This grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract romantic comedy is so sweet. Daisy and Xander were both relatable and I really rooted for both of them to find happiness both with each other and on their own. Their group of friends are very fun even when they were interfering and throwing up roadblocks (albeit unintentionally) for Daisy and Xander. I loved seeing Xander's growth and self-awareness of his problems, and the adorable bonding moments and banter. Daisy was very patient with him and stood up for herself when he hurt her, which I liked a lot.

I read this as a standalone and didn't read any of the other books but still enjoyed it.

This was the perfect book to read (listen to) for Valentines Day! This is one of my go-to authors and again she didn’t disappoint.

After months of antagonizing each other, Daisy and Zander finally figured out how to make things work once Zander figured out that he isn’t just like his mom in all ways. Daisy has gathered ideas to help her brother propose to his girlfriend but Zander can’t help but take notes for their big day.

I sense there’s at least one more book waiting to come out of the girls at Meet Me at the Alter and the boys at Seal Security.

Light, sweet, funny, opposites-attract romance!

This is Book 4 in Samantha Chase’s well-written, enjoyable Meet Me at the Altar series. While it can be read as a stand-alone, it’s better to have read the other 3 books first, so you know who the secondary characters are.

This book focuses on Daisy, a former nursery school teacher now working as a wedding planner. She’s a true romantic with a heart of gold. Having grown up in a military family, she’s got a bit more sass than the typical girl-next-door.

At age 28, Daisy thinks it’s time for her to have her own HEA. In the meanwhile, she’s happy to help her brother come up with ideas for the perfect romantic proposal. Daisy comes up with so many great ideas for romantic proposals, she decides to combine them in what she calls the Proposal Playbook, which is discovered and mocked by Xander, a former Navy Seal who’s currently part owner of a security firm.

Uber-attractive Xander goals are the opposite of Daisy’s. The last thing he wants is marriage and a family. All his life, Xander’s been told he was just like his mother, who up and left the family when Xander was a small boy. So Xander doesn’t think he’s capable of a committed relationship.

Xander and Daisy are well-rounded, likable, people who have great chemisry. When they finally get together, sparks fly. Then meddlesome friends get in the way of Daisy and Xander’s budding relationship. The characters grow and develop in a very real way before getting back together. The ending was great.

I listened to the audiobook. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters to life.

I give the book 4.5 stars, which I’m rounding up to 5. I look forward to the next book in the series.

This was exactly what its sweet rom-com cover promised it would be, and after a very not as great audiobooks in a row, it was particularly satisfying. Was it game-changing or particularly memorable? No, but it is a comforting escapist read, and I have a weakness for good-girl meets playboy who is secretly a softie. I am adding the rest in the series to my TBR as bubblegumy palate cleansers (and I mean that in the nicest way possible) 3.5⭐ 1.5🌶

This is the perfect book to listen to while working. It's light, funny, & romantic. It's super cute and I really enjoyed it. I did wonder if maybe this was a series while reading it and I definitely want Knox's story now. Thankfully, there is. This is book #4 which can be read as a standalone, but I'm going back to start at the beginning and hoping there's a book 5 in the future!

Publication Date: 3/3/22

I've read books by this author before, and while I'm not in love with her writing style, her characters or plots usually draw me in. This book however didn't have any characteristics that hooked me. The style and tone fell flat for me, and the characters felt very cliche. The main character felt like a manic pixie dream girl (from her aggressive happiness, to the reminders of her being short, to her "sass") and the love interest was unnecessarily rude to her at the start and I didn't care to read about his fear of commitment. I'm sure there are readers who will enjoy this, but to me it felt fairly unoriginal and slow.
