I enjoyed this warm, light read. I liked the development of their relationship and the characters back stories have this story something a bit different. Was it predictable? Maybe a little but there’s comfort in that I think this was a well written tale.

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

I requested this book because of the amount of great reviews it has and I'm so glad I did. This book completely surpassed my expectations in so many ways and I wish I already had the physical copy of it to put on my shelf!

4/5 ⭐️
1/5 🌶 (Mostly closed door/fade to black. A few steamy makeout scenes.)

I am on a London book kick lately, and this one checked all the boxes! Millie is a writer of a confessions column, and meets Joe while catching a train. Their relationship is a VERY slow burn, but it is so sweet and romantic. There isn’t any spice, just a few steamy make out sessions, so I would consider this a clean romance.

My only criticism of the book is it is just that, it is an excruciatingly slow burn. It’s not exactly a romcom - there is significantly more rom than com, but it gave me Sleepless in Seattle vibes which kept me engaged. It was a cozy read, with a HEA, so I would definitely recommend it for anyone who enjoys cleaner romance books. Millie and Joe have a love-at-first-sight romance, and I adored every minute of their love story!

You can preorder on Amazon right now (kindle and audible)! Be sure to grab yours so it downloads on your devices on launch day!

This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, from Harper Collins UK,One More Chapter and #NetGalley. Thank you for the opportunity to preview and review. Opinions expressed are completely my own.

Slow read, difficult to get into, quite predictable. The theme has a lot of potential, it didn't come to fruition for me personally.

I DNF this book at 40% in. As an American, it was fun to read a setting taking place in England, and I always love when books are dual POV. But the pacing was too slow for me. Millie has too much internal dialogue that is random and doesn't seem to contribute to the plot. I almost had trouble following along with verbal exchanges between her and another character because there would be paragraphs of internal dialogue with random tangents in between. Almost half way into the book, the main characters have only had two interactions together, and I wasn't feeling any chemistry between them, just awkwardness.

Many others seem to enjoy this book though, so it may just be me. I think you are more likely to enjoy this book if you like:
*the love at first sight trope
*England
*a good meet-cute
*dual POV

Thank you Netgalley and One More Chapter for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I enjoy this and could not put it down. I didn’t realize that this was book 9 in a series but I loved it and it was so cute. I am sure if I read the other book in the series I would have enjoyed it even more. I must admit I now want to visit the UK… As a traveler who rides trains I love the fact the train station is the main setting for this gem.

Like a lot of other reviewers say the premise meeting at a train station seemed to have so much potential and whilst the characters are likeable the whole story is just too slow and predictable

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for this ARC!

I was really excited about this story because I loved the description, and I think making the central setting a train station is super interesting. It certainly is a good place for a meet cute (wish it would happen to me). But after the 35% point, I just started skimming the chapters. I couldn't feel a palpable connection between the main characters that left me hooked and wanting more; the romance wasn't as strong as I had hoped, and both of the characters' chapters/points of view read too similarly for my taste. It was like they were the same person (perhaps why I didn't feel a connection). I think it would've been stronger had the scenes and chapters been more like what Millie is writing for her column––romantic and captivating––rather than bumping into train guy (Joe) a few times and not even asking for his number after the second time they met. The first thing I would do if I were in that situation would exchange numbers or something so we wouldn't have to fall back on chance, so their connection just didn't feel very real.

(As an aside: one of the side characters shares a name with someone I know from high school and I don't come across their name often because it's not super common so that was interesting!)

I think this story has the power to captivate a lot of readers, though. The writing was good and I think the author has a strong voice. I just wasn't as invested as I had hoped.

What a beautiful and amazing story. I loved it so much. Being from the North East and making a dash for the train meant I could picture every step of the station and every view on the journey.
I was so excited to read each version of events I didn’t want one chapter to end but couldn’t wait to start the next.

