What an interesting and unique way to explore the meet cute trope. The meet being the main thing. The characters pulled me into the story immediately and I just couldn’t put it down until I knew where this would end.
Millie and Joe meet cute (well, wetly) at Kings Cross Station but will they see each other again? Of course they will! Millie is a journalist and Joe is in IT and they alternately tell this tale. Millie, who has been spending time with her mother in Northumberland, is struggling in her job but the column she writes about meeting Joe is a hit. She's at a loss because she hasn't seen him again so she makes things up. Joe, meanwhile, has many of the same troubles with love and family. No spoilers from me but fans of the genre know these two will, well, you know. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good read.

This book is meant to be a fun, rom-com read so I know to throw the specific details of realistic life away but there were moments that had me questioning the believability. These two bump into each other and immediately Millie starts thinking of kissing this absolute stranger. I got the feeling that his “hot” appearance is the only reason she ended up being nice to him, otherwise her anger would have shown through much more. This kinda irked me a bit but not too much. And meeting more than once in the middle of rush hour at a busy train station… I voluntarily chose to ignore that impossible factor completely lol.
I almost feel like I was dragging myself through some of the chapters, especially with the long inner dialogues. It added onto why I found this book to be a bit too slow-paced for my liking. And since the two weren’t even together for a good chunk of the book, I had trouble connecting with the characters. Nonetheless, I continued rooting for the two and enjoyed how the book ended. “I can hardly breathe, But I’d give you the last breath in my body if it meant you were here for just another second with me.”A bit cliche but then again… I’m a sucker for a good rom-com cliche.
The concept of meeting someone at a train station and everything stemming off there is such an interesting idea, that was what initially drew me in. A bit disappointed because I didn’t feel that the plot reached the potential it could’ve but I wouldn’t necessarily say it was “bad” or that I regret reading it.
A nice and cute read! I really enjoyed this one! Thank you to the publishers and netgalley for a copy of this book.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
Millie, is a journalist, she writes a column about her life for a magazine.
But, what she writes is now losing interest. At the train station, she bumps into Joe, who is a IT tech/game developer, and feel some sort of connection.
The feature she writes for the magazine about her meeting is well received by the readers and her boss now wants her to continue with it, but for that she has to meet Joe. How will he feel about her writing?
The story was lovely to read and I wanted to continue reading to know what happens next.
I loved Joe’s sister and the supporting characters.
I recommend this book.
Meet Me on Platform 3 was a cute story with a good plot. However the writing style wasn’t for me. I had some issues with wanting the characters to get together. I couldn’t really see any palpable tension between the two. While it was a good plot I do believe the story could have been developed a bit more
Cute slow-burn rom com!
The idea of this novel: two strangers meeting by chance at the station, instant attraction and then the dilemma of the search for each other. That is where the development of this romance begins. In the middle of Millie’s weekly newspaper column.
However things are not going to plan in Millie’s job which she does ramble on quite a bit.
The only thing I really did not like which made this book a turn off at times was the amount of rambling. Yes I love her thoughts but I felt like this novel was on pause most of the time.
During the times it actually did progress it was good and funny and cute!
The characters all have their personalities which I really appreciate in a novel.
Especially with the whole encounter at the beginning with the initial awkwardness between the pair. The realistic-ness is something to be recommended for within a novel hence this novel’s rating.
4.25⭐️
Ooohhh loved this one!!!! Love the concept, execution, and the characters! It is such a fun and unique story of love and the obstacles that come with it. I mean, does anyone find a “perfect” someone????
This story for me is the quintessential love story! Meet cute (with its imperfections - rain water - as this isn’t a fairy tale), two wonderful characters who, for their own reasons, deserve to find someone really special, and a fun character in the form of a train! Intrigued yet? You should be!
I’m having a hard time not saying too much about this one , so I’m order not to spoil, I will just say - give it a try!!!!!

Such a sweet, fun romantic novel - I found myself cheering for Millie and Joe. It's a great book to add to your beach bag!
I didn’t love this. Not sure why, it just didn’t grab me - I’d still pick up another book by this author though.
I loved the idea of this book. The two strangers meeting by chance at the station, the instant attraction, the search for each other and the developing romance being shared with the world through Millie's weekly newspaper column. The reality was a little drawn out. Romantic fiction thrives on misunderstandings and bumps in the road, but at times I could have bashed these two's heads together and told them to get on with it! It's obvious this is love but we do have to wait a while for these two to figure out their silly differences and give us our happy ending. I did enjoy it though!
This is a really cute, easy read romance, of the “meet-cute” type. Likeable characters, gentle humour.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for my review.
Swoon. Swooning over the novel. Thank you for making my 3 days reading this feels like a novel and lving my main character moment.
I struggled to read this. Millie was rude, entitled, and annoying. Joe was a total doormat type. Great start to a relationship in lying. No real romance just a bunch of insufferable characters.
Oh I really wanted to like this, I like the author's previous books, but this was strangely written with wooden, unrealistic conversations, the first person dialogue was very repetitive and basic and the story lacking in sexiness or romance.
Such a fabulous story that really resonated with me and deals with a lot more than just a simple romance story. I felt it dealt with grief really well and mirrored some of my own feelings as of lately.
I live how Millie an Joe meet at kings cross and have an initial attraction to each other. I also love how it is written from both perspectives so we know what is going through both their heads.
Define story that will stay with me for a very long time

Two people. One Journey…
A super cute, slow burn, rom com! I really enjoyed this story, I felt as though the characters were very relatable. You really got to know each of the characters, but you did have to pay attention to whose chapter was whose. Millie had to deal with the loss of her dad recently and hence the train journey to the countryside to visit her mum. I loved the initial awkwardness between Joe and Millie that eventually turned to be natural and comfortable. That made it feel more realistic because most of the time you do not meet someone and it is not awkward, you know? It was a very light hearted, creative story with some life lessons learned along the way.

Absolutely loved this story and the will they won't they interaction in a fresh new way. So much fun!
This was a really sweet book and very PG. For me though, I just didn’t feel like the story went any where. The main characters were both nice people but not extremely interesting. After awhile it was sort of the same issue time and again. I’m also not sure how realistic Joe’s make perspective was in terms of how they think/act.
I wanted to like this novel more than I did. I usually enjoy dual-narrators so we can see what both the man and woman are thinking, but neither of these characters really appealed to me. The premise, a couple meeting and falling for each other after one brief encounter at the train station, was just too cutesy. Really? And then, when they meet again, neither thinks to ask for a phone number because they’re just too shy even though we know from their narrations that they’re attracted to each other. It seemed like that was just ignored so that the author could continue the gimmick.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.
