Totally romantic and sigh-worthy! I liked the pairing of Harper, a beautiful fashionista realtor with Rusty, a good-hearted, sensitive mechanic whose appearance was quite rustic. At first glance they were an unlikely match but their backstories made them perfect for each other. I also loved the way the author wove a subtle message of gentleness and forbearance for yourself and others into the story. This book can stand on its own but you will appreciate the recurring characters from previous books more if you start at the beginning of the series. Highly recommend! I received an advance copy from Thomas Nelson via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are mine in this voluntary review.
I requested to read and review this boom for free from Thomas Nelson a trademark of Harper Collins. This book is fantastic! Another winner from Kathleen Fuller. This book has romance, mystery, drama! The BB are in this as long as the CC. These ladies are who you want in your back corner. They have your back whether you want it or not. In this story Harper looks like does she have it all! But does she really and is she happy. Rusty is happy but is something missing from his life or someone? Time will tell. I can say communication is something that definitely needs to be used. Just because something looks like it's the best doesn't necessarily mean it is. This book is for any type of reader and can be read anywhere!
Kathleen Fuller has written the sweetest romance in Sold on Love! I've read all three books in this series and Sold on Love is my absolute favorite! 5 stars!
Sophisticated real estate broker and fashion lover Harper Wilson is the main character in this friends-to-lovers story. Mechanic and good ole country boy Rusty Evans is her polar opposite in that he doesn't care anything for fashion or appearances, but he does have a thing for Harper and her beauty. Their slow burn attraction and getting to know each other is a comedy of errors and I enjoyed all its charm and laughs along the way. I loved both these characters.
I also loved that Fuller included an older couple, Harper's parents Madge and Don, and their marriage challenges in this book. It was so accurate and realistic it added a nice balance to the young love storyline.
Sold on Love is a "dreams can come true" happy ever after story that I highly recommend for solid reading enjoyment. Kathleen Fuller has a winner on her hands! I appreciate Thomas Nelson making a copy of Sold on Love available for review. All thoughts and opinions are my very own.
I've been reading every book in this series and falling in love every time a little more with Maple falls and his stories
.
Kathleen Fuller has a different structure, when writing her stories they have several points of view, that of both main characters and some secondary characters that shape the story
.
Sold on Love is the story of Harper Wilson the real estate agent trying to establish herself in Maple Falls and Rusty the town mechanic. Two opposites that gradually get to know each other and develop more than a simple attraction between them
.
Harper is the opposite extreme, always in perfect posture and professional attire, working without rest or days off. All styling and perfection until her Mercedes starts to fail and Rusty shows up to save her. The gentle and considerate town mechanic who always tries to help his customers spend less, with his southern manners and a lot of patience
.
Maple falls is one of those small towns that one can't help but fall in love with, where senior citizens embrace this third generation who wants to bring the shine back to their community and town
.
Rusty is so sweethearted and perfect for Harper, the way they both find each other and support each other is beautifully written. Love their story and although the second story portrayed is important in Harper's story I couldn't really connect with Madge.
.
This is the third book in the series, a Romance with closed doors with a lot of chemistry and depth that makes you want to return to Maple falls soon
.
Thanks to Kathleen Fuller and Thomas Nelson for give me this beautiful book that I really enjoyed reading
I really enjoyed this book as much as the others in the series. I love series like this that follow the lives of friends in small towns.
This checked off everything I look for in a book. Was not disappointed. Really enjoyed this book. I will read more from this author.
Sold on Love, by Kathleen Fuller, introduces you to Harper Wilson, a realtor who will push for a sale at all costs. Her Mercedes has broken down yet again and she has minutes to meet some potential clients before getting to the church to be an attendant in her friend’s wedding. Thankfully Rusty Jenkins, the town’s mechanic, is available to pick her up and help her complete all of her commitments!
After a single dance at the wedding reception, it is now two months later and Rusty needs Harper’s assistance to locate a new home for himself and his grandfather. This is what Harper does best; however, her changing feelings toward Rusty are getting in the way!