I requested this book as I’ve read others by this author and enjoyed them. After some of the heavier stuff I’ve read recently, I wanted something a bit lighter.
But I really struggled with this one, I’m sorry to say. It all just felt a bit vanilla. There wasn’t any depth to any of it, the plot, the scene setting, the characters. I just found that I wasn’t really bothered about what happened to any of them.
I’m really sorry but this one just wasn’t it for me.
Because I’ve read previous books from this author, I would try more from her in the future.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for my arc.

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the ARC to review.

I wanted to like this based on the summary. There was a huge potential for some great character development. However, by 13% in I was wondering if I would finish it. I found myself skimming just to get through some parts because it felt so slow and repetitive. The main characters’ voices felt too similar to distinguish between. I’m giving it 2 stars because I did manage to make it through and didn’t absolutely hate it, but I can’t even remember the character names 3 days after finishing the book.

Meet Me on Platform 3 is a fun, cute, heart warming romance that is a lovely read this summer and will leave you smiling and content.

I was hopeful, but this book just didn’t do it for me. The story of Millie and Joe starts with a chance meeting at the train station and develops into romance and a slew of life changes.

I liked the promise of a commuting love story, the exploration of grief and identity, and a sweet love story. Unfortunately, it was all just a bit too angsty but bland, too basic but redundant.

Thank you to Harper Collins UK One More Chapter and NetGalley for the advance reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

I like the idea of MEET ME ON PLATFORM 3.

It’s an adorable concept of a meet-cute at a train stop. Where the two main characters have instant chemistry in this somewhat awkward situation. And when they don’t exchange numbers you inwardly groan and wonder what are the odds these two will meet again?

Though the kernel of the story is what drew me in, the writing and the storytelling did not. There wasn’t the clever banter that makes you ache for more. Not much sexual tension where you’re literally screaming “Kiss already!” There’s no yearning readers feel when two people connect on the page. It felt like a process trying to make my way through the novel, rather than enjoying page after page of something that could be close to a cute romance.

Even though this book wasn’t for me, readers who enjoy romances about searching for that missed opportunity, and finding safe ground when your romance hits the internet, then make sure to grab a copy of MEET ME ON PLATFORM 3.

Happy Reading ~ Cece

I read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I think the best description I could give, would be pleasant? It was nice, but then also the characters were on their own for quite some time, thinking, for majority of the book, that I didn't feel super invested in their relationship.

Rapidly become one of my favourite authors. A chance meeting played out in a weekly column. Going home from London has never become so exciting. Living two very different lives in the city and urban areas. Relationship baggage, family grief and dynamics play a big part in how we react but can two people juggle everything and still make it work?
Enjoy the book, I did.

I enjoyed reading this one, for the most part. It kinda had its slow moments, but other than that it was a nice read.

I adored this story! It really gave me London vibes before jumping in. The cover made me excited to start. This was a light hearted rom com that brought me a lot of joy. It felt a bit short to me? Almost rushed, but I did really enjoy it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A fun, smart, and witty ROM-COM that will have you turning the pages to find out what happens next.

Millie lives in London and is on the verge of losing her job as a newspaper columnist. Her life is not going the way she envisioned, especially in the romance department. She decides it’s time to head home and spend some much needed time with her Mum, since it was the 2nd anniversary of her dad’s death and it wasn’t getting any easier. On the way, an unexpected event happens where Joe accidentally shakes his wet umbrella on her on the train platform. She is immediately attracted to him, but has to rush off to catch her train.

Each chapter alrernates between Joe and Millie on the woes of their lives. Both are single and want to find the “one.” After that unexpected meet up, they think about each other and hope they will see each other again. Will fate bring them back together again?

In order to impress her boss, Millie writes about this accident on the platform. Readers are excited about it and want part two and three to the story? Can she satisfy her boss and readers even through she hasn’t been able to run into him again? Will it save her job?

A fun light read that is perfect to add to your book club list! Perfect for those who love a good ROM-COM.

A really cute story. Characters were great and you wished the best for them, the storyline was fun a little slow at times. But over all enjoyable.
