What more do you need than grumpy/sunshine, enemies-to-lovers, and all the laughs in a romance? Not much! I loved reading about Daisy and Xander soooooo much! They definitely don’t get off to a good start and it honestly gets worse from there. But we slowly see changes and I was so here for the journey they were on! Such a great, easy-to-read romance!

Just adorable is the simplest way to define the very fun sweet and super romantic The Proposal Playbook by reliable romance author Samantha Chase. I smiled, laughed and sighed the whole way through it.

Xander is a retired Navy Seal with a chip on his shoulder. He has no time or patience for romance and is a career one night stand kind of guy. His friends know his reputation and when he argues with sweet happy go lucky romance lover Daisy he is warned by everyone to just leave her alone.

Daisy is the newest employee at the event planning firm Meet Me At The Altar. She is cheerful, a hopeless romantic and the complete opposite of Xander. In fact every time he puts down love and romance he infuriates her so much that she has been known to throw food at him!

After a few run ins and a night installing a new security system for Daisy, Xander finds her proposal playbook listing dozens of ways to propose. It started out as a way to help her brother propose to his longtime girlfriend but has taken on a life of its own. How he uses this idea of a playbook at the end of the story pulled on all my heartstrings.

This opposites attract enemies to lover romantic comedy has some very tender moments that are respectfully portrayed by narrator Avery Reid; especially when Xander reveals his reasons for avoiding relationships. I really appreciated his opening up to his father. It took years to get there but what a pivotal moment in this character's arc.

This book is part of the Meet Me At The Altar romance series but each one is a stand alone story with cameos by previous protagonists. I can't wait to start the rest of this series. The Proposal Playbook has sweet romance, some hot chemistry, character growth and, finally is just plain adorable.

Daisy and Xander's story was another sweet love story in this series. Daisy is a romantic at heart and Xander doesn't believe in love. Watching Xander make his way through his fears to find love was endearing. This gruff man faces his fears head on and falls for Daisy. Daisy is feisty and used to stubborn men and is ready for the challenge with Xander.

I listened to this one and the narrator did a great job telling their story.

The Proposal Playbook (Meet Me At The Altar #4)
Samantha Chase
Daisy Sinclair is a romantic. When her brother, Dom, asks for her help in planning the most romantic proposal possible, she spends hours doing research and goes so far as to start a book of proposal ideas. She is a former teacher and currently is employed as a wedding planner at Meet Me at the Altar. Daisy turns to her bosses for ideas they suggest she query their significant other’s. She meets Xander Madden, a former Navy Seal at a party thrown by her bosses. He works with their husbands. When she asks the men their ideas for a proposal, she becomes the focus for the disdain of Xander. For some reason he finds himself irritated around her. She is always happy and that rubs him the wrong way. He wonders how a person can be happy all the time. The more Daisy searches for the perfect proposal and talks about love the more irritated he becomes. He realizes he was judging her, and he didn’t have the right to do that. There is something special about Daisy. He doesn’t want to be attracted to her, but he is. They have little in common: she loves children, he has no desire for children. She believes in love, and he doesn’t.
Knox warns Xander to stay away from Daisy not knowing the two have been secretly dating.
This is a sweet romance. I enjoyed watching Daisy and Xander fall in love. It was fun watching Xander come to the realization that he loved Daisy. The discussions he had with Knox were well done as was the discussion he had with his father. This is a delightful read. This is the first book I have read in this series; it stands well alone.

The Proposal Playbook AUDIO by Samantha Chase is a cute rom-com, second in the series, in which the girl who appears to be a total airhead, Daisy, and the man who appears to be a total jerk, Xander, find love with one another. Daisy works for Josie at a party planning company. Their work is most often wedding but they also do a variety of other parties. Josie is married to Xander's partner at the security business that they founded. Daisy is a nice girl and everyone warns him away from her because he is not a nice guy. He is a love'em and leave'em kind of guy. Maybe it's the negativity. Maybe it was just chemistry. But he didn't leave. Not after they made love-nope, he spent the night. Then he came back. Then he invited her to his place. Then he panicked.

Daisy is a total romantic. Right now she is trying to help her brother figure out how to propose. She has so many suggestions, she has put them in a binder: The Proposal Playbook. Xander's mother left when he was little. He grew up with everyone telling him he was just like his mother. He interpreted that to mean he would never commit. He would leave, too. Only after a long talk to his father did he discover that is not what they had meant. This was a touching story of a damaged man. It was funny and up beat. Even after they broke up.

The reader was Avery Reid and she kept it balanced. At first she played Daisy as they airhead she was presume to be, but she lightened up, almost imperceptibly, as the book wore on. She was terrific!

Fun, flirty romantic comedy. Daisy is an event planner. Xander is an ex-Navy Seal security specialist. Daisy And Xander can't avoid each other since their respective business partners are married to each other. Big, burly Xander feels protective of Daisy and sees her as a helpless girl he must protect. Daisy on the other hand has 3 older military brothers and a father who have made it their mission to teach her self-defense and make sure she can protect herself. Bottom line - Daisy doesn't want or need Xander's macho attitude. However, the more they are thrown together, the more their attraction grows. Can they keep this growing attraction and private rendezvous' a secret? Sure, why not. Just a short fling and move on. No one needs to know - unless they fall in love. Nah, THAT would never happen. Avery Reid does an excellent job as narrator.

The Proposal Playbook (Meet Me at the Altar #4) was a great read by Samantha Chase. Daisy Sinclair offers to help her brother come up with the perfect proposal to his girlfriend. But she never thought it would be so time consuming. Or that it would lead Xander to mock her. Xander's mother walked away from her family and he believes he is destined to do the same. But very quickly Daisy becomes all he can think about. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.

