mode. There are plenty of possible murderers, from Bobbie Sue, son Spencer, Spencer’s birth father, restaurant staff and, sadly, Bernie. Sophie and the gang are convinced Bernie is being set up but the evidence keeps rising.
This series always adds extra touches, like Sophie and competitor/frenemy Natasha’s competing advice columns at the beginning of each chapter. Since this book focuses on cheesecake, I learned so much about how to make one well. Gosh, do I want cheesecake now! I look forward to the next in this series, as always.
Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley. My review opinion is my own.
This is the 15th in this charming series that gets better with every book. This is a well crafted fun sleuth with great charcters. The author never disappoints . A fun engaging mystery I highly recommend.,
A well crafted cozy that continues to delight readers. The characters grow and evolve, keeping the story fresh. This series just gets better and better!! Thanks #netgalley and #Keningston for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.
The Diva series is a delight! This is number 15 so you might be a bit confused about who is who if you haven't read the others. The first one in the series was the absolute best so start there anyway. The mysteries continue to be well-crafted and the characters are wonderful. I'm enjoying the absence of a romantic storyline in these later books. Sophie has been married and has dated after the divorce but her relationship status now, with a strong group of female (and male friends) feels more authentic for her stage of life. I especially loved the details of how she entertains in the first few books and I feel like more of that has come back in this story.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.
Sophie is hired to plan a party for the Cheesecake Queen of Old Town the caveat is she can't serve Cheesecake. When Bobbie Sue's husband doesn't show up for her party, Bobbie Sue is concerned but not enough to call the police.
When Tate still hasn't come home by the early morning Bobbie Sue calls Sophie and asks for help finding her husband. Sophie and her best friend Nina go along with Bobbie Sue to search for Tate. Sophie is the one to find him, dead in his restaurant's basement.
At first, Bobbie Sue tries to hire Sophie to find out what happened, but as time passes Bobbie Sue changes her tune.
When Bernie a friend of Sophie and owner of a competing restaurant is accused of Tate's murder, Sophie can't leave it alone and has to find out who killed him.
The mystery was very well done, a lot of twists and turns. Natasha is still part of the story, but not nearly as annoying as previous books.
I always worry that as a series progresses the series will decline in quality. I can say this one is as good; (dare I say even better?) than earlier books.
If you love cozy mysteries, lots of food references, and a amateur detective with a dog you'll love this book.
I really enjoyed this chapter in the series. I always love catching up with these characters and seeing what's happening around town. The mystery kept me guessing until the very end. Excited to see what's next for Sophie and the gang.
The Diva is back in the 15th installment of the Domestic Diva Mystery series! I have loved this series on audiobook, but the ebook was equally enjoyable. Krista Davis has created a world that I love to visit--her characters now feel like real friends and I am invested in their lives! The mystery is twisty and difficult to solve, the plot is quick paced and absorbing, and catching up with the gang is so satisfying. I am looking forward to the next visit to Olde Town.
The recipes look so yummy---we are making the Japanese cheesecake this weekend.
Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Books for giving me the ARC I requested. All opinions are my own. I enjoy sharing great reads with my friends and followers.

The Diva Says Cheesecake (A Domestic Diva Mystery #15) by Krista Davis is a delicious read! I’m literally sitting here after finishing this very good book craving chocolate cheesecake now. I always enjoy this series but I believe this is one of the best. Sophie is looking for Tate’s killer while trying to prove her friend isn’t framed for it, even though it’s looking sadly like it was him. The murder, the food, the danger, and the friendship all make a wonderful story that keeps you reading until the very end.
Latest entry to Krista Davis' Domestic Diva Mystery series and it doesn't disappoint. After their good friend Bernie Frie becomes the main suspect in the murder of Tate Bodoin, Sophie, Nina and Mars are determined to clear his name.
Tate's wife, Bobbie Sue, the Queen of Cheesecake, wants Sophie to find the murder too, but when the evidence points to Bernie she is content to accept that.
Blood on Bernie's car, a missing knapsack/book bag, a scam to skim money from Tate's restaurant and a mysterious tall woman dressed in black, create other suspects and red herrings to follow.
Well written and resolved. Of course all the friends eat well at Sophie's and the recipes, which include cheesecakes, are provided at the end of the book.
I received this book from Kensington Publishing and NetGalley for review. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I was given a copy of this book by the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Sophie is back at it when the husband of a new friend is found dead, bashed in the head with a champagne bottle. When Bernie, one of her best friends and a competitor of th3 dead man, is arrested for the murder, Sophie and her friends must figure out who did it.
But with a suspect list as long as her grocery list, can Sophie figure out this mystery before she’s the next one to die?!
Cheesecake is never boring. Even though this is the fifteenth in a series, it is still a delightful and charming story. There was more to the story than a murder. Yes, I was craving cheesecake long before I finished the book. Familiar characters and new. The critters add to the tale. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley.
This is my favorite cozy series of all time and I was delighted to receive an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. Many series start to feel stale after so many books, but Davis keeps this series as fresh as ever. All of the secondary characters that we have grown to love show back up for this episode, when Sophie helps to solve the murder of a local restaurateur. As usual, several possible suspects emerge, and while some were more likely than others, I had no idea who the killer was until it was revealed. Many red herrings plus we learn a lot about a core character that we didn't know before. Four out of five stars.
Thank you Netgalley and Kensington for allowing me to read and review The Diva Says Cheesecake! I was so excited to read the next book in the Diva series and I was not disappointed. Krista Davis continues to write good mysteries that keep you thinking throughout the book. The stories are solid and the characters are consistent throughout the series. The recipes that are provided are at the end of the book so it doesn’t disrupt the continuity of the book or pad it so that it appears longer. I can’t wait for the the next book in the series.
