The Proposal Playbook is the fourth book in the Meet Me At The Altar series by Samantha Chase but can also be read as a stand alone. This is the story of Daisy Sinclair and Xander Madden. It is an opposites attract sunshine/grump romance. These characters have so much chemistry with each other!

Daisy works at Meet Me At The Altar, a local wedding planning shop. When her brother mentions he is ready to propose to his girlfriend she offers to help him plan the perfect proposal. She doesn't expect for it to take up so much of her time. Or that there would be someone who enjoyed mocking all of her ideas. Enter Xander. He's a former Navy SEAL who believes love is a joke.

The beginning of Josie and Xander's dynamic is filled with banter and sparks. They have nothing in common but yet can't seem to leave each other alone. The more time Xander spends with Josie listening to her ideas about love, the more he finds himself always thinking about her. The more he starts wondering if he was wrong about love but, he still clings onto the fact that his mother abandoned his family so he will likely do the same thing.

The Proposal Playbook does feel a little formulaic but it is enjoyable. It's cute, funny, and so sweet. I loved seeing Josie and Xander come together. Like I said, they have chemistry! I also loved all the friendships that were spread throughout. They felt very real and I wanted to join them. This was the perfect addition to the series.

I love a good grumpy/sunshine trope. I really liked that Daisy was trying to help one of her brothers with the perfect proposal and enlisted help from her friends and their spouses for inspiration. It truly showed how different every couples story is.
As much as Xander and Daisy are opposites they are each others yin and Yang and it fits so well. Although it is a romcom I really appreciated it was not too steam heavy and had a solid story line. I’m definitely interested to read more by this author.

Absolutely adored this installment of the series. I am a sucker for grumpy sunshine/ grumpy for everyone but her sort of stories so I absolutely loved this. I think Samantha Chase does an amazing job of not only creating characters who are likable apart, but are even more so together. Overall I really enjoyed!

The Proposal Playbook (Meet Met at the Alter #4). By Samantha Chase, Narrator: Avery Reid. 2022. Dreamscape Media (ARC audiobook).

The Proposal Playbook is the first for me by the author. The writing seemed solid but the characters never won me over and I just didn’t feel the chemistry. The narration is good and she differentiates the male voices convincingly and well.

This is the second book, in a different series, that I’ve read by this author. There are a lot of similarities (he’s grumpy, she’s always cheery) but the story is different.
He’s a former Navy SEAL who doesn’t believe in love, he’s also a great big grump. She is an overly cheerful wedding planner who is working on writing a guide to happily ever afters.
Daisy Sinclair is in her element when she offers to help her brother plan the perfect proposal. She had absolutely no idea about how much time she would have to put into it. She also finds herself being mocked by Xander, Mr. Grumpy. He has her all figured out, or so he thinks. She is dead set on proving him wrong.
Xander’s mother walked out on her family many years ago and he has been disillusioned about love from the day she did. This makes Daisy and her ‘oh-so-happy’ mood and ramblings about true love even more irritating. However, there is something about her he finds himself drawn to. It doesn’t help that every time he opens his mouth he says the exact wrong thing.
Xander decides that he is going to avoid her and her glee and cheer; she somehow sneaks into his world and she is all he can think about. They have nothing in common unless you count the undeniable attraction they both feel for the other. Can the woman who wants marriage and children sooner rather than later and the man who can’t make a commitment come together for the long haul?
This was cute enough. I think that Daisy was a good character but she would fly off the handle rather quickly at very little, especially in the beginning. Xander doesn’t really come across as a huge jerk but he definitely has his flaws.
I mentioned before that this book had a lot of similarities to a previous book I read by the author but that’s not really a bad thing. If you are into the enemy to lovers trope you should not only like this book but also her other books.
I was lucky enough to get an audiobook copy of this book from Netgalley. The narrator is absolutely fantastic for this book so if you like this form of media then you should really like this one.

I LOVE this series! This couple was a little less of cuddly, lovey-dovey type but still great.

If you like grumpy military men that are won over by a sunshine personality this is for you.

