These are all starting to feel exactly the same - the STEM plot was cute the first time but unfortunately it feels stale now...
Dislike Below Zero so much that I refused to subject myself to reading either Stuck on You or Under One Roof
Because it was a novella, I felt like some scenes were rushed and I wanted more “build up” especially in the scenes with a lot of tension. I really wanted this one to be longer! I also felt like Ali’s characters from her different books are quite similar with each other but I do love how she creates a different story for each one of them.
THIS BOOK MADE ME BLUSH SO MUCH 😳 I can’t put it down from the middle up to the end.
Let me also just say that every single time I finish a book written by Ali, I always feel like my ideal type changes according to the book’s main love interest. 😬
And yes, I agree… i want to be with someone who can watch “the bachelor” with me. 😭💗

Under One Roof was decent but nothing special in my opinion. It felt pretty predictable and not very exciting, though it was well written and a good standard rom com novella.

Review:
When Mara's supervisor passes away, she is left with half of a beautiful mansion.. the only caveat? Liam Harding owns the other half. This steamy enemies to lovers, forced proximity is perfect for a rainy day in to read in one sitting!
I've been craving some Ali Hazelwood romance ever since I read The Love Hypothesis and this novella did not disappoint. I finished this read in one sitting and I loved all the characters. Liam is swoon-worthy and has the bad-boy teddy bear vibe and Mara is definitely a bit grumpy. From the moment that they met, the writing built their chemistry so well. The plot was incredible as well, dealing with societal expectations and women in STEM - always a win in my books! I found that even in this short period of reading, I was attached to the characters and felt transported to their reality. While I'm not the biggest fan of the miscommunication trope, I found that in a short novella like this, it was very effective because it created so much tension between the characters that kept me flipping the pages.

I'm not usually a novella person, I find they usually bore me and just seem pointless, but Under One Roof has proven me wrong. It showed me that novellas can be so much fun.
This book is amazingly adorable and addictive! Our two main characters are very well developed for the short amount of time we get to know them, and the romance? Absolute perfection.
This book just has me even more excited for what Ali Hazelwood writes next, and the rest of her novellas!
Under One Roof releases on Kindle on May 3, 2022. It is currently already available on Amazon’s Audible Platform.
Mara receives news that she has inherited a house in Washington, D.C. which is perfect because she is about to start a new job at the EPA and needs a place to live. Unfortunately, there is a small problem. She has only inherited half of it. Liam also owns half of it which isn’t great news for Mara because they clash right away. He wants to buy her out. She isn’t letting go of the house that means so much to her as it came to her via one relative that actually meant the world to her. But Liam isn’t backing down either. Soon Mara is blasting Disney lyrics and Liam is making omelets at 1:00AM. Will they figure out what the real problem is before it’s too late?
Under One Roof is another compelling romance from Ali Hazelwood. I admit, I’m a bit of a fangirl for her books. She has a writing style that I find very appealing. Mara is a fun protagonist who suffers from the same short-sightedness when it comes to love as most of Ali Hazelwood’s protagonists. Clearly from their first meeting, Liam and Mara have the hots for each other. Their story starts from when Liam makes his move and then shows flashbacks from their first meeting to how they end up as friends. I liked how Mara and Liam supported each other in their jobs especially as neither is fully happy with what they are doing for their careers so far.
Under One Roof has some sexy bits too! It’s a fast-paced novella! I didn’t listen to it so I can’t talk about the quality of narration but from just a reading point of view, it’s a fun and sexy story.
THIS WAS SO CUTE!!!
They start off anti each other, but are forced to live in the same house because of a will. She's not willing to share her half of the house; he keeps trying to buy it off her, until they come to an understanding that she'll stay for a little bit.
They have a ton of sweet moments, but I do wish there was a little bit more to them. Each chapter starts off with time passing, and they grow closer in those moments, but I wish we got more of the in between.
It's a novella, so it's meant to be short, but I wouldn't object to a full novel for them!!