Before Harper can track down the ideal home for Rusty, she actually talks him into being a contestant in a bachelor auction. Harper can hardly believe the difference a haircut and a new set of clothes can make for a mechanic who never had considered changing his look. Harper wonders who he will impress more, the judges at the auction or possibly herself!
You will be surprised by all the changes that take place by the end of this tale!
Sold On Love by Kathleen Fuller
I am new to the kindle world, which as a future librarian, is something I should not be admitting. Reading "Sold on Love" on a kindle was an entirely new experience, and I was impressed. If you have read any of my previous book reviews, you already know I am a huge fan of Kathleen Fuller and the Maple Falls book series. "Sold On Love" was a great read, and I found myself talking to the book as though the characters could hear me. It annoys my husband when I do that while watching TV – but I just can't seem to help it. I get completely enveloped in the story and become emotionally attached to Harper.
We first met Harper in "Hooked on You" (book 1 of the series), and I was excited to get a better glimpse into her life and know her a bit more. When we are first introduced to Harper (in books 1 and 2), we see a woman determined to make a real estate success. She is the quintessential workaholic who is always looking to help someone find their dream home. She's dressed to the nines and drives a Mercedes; everything about her screams' high class'. We glimpse into her personality and find she's quick to help a friend in need.
In "Sold on Love," we dive deeper and realize that Harper is just as insecure as the rest of us. While she portrays a particular image, in large part for her business, we get a peek behind the curtains at who she is when she can let her guard down. She reminds me of my best friend, and you know the type – you think they're out of your league, even as friends. Once you get to know them, you can't imagine life without their friendship.
Harper is faced with car issues which bring her to mechanic Rusty Jenkins. They develop an unlikely friendship, and sparks begin to fly. The two seem worlds apart. Rusty is a low-maintenance, no-nonsense type who believes he could never be more than 'just friends' with someone like Harper Wilson. When Rusty gets to see who Harper is, without the name-brand clothing and heels, make-up, he can't help but notice who she really is ... "Maybe their worlds aren't so separate after all. And maybe covering up who you really are keeps you from discovering what was always meant to be."
I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions in this review are entirely my own. I recommend this book – actually, I recommend the entire series. You can order the entire series on Kathleen Fuller's website.
Maple Falls Series
1. Hooked on You
2. Much Ado About a Latte
3. Sold on love – the release date of August 2, 2022
A fun romance read. 2 opposites who think they know what they want (but not really) start falling in love. Harper is a real estate state agent who dresses to the nines and drives a Mercedes. Rusty is a mechanic, who's rebuilding a car in his spare time. Both have parental issues and dating problems and are in denial about their feelings. Although it's book 3, it can be read independently.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Harper Wilson is a realtor in the small town of Maple Falls. She has been having great success but suddenly sales have dropped off. She is also helping with a town fundraiser -- the Bachelor auction.
Rusty Jenkins is Harper's mechanic. He owns the shop and has a pretty nice nest egg stashed away but he doesn't present as someone of means. He dresses casually and talks like a down home country boy. Harper on the other hand dresses to the nines. This story is how they help each other and find out who the other really is. Fun story!
I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my own honest opinion.
I would have to say that this book is not the best of the series by Kathleen Fuller, but it is still a good read. There are a couple of plots to the book that make it a bit more interesting. However, the overall pacing is just a bit slow.
Harper Wilson is a real estate agent who bakes when she is stressed and since she's had a downturn in business, she's been a bit more stressed. Rusty Jenkins is the mechanic who keeps her car running, even though he believes it is a lemon. She's high fashion, he's low maintenance. She's all about appearances, he's all about comfort.
Maple Falls, Arkansas, is a fictional town near Hot Springs (where I grew up). They are geographically close enough that many of the businesses in Maple Falls support charities in Hot Springs, specifically the ALS Gala and bachelor auction. Harper is involved with helping with the gala and convinces Rusty to be one of the bachelors for the auction. Rusty's grandfather, Senior, thinks the auction would be a lark and volunteers to be one of the bachelors.
