What a great adventure these characters find themselves in. The have a wonderful journey and meet with friends to make it even more enjoyable. I loved everything about this book! 5 stars!!
Thanks to Star Bright Books and NetGalley for allowing me to review this delightful book.
For fans of Ceri and Deri already or new fans to the book series, this installment doesn’t disappoint! This is a silly little adventure full of wonder and excitement and a treasure map. - pirate treasure map to be exact! This cute story of friends following a treasure map and all the people they find on the way is fun and inviting for all ages! My three year old loved the spots and stripes of the main characters as well as the silly jokes throughout! (“Oooh!” Says Deri, who likes maps and pirates and treasure as much as cake!) I mean cake is pretty awesome so this treasure map must truly be something special!
This was a cute book about going on an adventure with a treasure map and friends. I think kids will definitely like this little book.
I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Which kid can resist a good story about treasure maps?
The illustrations were large, bold and extremely vibrant and the story was simple and cute.
In this story Ceri Cat, Deri Dog and their friends who also have alliteration names go on an adventure to find treasure. With map keys, symbols and a compass rose I think this book would be great for an early social studies classroom. I could see having this book in my
Grade 3 classroom as well as in younger grades too. My only pet peeve is that Ceri should technically be pronounced Seri because C followed by E should be an S sound, but cat is not. I realize this is a series of books so not really something an author could change, and a silly thing at that, but as an early years teacher I do know how important it is to teacher phonetic rules and this book breaks them. Oh well! Other than that it is super well written and is a fun story with potential academic connections!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!
Ceri & Deri offers a look into a friendship that just shouldn't be. A cat and dog who are best friends and love adventures. Ceri has a treasure map and has set out with her friends to discover what is in the treasure box.
This book was so cute! I loved the colorful artwork and the themes of friendship throughout the book. I think kids will love it because it's about finding buried treasure, but really the treasure is friendship and fun all along. Definitely a fun read and perfect for little kids or to gift to parents of little kids.