This was as cute as I was expecting it to be. This is the fourth book in the series but only second i've read so far, i'll be going back to read the two I haven't yet for sure.

I adore the grumpy/sunshine trope and it was well done in The Proposal Playbook.

I recommend this series to any romance lover who wants something cute and fun.

As a former event professional, I love any books that involve a event planner MC. I'm also a sucker for the grumpy/sunshine trope. And I found both in this book. I haven't read the other books in the series, but I was able to pick up on all the characters fairly quickly. I really enjoyed the banter, but I felt the MCs lacked some chemistry.
I also like my romances more on the spicer side, and this one's more fade-to-black.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for my ALC copy

I'm usually a really big fan of this author's work but this one just was not the right fit for me. I think that it just was not the tropes I am usually a fan of but I am not saying that this piece was bad. Just not for me, personally.

"The Proposal Playbook" drew me in immediately. The narrator was easy to listen to and made the story enjoyable. This is the fourth book in a series around the same core of characters however it can be read/listened to as a standalone. You won’t be disappointed. I can't wait for the next book to come out.

This book wasn't for me. Daisy is extremely immature. The whole idea of her trying to find out ways for her brother to propose to his girlfriend felt cheesy to me. I never felt a connection between her and Xander. Everything felt forced.

"The Proposal Playbook" drew me in immediately. The narrator was easy to listen to and made the story enjoyable. Initially, I didn't realize that this was the fourth book in a series around the same core of characters. I hopped on to my audible account and library website to get the first three in the series and got through them in record time. I can't wait for the next book to come out.

a really sweet and funny story! I loved the ideas the characters threw out, and it was laugh out loud in some places. The narrator was ok and made listening enjoyable!

Daisy works for an events planning agency, specializing in wedding, engagement parties, baby showers. She is also trying to help one of her brothers with his proposal, and collects all the ideas she finds in a notebook. Xander is an ex-Navy SEAL who works for one of Daisy's co-worker's husbands in his security firm, and hasn't quite figured out what to do about his overwhelming need to protect Daisy, even when she doesn't want it. Where Daisy believes whole=heartedly in love and romance, Xander doesn't, just as whole-heartedly. It's fun watching the two work out their disagreement on the subject, and of course watching them admit their feelings.

I listened to this while out walking and found people looking at me when I'd laugh out loud at times! Enjoy!!

This was a cute and upbeat story of a mismatched pair finding love with each other. The banter between the characters was fun and funny. I wanted to love the book, but sometimes the cheesiness of the main storyline (helping her brother with a proposal idea) got a little old. I enjoyed the sweetness of the characters and I'm going to look at other books by Samantha Chase.

I had a hard time connecting to the story or perhaps the narration at first. Reading the book synopsis, it sounded like something I would love. In the end, I ultimately did enjoy it. The best part of the story was when it was almost exclusively focused on Daisy and Xander. The slow burn of their enemy to lover connection was satisfying. I enjoyed their evolution and could’ve read many more chapters about their adorable date nights. The side characters frustrated me a bit with their actions, but I get that there needed to be something external to challenge the main characters. I enjoyed the narrator for all characters with the exception of her portrayal of portrayal of Daisy.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for this copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Grumpy sunshine lovers will love this sweet story between cheery wedding event planner and grumpy ex navy seal! There’s a natural chemistry between the main leads and although this is apart of a series, you can still enjoy this book on its own. After reading this I’m interested in the other couples mentioned from the series.

A mostly adorable opposite attracts story. Daisy is a bit of a pushy hopeless romantic who cannot take no for an answer and always always always thinks she knows best for others without ever even bothering to listen to what they actually want. Well meaning, but a bit of an unrealistic battering ram. She has found the best career for herself and adores her coworkers. She is a wedding planner so of course always knows romance and what others want even when they don’t. She meets Xander, her coworkers husbands business partner and friend. He has zero interest in a relationship, doesn’t believe in love and happily ever after and really just wants to live his life, hang out with his friends and be. Then they meet and the sparks are everywhere. It’s a sweet silly romp to them finally getting out of their own way and letting love in. Truly a fun light listen.
