I tried listening to this but ended up DNFing since this book simply didn't work for me. The narrator did a perfectly good job though!
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher/author for providing me with an ALC in exchange for my honest review.
This book was exactly what I wanted it to be! I loved it. I will make sure to check out other books by this author. When I requested this I was just intrigued by the concept of it and I loved how it turned out. This story had a great plot and if you have read this and enjoyed it, This was so much. It was such a great story. I would say give this one a try. I will continue to follow this author. Way to go to this author for not letting me down.
I highly enjoyed the narrator of the audiobook. Kept me listening.
I received this Arc from Netgalley. Thank you for the chance to read this book early. My review is honest and 100% my own thoughts about the book.
I really enjoyed this story. The narrator was enjoyable and made me fall in love with the story and characters even more. Even though there were a lot of characters it wasn’t overwhelming.
I loved the blend of several genres and it has me with the romantic suspense and the fact that it has paranormal aspects as well! This is up my ally. Even though this book was a long one it was well worth it
Really great audiobook. Loved the narrator. The story was well written and even though there were many characters, only once was I scratching my head as to who was who.
The story's telling has me head over heels in love. The narrator's voice may be heard throughout the whole of the book in almost every chapter. It is something that I would like hearing once again.
I listened to the audio version of this book. Once I adjusted the speed of presentation I enjoyed the narration of this book. We find an entertaining listen with many fantasy favourites; a fight of good against evil, Angels, Demons, fast paced fights, a kick-ass female lead, along with other well developed strong male and female characters. This story also has some sexy interludes, which for me are probably the weakest part as there are many instances of virtually the same text appearing in their description. But that apart, this the first in the Elioud series is well worth picking up. No cliff hanger at the end, but at the same time nicely sets up a lead into book 2. Thanks to Zephon books and NetGalley for letting me listen to an audio ARC of this book. The views expressed are all mine freely given.
Ok, this is not what, I typically read. However I liked it. It’s enjoyable and was a nice change of base from everything I’ve been reading lately. It does get a little heavy times but in a good way. And the audiobook is incredible
The Harlequin & The Drangue by Liane Zane pulled me in from the very beginning. The book is a blend of several genres that really appealed to me. I loved the romantic suspense elements, the thriller, action-adventure, and paranormal aspects. The storyline flowed so well, and kept my interest and escapement from reality. I loved how the author wrote such vivid descriptions that I could envision so many details. Talon David was incredible performing the book. She really brought the characters to life with her voice. I definitely will listen to more books by this author and narrator. Thank you #NetGalley and #BooksGoSocial Audio for allowing me to listen and review this book. I loved it!
That was so intense.
This is a pretty long at over 500 pages, or 12 hours for the audiobook. And honestly right from the beginning it was a ride. It is fast paced and doesn't let up, filled with action and intrigue. The writing style is very vivid and leads itself so well for imagining you're watching it instead of reading it. It would make an incredible film.
Talon David did an incredible job narrating the audioboook.
Its an OK listen for Fantasy lovers but Sorry not for me it was just too predictable Demons and Angels but with different and confusing names and a love story between two opposites which could lead to their death if a demon catches them it felt like a cross between Twilight and Angels and Demons
This book felt like a FBI or CIA kind of book. So there are several people undercover. It started slow and I struggled to stay interested. The narrator was Talon David and she was good.
I wanted……. more.
I probably wouldn’t recommend this.
Thanks BooksGoSocial audio via NetGalley.
I left my honest review.
Thank you to Liane Zane and Net Galley for a review copy.
4.5/5
Olivia Markham is a strong, badass modern day warrior. By day, she is an intelligent CIA agent tracking down sexual predators and by night she is a vigilante exacting justice. The audiobook was fast-paced and jumps straight into the action. The narrator Talon David really brought the book to life, and I particularly liked the Drangues narrative.
The instant attraction between the Mihail and Olivia is clear from the get go.
The world building was strong and allowed for vivid scenery within one’s imagination while listening along.
I read this book previously in print and listened to this in prep for reading the next. I definitely liked reading the print version better. I am, however, a bigger fan of print.
Print Version: 4 stars
Audiobook: 3 stars
This book was a pleasant surprise in an odd package. Although I am not a fan of the cover or the formatting of the novel filled with supernaturals in Eastern Europe, this book took me back to what I read as a teenager. Liane Zane greatly improved upon what I used to read by indie authors in high school. Olivia Markham, a young and intelligent CIA officer working a covert op in Vienna, dons a hood by night as a vigilante. Her story becomes intertwined with Asmodeus and a semi-human warrior, or drangue, named Mihail. This story kicks off from page one and I HIGHLY suggest reading it. Props to Liane Zane for crafting this vibrant word and writing an enticing story. Now... where is the second one!?!
I loved this book! It was super fast-paced (which I really enjoyed) and the plot and characters were really well written. There was always something exciting happening that made me not want to stop listening.
The beginning of this Book was absolutely fantastic. But then it got somewhat chaotic and I got a little lost in the story. The end was quite entertaining.
This is a good book for action; which on the whole is an enjoyable and entertaining read. Told from different characters perspectives, the book provides nice insight into most of the main characters. The descriptions of the places where events happen brought the story to life and it is obvious that the Author has a great knowledge of these cities and places.
In the not so enjoyable category, I would say that quite a few times in the first 25% I felt very confused - there seemed to be bits of the story missing; and on skipping back to check without joy, I can only assume much is left to the imagination or assumptions: However, once the story got going, it was fast paced and flowed nicely.
I listened to the audio book which I enjoyed (thanks NetGallery Listen Now) and I would particularly commend the Narrator, who did great with pronunciation of the places and streets.