I couldn't do it. I couldn't finish.

Daisy was way too immature for me. I could not handle her throwing food at someone and expected them to apologize to her because she didn't agree with their beliefs on marriage. Nope.

The narrator did an amazing job, I enjoyed the side characters but Daisy just did me in.

Chase gives heartache a charming makeover. The Proposal Playbook is a heart pleaser that throws a heavy punch. Daisy and Xander are mismatch of heartache, humor and heat. Total opposites that make perfect sense even if they don't always agree. An emotionally stunning trip that will leave a smile on your face and hope in your heart.

When I saw the cover of this audiobook, I did not think it would be something I'd like. The summary sounded interesting, so I thought I'd give it a go. Never judge a book by its Cover! I enjoyed this audiobook. All the right ingredients.
A grumpy security agent meets a sweet romantic wedding planner. This is an enemies to lovers/forbidden love story. The supporting characters are hilarious. The voice of Daisy was a little off for me and I couldn't help but fixate on that. I think I would have enjoyed reading this book more than listening to it.

Thank you to NetGalley for the audiobook of this title, received in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed the close friendships in this book. The story is fun though very predictable. It seemed a bit rushed and left me surprised that I was already at the end.

Book 4 in the Meet Me at the Altar series. Not designed as a stand-alone, but could be read as one.

Meet Me at the Altar's new planner, Daisy, and Daniel's business partner, Xander, do NOT get along. They keep running into each other at social occasions, and there is a lot of friction. Until the friction starts making sparks....

I have read a few series by Samantha Chase and this has been my favorite, by far. However, this is my least favorite book of the series. The premise- Daisy wanting proposal advice for her brother- and decides to interview single friends for it- is a stretch and comes off super cheesy. Daisy is also kind of whiny and immature at times- especially in the beginning. Xander is great.

Avery Reid narrated this, as well as the other books in the series. It is a good narration- easy to listen to.

The Proposal Playbook is a sweet little enemies-to-lovers HEA romance about an idealistic woman, Daisy, who becomes entangled with a jaded former Navy Seal, Xander, who is convinced he is not relationship material nor interested in domestic bliss.

I like that this wasn't an instalove scenario, instead their relationship developed from a superficial attraction to a deeper appreciation.

I adore the continuing story of the Meet Me at the Alter ladies!

This story focuses on Daisy, but we get lots of updates on the other ladies and their relationships!

Daisy and Xander have a rough start. Xander is actually quite a grump. But some how Dailey sees right through his tough exterior and the two hit it off, with a few speed bumps along the way of course.

I loved how their relationship developed and also loved seeing the others and learning how their lives are going.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for a copy of this audiobook! This is my honest voluntary review.

Daisy is a wedding planner and is also helping her brother find the perfect way to propose. She started a book to give him ideas and has enlisted the gals she works with and their significant others to help her. Xander is not happy about being a part of this with his former Navy Seal buddies. Xander is only familiar with one-night stands and has no intention of needing a proposal. His mother left his family when he was young, and his dad has always told him he was just like his mother. He never wants to leave someone like she did. Cheerful Daisy meets grumpy Zander, and the book launches into fun and romance. I love that Daisy stays true to herself and is determined to get to know Zander once the sparks fly. Zander does not know how to have a relationship and is always saying the wrong things. I really liked how Daisy and Zander’s relationship blossomed. Sexy and fun with lots of hidden truths. I love this book and appreciate the opportunity to read it through NetGalley for an honest opinion.

I always enjoy a Samantha Chase book and this one was another pleasant story. This is the fourth book in this series and I had only read one book previously, but that didn’t take away from this book at all. It can be enjoyed as a standalone book even though characters from the other books are mentioned.

This is the story of Xander and Daisy. Xander is a former navy seal who believes he will never be lucky in the relationship department so he doesn’t even try - he just has one night stands after another and never a second date with the same girl. Daisy just started working as a wedding planner and is currently helping one of her brothers decide how to make the perfect proposal to his girlfriend. Daisy’s co-worker is married to Xander’s best friend so they are always thrown into the same events and to say they get on each other’s nerves is putting it mildly. But one day it all seems to click for both of them - do they dare try to have a relationship? Do they keep it a secret because they both know their friend group will think Daisy is too good for Xander and his playboy ways?

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.

The Proposal Playbook by Samantha Chase is a good read of the grumpy/sunshine trope. Xander an ex-Seal believes that he isn’t made for a committed relationship. He’s happy with his playboy life style until fun-loving romantic Daisy gets under his skin. She’s a wedding planner who’s big on romance. While they don’t have much in common, the one thing they do have is their chemistry.

The narrator for the audiobook was good. She read at a good steady pace and used accents and octave to differentiate the characters. The story was a fun contemporary love story which I enjoyed. I loved the relationship between the main characters as well as that with their friends. The author created characters who developed through the course of the book to become stronger by the end. Xander is a wounded hero who finds the path to healing because he found love. He was very relatable and had me rooting for him from the start.

Another delightful addition to the series!

Highly entertaining story with two main characters that are always at each others throats. Grumpy/Sunshine trope at it's best, when a wedding planner and security trainer can't agree, but are constantly in each others paths.

This is the fourth book in the Meet Me At the Altar series, and while it could be read on it's own, I recommend reading the first three so you can enjoy it to the fullest.

This romance will give you a sweet tooth and a whole new outlook on frosting, lol!
