I took this book with me and sat in the garden and finished it in one sitting. The writing was incredibly digestible and I lapped this book up and before I knew it it was over.
We follow Gemma and Finn’s love story, starting off in the present day with reflections on how they met and their relationship dynamic. It’s the morning of their wedding and Finn doesn’t show up, which Gemma knows means there has been trouble and that she isn’t jilted. After 6 days of Finn’s disappearing act. Gemma starts to question herself and believe her family and friends that he really did just leave her like that at the alter. A small part of her still doesn’t believe this however, and she doesn’t give up trying to find him.
This book kept me on my toes throughout, I was constantly wondering what was going to happen next, and I even questioned myself. At some points I was on the side that Finn had jilted her and the next I was echoing Gemma that it just couldn’t be. For me, this aspect that kept me reading. I really do look for some meaty romances that study relationship dynamics and that have a complexity. I like a love story that isn't easy, and this one hit the nail on the head for me in that regard because throughout the whole book you feel like it just isn’t going to end up in happiness… and then the whole thing flips again. It had a wonderful pay off in the end, and I was so happy and relieved that it finished the way that it did.
Overall this was a pleasure to read and it was exactly the kind of read I hoped it would be when I picked it up.
Another great book from Dani Atkins. I really enjoyed this particularly the ending. The story follows Gemma being jilted at the altar and trying to find out what has happened to her fiancé as he has disappeared. Whilst her fiancé seemed the most irritating man, this book took twists that I didn’t expect! Highly recommend
This was a beautiful book that I managed to read in a few sittings. Such a great tale and it stuck with me for a while afterwards.
The flashbacks of this didn’t work for me it really made the pacing off unfortunately. And the ending felt rushed but now I’ve got that out of the way. I can tell you how I loved about 75% of this. It was gripping and real and romantic.
Just the perfect palette cleanser after reading so many high fantasy books
I always enjoy Dani Atkins’ books so was excited to get a copy of her new one. This book follows Gemma who is in love with her fiance but he seemingly jilts her on their wedding day. Gemma simply cannot believe that Finn would do this to her and is convinced that something has happened to him but there is no evidence. He appears to have disappeared. The novel goes back and forth in time as we learn how they met and we find out more about Finn and his life. I have to say that I didn’t particularly like Finn or how he behaved at times and that made it a bit difficult to care what happened. Having said that I did like Gemma and was really hoping that things would work out for her. I enjoyed this book, not quite as much as the author’s previous novels, but it was still a good read.
Dani Atkins is a new author for me, I like her writing style and will definitely be seeking out other books by her after enjoying this book.
Written in dual timelines, before and after, this is the story of Gemma and Finn and covers the six days after Gemma is jilted at the alter.
It is a nice, easy read book with a lovely cast of characters, a bit predictable, but who cares? It's the perfect escape. I only wish it had an epilogue.
An emotional read.
It starts on Gemma and Finn's wedding day. He doesn't turn up at the church but where is he? He doesn't count as a missing person until he has been gone for 6 days - will Gemma find out what happened before then? The story is told between now and when they met.
I just could not get into this book at all.
I tried a few times but I just found it irritating.
I shall try it again at some point and if I change my mind I shall give it an update review. I am giving it 3 stars as it does seem to be written well
Beautiful, interesting and another great story from this author, totally unique but totally believable too.
Oh wow what a book! I had no idea where it always going and I had to find out what happens. I couldn't put it down!
This is the first book I've read by this author and it certainly won't be my last.
Thank you netgalley for my ARC

This is the first book I have read by this author and it won't be the last!
The book starts on Gemma and Finn's wedding day and proceeds to jump to different times in their relationship, always clearly marked at the start of a chapter so the reader knows exactly where we are. Gemma's love for Finn is evident but we are shown that it might not have been so overwhelmingly clear for Finn. The journey through the 6 days following the wedding day is fraught with suspense, and I couldn't put the book down til I discovered the outcome. Descriptions of emotions are detailed and realistic, they are so beautifully done that the reader feels as though they are there with the characters, I had many moments of goosebumps in the final quarter of the book.
Reading this book has made me sign up to follow this author, I look forward to reading more of her amazing work.
Six Days tells the love story of Finn and Gemma. It begins with Gemma making her way to the church on their wedding day, only for Finn not to be there!
Over the next six days, she wonders where Finn could be. We are then taken back through their romance via flashbacks to the past.
With a climatic ending that kept me hooked, this is another great read by Dani Atkins.
Thanks for NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book, in exchange for an honest review.
It’s been a while since I’ve read a book and just couldn’t wait to see how it all turned out and couldn’t put it down - this absolutely broke that curse! From the first page I knew it would be good, but it was so much more. It’s not as predictable as other books are and that characters are all fab! Can’t wait to read more by this author
I really enjoyed this, a different concept and one which kept me guessing throughout as to what Finn could have done. I was rooting for him and Gemma throughout. Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Dani is becoming one of my favourite authors
Another brilliantly written story
It will have you hooked and you won’t want to put it down till you’ve finished it
Can’t wait for her next book
Thanks NetGalley
I hadn't read a book by Dani Atkins previously, but this one has ensured I will seek out other titles. This was an absorbing book that I found hard to put down - I read it in two sittings. Gemma refuses to accept she has been jilted by Finn, and believes he would never have abandoned her in this way. She is convinced something has happened to him, and despite increasing evidence otherwise, she does not give up in her search for the truth. Told over six days backward and forward, her perseverance is quite astonishing and the eventual truth is quite a surprise. I really enjoyed it from start to finish.
An intense & riveting love story , just when you think you may have figured out what's happened between Gemma & Finn another puzzle unwinds everything you thought you were beginning to understand . But Gemma never gives up which for Finn in the end is the best thing of all! #NetGalley, #Goodreads, #FB, #Instagram, #Amazon.co.uk, # <img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/358a5cecda71b11036ec19d9f7bf5c96d13e2c55" width="80" height="80" alt="100 Book Reviews" title="100 Book Reviews"/>, #<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/ef856e6ce35e6d2d729539aa1808a5fb4326a415" width="80" height="80" alt="Reviews Published" title="Reviews Published"/>, #<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/aa60c7e77cc330186f26ea1f647542df8af8326a" width="80" height="80" alt="Professional Reader" title="Professional Reader"/>. So I highly recommend this Book .
Another completely fabulous book from one of my favourite authors, Dani Atkins. This was much anticipated and was just as enthralling and captivating a read as I imagined and hoped it would be.
Using her genius for characterisation, Dani introduces the reader to Gemma and Finn. A story of true love and finding the one, told over different timelines. We meet at the start of their relationship, when neither seems to particularly like the other, move to an intense friendship and love, then to a sudden break up and finally an intended wedding.
Six days tells the story of this love and how loved ones lost can help bring people hope and togetherness. I was rooting for Gemma and Finn and found the story and the ending really poignant and needing tissues for laughter and tears.
Highly recommended and up there with the previous fabulous books previously read by this talented author.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
Dani Atkins books are the best. This had Gemma trying to find Finn when he went missing on their Wedding day. She had to find him before she could file a missing report with the cops. The story went back in time, unfurling all the ups and downs of the relationship. A great page turner, the writing kept me hooked as they dealt with the dynamics of a relationship, evoking all my emotions. A great read.
Review of Six Days by Dani Atkins
This is another brillant read by Dani Atkins, as always the characters and story line are so very well though out and written. And as to be expected with any Dani Atkins book a total emotional rollarcoaster of a story. Recommened.
