Have read all Dani Atkins previous books, so looked forward to escaping into this one. What a fabulous tale, how do you deal with being jilted on your wedding day? Lots of twists and turns, as Gemma decides what to do
I read a little slow and hard and I broke 1 point from here, although this is a problem caused by me, because the book is very gripping and intriguing.
Gemma was finally going to marry the love of her life, Finn, and her wedding day was going just as it should. Except for one tiny detail; No one has seen the groom for 24 hours and knows where he is! While the guests and their close circle feel sorry for Gemma, who was abandoned by the groom on the wedding day, Gemma insists that Finn did not leave her and is determined to find Finn on her own, despite the police's lack of help. Even if some coincidences make her doubt their relationship.
In the book, we both deal with this unfortunate event that happened to Gemma today and solve this mystery, as well as go back in time and read about Finn and Gemma's relationship. So if you are a romantic comedy fan like me but want to change the genre of the book without going too far, this book is for you!
While reading the past scenes, I couldn't help but fall for Finn along with Gemma, but I always wondered what happened to this man that he left the woman he loved so much on their wedding day? When I learned what had happened, my mouth was wide open, and I started to sob for real!.
Be prepared for mixed emotions as you read the book, Dani Atkins will definitely catch you off guard!

I liked the premise of this book but somehow the story telling wasn’t compelling. The love-hate storyline was obvious from the first meeting of Finn and Gemma and not particularly new. As the story of the wedding and the aftermath unfolded the outcome wasn’t hard to predict.
I think I am the wrong audience for this book.
A feel good romantic novel with an added mystery. Finn doesn't turn up to the church to marry Gemma and everyone thinks she's been jilted. The story jumps between when they first met and present day and had just enough suspense to keep me reading to find out the truth. If a good romance is your thing you'll love this novel.
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a chance to read 'Six Days'.
It's difficult to review this page turner without any spoilers! The story of a bride jilted who refuses to believe that her groom would have left her deliberately. Told between two timelines, the story weaves together to an unforgettable conclusion about the path of true love.
Well I absolutely raced through this book over the weekend! What a beautiful read about love, commitment, trust and belief in your partner. I love Dani Atkins' writing style and find it so easy to get hooked in to her books; Six Days was no exception. I found the characters of Gemma and Finn very believable and found Gemma particularly likeable. Her relationships with her best friend and her father were so genuine and honest. I am so thrilled to have been invited on the blog tour for this book and will be sharing my review on Instagram and Twitter on the appropriate date, but couldn't wait to give it a rating on here so that other readers can know how lovely this book is. I will definitely be recommending Six Days; such a gorgeous book.
I love, love, loved this book!
It had the mystery and intrigue that I love from a book, as well as a love (he-loves-me-he-loves-me-not) aspect.
It kept me guessing the whole time and I loved all the twists and turns.
A beautiful story full of heartbreak and emotion. Conviction is shown by the jilted bride but is she right in her thoughts...
Wow, what have I just read? I didn't expect anything like this, it's so original and well thought and clever!
I was hooked right from the start and literally couldn't put it down, because I absolutely needed to know what was going to happen. Loved it so much I went to buy two other books by the same author (Fractured and A sky Full Of Stars) and can't wait to dig into them as well.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Love Dani Atkins books and this is no exception. Gemma and Finn collide when going for an interview for the same job. It doesn't go well but they keep bumping into each other. On the day of their wedding Finn disappears but Gemma doesn't believe what everyone's saying that he's left her at the altar. Gemma is determined to prove them wrong.
I have read and adored each of Dani Atkins’ books and always eagerly await her new one coming out. Six Days is absolutely incredible and I think I have felt every emotion possible whilst reading!
This story is told from the perspective of Gemma who we meet as she is getting ready on the morning of her wedding. She cannot wait to marry her soulmate Finn but when she gets to the church it is clear from the behaviour of Finn’s best man that something isn’t quite right. Even after the Bentley has driven around the block, nothing has changed. Finn hasn’t arrived at the church! But Gemma knows Finn and is convinced he would never abandon her. She feels sure that something terrible must have happened but even the police aren’t concerned, telling Gemma that most people who want to be found will usually turn up in a week. The story then spans the next six days as Gemma is determined to find Finn and trust in their love, even though everyone around her believes she needs to let him go...
I always feel such a deep connection to Dani Atkins’ characters and right from the outset cared so much about Gemma. My heart truly went out to her and in the days following Finn’s absence at the wedding, each new discovery tested Gemma’s resolve to not give up on him even more! I really enjoyed the way that Gemma’s memories were interspersed throughout the present day narrative, as these chapters/flashbacks gave such a powerful insight into the way in which Gemma and Finn’s paths first crossed and all of the moments they shared thereafter. I felt so angry on Gemma’s behalf reading some of these scenes as it felt like the red flags were frantically waving themselves off the page! But it’s sometimes only with the benefit of hindsight that these signs become so important!
