I am a huge fan of Dani Atkin's books and really enjoyed reading Six Days. I felt Gemma's pain yet I didn't feel the raw emotion that normally comes through in Dani's books that normally have me in tears.
More of a mystery than a tear-jerker but still a good read!

Thankyou for the ARC! I really liked this one! definitely a tear jerker though and it kept me guessing the whole way. I just loved the relationships and the main characters- especially Hannah. And not the ending I thought! Recommend!

You really can’t go wrong with Dani Atkins she always provides a fresh modern heart wrenching romance with plenty of twists and turns and six days continues to provide that essential “can’t put this down” story. A must read holiday and beach essential.

I would like to thank the author, the publisher and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC of this book. I read this book in one day, it was hard to put down and the story gripped me from the first page, I needed to find out what had happened. I would definitely recommend this book.

I’d like to thank NetGalley and Head of Zeus for approving me for an ARC of this book.

We are thrown straight into the action with Gemma being jilted on her wedding day. I can’t begin to imagine how she must of felt when Finn didn’t turn up and it is safe to say that she went through every emotion.

What I had to admire was Gemma’s strong will and insistence that Finn had not jilted her, that something must of happened to him. Unwilling to accept that he had left Gemma sets off on her own investigation to try and find out why Finn didn’t show up to their wedding. During the course of this investigation we get flashbacks to how Finn and Gemma met. To say it was a bumpy ride would be an understatement. There were many times that their dedication to each other was tested and quite often it was Finn who bolted.

Throughout the story Gemma is well supported by her dad and her best friend Hannah. The two supporting characters offered everything that Gemma could need and more! I even loved the links back to Gemma’s mum and the touching ways they brought her into the story.

Given Gemma and Finn’s history it was unsurprising when Gemma’s discoveries all seemed to point to Finn leaving her but there was something nagging at me. Surely after everything they had been through Finn wouldn’t just walk away? As we near the end it becomes clear what has happened and it is so beautifully written that I challenge anyone not to shed a tear or two over this book. Yes you are definitely going to need tissues for this one!

Gemma knows Finn is her soulmate, even when he never arrives at the church on their wedding day. She's convinced something serious has happened to him and that he wouldn't abandon her like this, although most people, including the police, don't seem concerned. So for six days, Gemma searches for Finn, even when she gets news that makes her second guess their relationship.

Dani Atkins certainly knows how to write a heartfelt and moving story and Six Days is no exception. The slow reveal of Finn's backstory through dual timelines added a touch of mystery, making this unputdownable. I found myself empathising with both Gemma and Finn on occasion as their relationship was so complex. I also felt Atkins expertly balanced emotional moments with humour and in particular, Hannah added some lighthearted relief.

Overall, if you've enjoyed Dani Atkins before I just know you'll love Six Days!

Six Days pulls all the emotional heartstrings! The devastation felt by Gemma when Finn fails to turn up at the altar is just so palpable. She is understandably crushed, but resolved to find out what has happened to him. Through all the doubts of family and friends, Gemma refuses to believe she has been jilted and holds fast to the fact that something must be wrong. Yet, this isn't the first time Finn has disappeared. We are taken back to the early years of their relationship, but Gemma feels that is all past. With each revelation, we begin to doubt, however, Gemma heartbreakingly holds fast to her belief in Finn and remains steadfast over the course of six gruelling days of searching. Despite being despicable ghosted by Finn, things are not so simple. There are deep seated issues to resolve. A lack of communication is at the root, but truths come rushing to the surface by the finale. This book will wring you out, but is full of such love and hope. Special mention must go to Gemma's best friend Hannah, who is an amazing support and adds such light relief and holds her friend together. Things are rarely as simple as we assume and this book takes us into the difficulties beneath the surface of our lives, into those shady areas of grey between the black and white. I didn't want to out this book down as I frantically held on to discover the mystery of Finn. Six Days will hook you and reel you straight in. #sixdays #daniatkins #netgalley

Sadly not for me. Start of book included things I found personally upsetting so I could not continue with it.

The book and characters have potential, but, sadly, there is an immense amount of unlikelihood attached to the entire story. It does teach a few lovely lessons on love, faith, intimacy, and friendship.

I did enjoy the light, accessible writing style, which is why I am copying below a couple of excerpts that held my attention for more than the seconds required for their reading:

Something very cold and ugly crawled into my soul and curled up several times, like a cat getting comfortable.

The books and internet pages Dad had studied on being father of the bride hadn't prepared him for this one.

If someone has looked out for you all your life, it makes sense they'd want to carry on doing that - wherever they are now.

I received an ARC for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Thank you, #NetGalley.

This was a rollercoaster of a read, wrenching at the heart strings. It details Gemma and Finn's relationship from rocky beginnings to the kind of love dreams of made of. So why does Finn not appear at the church on the day of their wedding? Gemma won't leave any stone unturned in her quest to find out what happened despite others believing it to be a classic case if the jilted bride.
Heartwarming yet harrowing, a book to read with tissues to hand, for both the happy and the sad tears.

Really enjoyed this comfortable mix of romance/mystery combined! Gemma and Finn meet when he steals her parking and it takes them a while to get together but when they do it feels like a forever. So its unexpected when Finn abandons Gemma at the alter. Gemma is the only one convinced that something is seriously wrong and the police should be searching for Finn. She has to user her journalistic investigative skills to unpick what happened to Finn between his stag night and her wedding the next day.

Great pace and easy to read. I gobbled this up in 24 hours, as each chapter left me wanting more. Loved the balance between romance and mystery, as the story flips between past (the romance) and present (the mystery). The romance was beautifully written and felt quite real. Both key characters were relatable and believable and the love story is quite delicious. This contrasted really well with the fast paced present day mystery full of red herrings and unpredictable turns. I was totally caught up in this story. Worth a read!

Dani and Finn - a strange relationship, unusual and not straightforward. As with all of Dani's book she entices you into the story and makes you want to keep on turning the page.. I actually did not like the character Finn and thought she was better off without him, but I did feel sorry for her.
Even so, the book is worth reading and the hope between the past and present is well written

When Gemma gets stood up at the aisle it's seems like her Fiancé Finn has done a runner. Gemma doesn't believe it and the story of this belief is just lovely. She truly believe that live can conquer all. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed this book. It was warm, yet gripping, an original take on being stood up at the altar. I liked the characters and read it right through from start to end. My first book that I had read by Dani Atkins, but I will read her books again.

I really enjoyed this. Gemma's belief in Finn was so lovely to read and the way she never gave up on him was really moving. Great characters and a brilliant storyline. Highly recommended.

Thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book for an honest review.

Tears!!!! What a beautiful story. Gemma and Finn are delightful and their missed timing is heartbreaking. I loved the mix of present day and seeing where their relationship started. Highly, highly recommend!!

You really do feel for the main character of this book, left on your wedding day?? Gemma and Finn make amazing leading characters and I didn't want to put the book down, I needed to know what was going to happen next. This book was very emotional and beautifully written

It’s hard to not go along with the obvious when someone doesn’t turn up at their own wedding. You assume they’ve done a runner. I was stunned that Gemma couldn’t accept what had happened when Finn seemingly jilted her but then the book explores their relationship and you end up thinking maybe she has a point. Brilliant and yes, a definite page-turner. I really didn’t want it to end.