Rusty knows that his house is in ill repair and wants to buy something a bit bigger. He's got his eye on a piece of property on the outskirts of town that would be a perfect place to build a house--it's got woods, a pond for fishing, and several sites suitable for building a house.
While Harper is struggling with her business, her ex-boyfriend shows up to tell her that her arch nemesis is out to destroy her business. Rusty and Harper had been growing closer until he sees Harper with her ex, then Harper's nemesis, Brielle, fills Rusty's mind with doubts about Harper.
This is a typical formulaic romance with a slight twist in that Girl meets Boy, instead of the other way around. Still a readable book. Four Stars
Thomas Nelson provided the copy I read for this review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
Overall a good book. The storyline was cute and a little cheesy sometimes, but flowed well throughout! Would definitely recommend!
This is a good book. The two main characters are Harper and Rusty. Harper is a real estate agent and Rusty is a is the owner of an auto repair shop. Their is a mutual attraction. Harper ask Rusty to be in a charity auction, he says ok. She offers to help him get ready for it. During the auction Harper gets ver jealous and buys a date with Rusty. They each have some issues but work together to solve the issues. They fall in love.
It was so good to be back in Maple Falls again! This is the 3rd book in the series and was great to find out more about Harper and her real estate business. Her sales are struggling and she doesn't know what to do. Her car is constantly on the fritz and mechanic, Rusty, is already up for the challenge of the car and Harper! I really enjoyed the characters of Rusty and Sr..
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This is the third book in the Maple Falls contemporary romance series. This is another delightful book by the author featuring conflicting main characters, Harper, an upscale fashion diva realtor, and Rusty, a down-to-earth auto mechanic who become friends when her fancy car breaks down.
This is a delightful book of how two worlds and friendship can collide in a way you would not expect. This is a fast read and I would recommend it to anyone that likes to read Christian romance books. You will not want to put it down until you see how all the twists and turns are resolved.
I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Thomas Nelson. The opinions expressed are my own.
I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
First off, this cover isn't great. The story was light and easy. I'm finding a lot of NA books lately are written im dual narrative from both sides of the love interests, which is fine but I wish it felt more unique. In addition, I get the whole girl boss thing but sometimes it's harder to sympathize with these types of characters. There is good romance, just be prepared for a predictable hallmarkesque plot.
My thoughts: this was a well written sweet romance. It was clean as in innocent, but there was no faith message at all. Warning for more conservative readers, there are is a lot of drinking and the hero gets a little tipsy in one of those scenes. It's an unlikely romance between a fashion diva and a greasy mechanic but it was nice to see their friendship develop. There's also a secondary romance in the story between a couple that was already married. I love Senior service. He made the book. If you like clean romances without a without a Faith message, you will love this book. Check out Kathy Fuller for contemporary romances. I was given a copy free and all opinions are my own.
I love this series! The town and characters are so much fun, it's like living there with them. Seeing how each couple works out their problems is interesting.
Maple Falls is a wonderful world I would love to visit and spend time in. This latest book follows Harper, who is a real estate agent, and Rusty, who is a mechanic, as they come from very different worlds. The friends we have met before are involved in their lives and it is the perfect set up for romance! All of the tropes were perfect for me and I loved how they played out together. The theme of family was well done. Harper’s family history impacts her life in a difficult way and Rusty is there to help. Senior (Rusty’s Grandpa) is hilarious on every page as he has a sarcastic comment or witty joke to say. All of the characters were perfection together and on their own. This series is worth the read and this most recent novel is especially so!
I received an arc via Netgalley in exchange for a honest review.
This was a cute small town romance. A fun, quirky cast of characters and a decent plot line. I also enjoyed the fact that the heroine and leading man were not really young, and had realistic concerns about having a relationship.