I will never forget either how chapter 25 completely floored me! I just did not see it coming at all and Dani Atkins’ writing was so incredibly clever in this regard. I definitely felt like I needed to apologise for some of the thoughts I had whilst reading this book before this chapter! I always found myself racing through the pages, eager to see what would happen next. Even more so when I got to this chapter, as I was desperate to see what would happen in the final quarter of the book.
Six Days is such an incredible and beautiful story and I honestly cannot recommend it highly enough. I know that I will be thinking about it for a long time to come!
When you've been in a bit of a reading slump, and just haven't connected emotionally to anything for a long time, it takes something pretty special to pull you out of your funk. And boy, did Six Days do this for me.
It is Gemma and Finn's wedding day. But, only one of them turns up.
Heartbroken, Gemma just knows with every atom of her being, that Finn would not have jilted her. But with no evidence of suspicious circumstances, the police can do nothing to help find him.
As Gemma reflects, we get to see how they met, how they worked their way through some trials and tribulations and just how deeply they love one another.
As the days pass, Gemma's resolve never wavers, and I just fell in love more and more with their story.
I won't spoil anything by revealing what happens to Finn, but for anyone who loves a good cry, Six Days is one for you.
Uplifting, powerful and beautiful, Gemma and Finn's story captivated me and made me remember why I love reading all over again.
Gemma and Finn loves each other fiercely. Or that what's Gemma believes until Finn stands her up on their wedding day.
Gemma is torn between thinking something bad must have happened to him and thinking he has just changed his mind and left her.
Honestly, it's been a while since I have been surprised by a book. Maybe it's because I read a lot and my imagination is wild, I don't know. But it's just easy to see what's gonna happen.
But then I got this book. And I didn't see it coming. It is beautifully written. Gemma is just the perfect heroine. She is a fighter who will conquer your reader heart.
I loved this story. I was hooked from the very beginning, trying to guess what was happening. Because Dani Atkins plays with us, readers, making us believe different theories. One chapter you believe you know what is happening only to find out you were wrong on the next one.
It's one of the best books I've ever read. I liked it that much, yep.
3.5 STARS

‘Six Days’ is told in alternate timelines - the six days following Finn leaving Gemma at the alter and disappearing altogether, and flashbacks from various points throughout their relationship.
It was just a bit all over the place really. I think it was far too past/flashback-heavy, at the end of the day we already know the climax to this story so it’s just not what I want to be focused on - the interesting part is why Finn has disappeared.
Some flashbacks began at the start of a chapter and some were given within a present day chapter and given context - these were my favourites as they seemed more relevant to the disappearance. But even during flashbacks it seemed time was jumping all over the place, for instance, there was a flashback of them out for dinner on a date, followed by a scene break and we were back to Gemma inviting him on that date.
There were certain flashbacks that just felt unnecessarily long - their first ever date for example I felt really dragged. At around 50% of the way through we were in more flashbacks than in the present and I really felt like I was just plodding through it, I think I would have DNFed if I didn’t NEED to know what happened with Finn.
With that being said, I have very mixed feelings. Because at around 70% through/the beginning of day 5 I LOVED it - this was exactly the book I wanted to be reading. I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. I got really very emotional. It’s just a shame the whole book wasn’t like this.
I feel like the end was maybe slightly rushed and I would have liked an epilogue, so rating-wise I’ve gone straight done the middle with an extra half star because that last 30% was very very good.
Another brilliant book from this author, I feel as though I have been in a spin dryer following this story, just couldn't put it down. The characters were brilliant I felt as though I knew them personally, such a great story to tell.
I especially liked the different time lines in this book, it was so easy to follow and got me involved from the beginning until the end. I can thoroughly recommend this book, well done Dani and I look forward to your next one.
Thank you to Netgalley and Head of Zeus (Aria) Publishers for this great ARC.
Gemma is devastated when Finn fails to turn up for their wedding. She can’t understand why he would do this to her and she believes that something bad has happened to him.
The storyline has a duel timeline which I don’t normally enjoy.
Thank you to NetGalley and Head Of Zeus for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this book, just as I have loved others by Dani Atkins. At first I did sigh, expecting it to be yet another untrustworthy male abandons bride to be at the altar. I was wrong and this was so much more. A real page turner and a feel good novel. Just what I needed to cheer me up in difficult times.
The love between two people radiates from the pages of this book. Dani Atkins has captured how two people know & trust each other so much that they know when something is wrong, they will do everything to find the truth.
Finn & Gemma are getting married. Their journey to the altar was not straight forward, but their love for each other held no bonds. When Finn doesn't turn up for their wedding, Gemma knew something was very wrong with Finn.
Such a good book & I would love to read a sequel. Start writing, please, Dani!
I liked this book, but I didn't love it. All the five star reviews make me wonder if I'm missing something.
It just felt a little bit unbelievable really. I can't say I particularly warmed to the characters - I didn't find them real enough somehow. All in all, it kept me reading until the end but I was just a bit underwhelmed by it.
I found this a rather tedious repetitive read which I couldn't wait to end.The author took far too long to tell the story.
