Virginia Heath has quickly become one of my new, absolute favorite historical romance authors! Her writing and characters are just as beautiful as her adorable cover designs!

This is the first book I have read by this author and I like the way she writes her characters and story. I found this one to be entertaining, funny and I couldn't put it down.

I wasn't getting the chemistry between the two characters like the author intended. I could sense there was attraction throughout, but it felt more like a crush or close friends. I didn't feel the chemistry for them to be in love.

This is the second in the series. I haven't read the first book, but I felt this read well as a stand alone. Overall this is a great book and I can't wait to read more from this author.

Such a sweet enemies to lovers story ! I had so much fun reading this one and I’m not sure why I waited this long to read it ! Giles and Diana are my fav kind of couple - their sarcasm and banter is off the charts ; and although they keep fighting their attraction for each other you can actually see them fall in love ( so not one of those instantaneous lust to love stories )

I loved the first book in this series but unfortunately found this one so boring. Really wanted to love this one but just felt that it was harder to get into than the first and was a lot more angsty.

Overall, I thought this was a good story. There were times when the pacing seemed a bit off, in particular with the sexual tension. But the emotional aspects were touching, and the leads worthy.

Diana Merriwell is an intelligent, independent, and feisty heroine. I admired her courage in living her “secret life” and her righteous motivation for it: to support and protect her sisters while fighting to right the wrongs in the wider world. I enjoyed how Diana was determined to help Giles unravel his mystery not only because he was a family friend, but also because it was the right thing to do (and she’s the right person for the task). I knew from the moment she met Giles in book one (Never Rescue a Rogue) that they would be the perfect match and that their road to an HEA would be fraught with humor, heart, and fun.

I love Giles Sinclair (there, I said it). I fell in love with him in as a secondary character in Never Rescue a Rogue. He had an easy charm, his sarcasm made his supposed apathy hilarious, and he was the perfect foil for Diana’s go-get ‘em approach. Despite Giles’ personal struggles, he put the wants/needs of others first. He valued the friendship of those around him; he was even a little surprised by their support.

Ms. Heath deftly wove the threads of this rom-com together in such a way that it was heartwarming, hilarious, and heartbreaking all at the same time. I especially enjoyed the external difficulties that plagued them on their journey. What a wonderful story of two people in love but too busy protecting the other to notice what everybody else already saw. This story was so authentic and realistic; it made me laugh, cry, and genuinely happy. Heat level you ask? 3/steamy on page scene(s) and language.

Did I say I absolutely adored this book?! It’s certainly one of my absolute favorites by Virginia Heath and one of her best books (and series). I highly, HIGHLY recommend Never Rescue a Rogue.

I loved this book so much! Despite not reading the first book in the trilogy, I didn't feel like I was missing anything and it read well as a stand alone. I really loved Giles and Diana as characters and their dynamic!

Great book. I enjoyed Reading it. The characters and plot were interesting life like and easy to connect with.

My god I loved every second of this book! I hate every word every punctation mark right the hell up. From the very beginning i found this book so funny. The banter was top tier and pining had me clutching my chest and punching my kindle with giddiness.

I happen to love this series — adorable, happy, laugh-out-loud novels all. This, however, is my least favorite, despite liking Diana and Giles. I guess it felt too heavily foreshadowed, inevitable, and obvious. I’d read it once but not cherish it.

When Minerva Merriwell married Hugh Standish, Earl of Fareham, the three Merriwell sisters not only left behind the poverty of Clerknwell for Mayfair, but they also found a new family that, unfortunately for the middle sister, Diana, includes Hugh’s best friend, Giles Sinclair whose quarrels and easy banters hooked me up for hours. Having been raised in poverty by a father who was ready to use her to pay his debts, Diana, despite her improved circumstances, is determined to earn her own money and she values her freedom and independence too much to ever consider getting married. She works for the popular newspaper Tribune where her family thinks she simply nitpicks grammar.

The truth is far more complicated. Not only Diana writes the gossip column that reveals all the dark secrets of the ton, but she is also the Sentinel, the investigative journalist who’s been bringing to light the evil schemes of those in power. Having read and enjoyed the first book in the Merriwell Sisters series, Never Fall For Your Fiancée, I was already familiar with the characters of Diana and Giles and I was really looking forward to reading their story since, already in the first book, the chemistry between these two characters was high and their bickering and witty banter was highly entertaining. Now, they have taken things up a notch having formed some kind of friendship that has turned into strong attraction that they find very difficult to deny as they spend more and more time together.

I loved the characters of Diana and Giles. They share a complicated relationship with their own fathers and a strong desire for independence. They have a slow-burn enemies-to-friends-to-lovers kind of romance made more entertaining by two fantastic supporting characters: Giles’s valet, Dalton, who doesn’t mind speaking his own mind, and Diana’s younger sister Vee, who tries – and fails – to act as a chaperone and protect her sister’s virtue during an impromptu trip to Giles’s country estate.

I knew before the end of the first book that the second one would be Giles and Diana and boy did it deliver! This book felt more serious than the first one but not in a bad way, it was just a bit more intense. The characters were still fun and I was still swooning by the end

Historical romance is not my favorite genre, however I really enjoyed the rivals to lovers and the mystery plot of discovering the MMC ancestry. Overall I quite enjoyed it, even if it is not my preferred subgenre

This one was really fun! Thanks for the opportunity to read it early. Will definitely check out Virginia Heath's next book.

I WOULD DIE FOR GILES. I would also shove Diana out of the way to get to him if I'm being honest because I want him for MYSELF. There's just something about a "bad" guy, especially when it's an act... Heath makes the buttoned up nature of historical romance into something so fun and heartwarming, I swear. There is also an added component of a bit of a mystery here with Giles' parentage that needs to be sorted that brings the two characters together and adds something more to an otherwise stereotypical historical romance. I'm here for it and will take another, please.

Posting review a bit late due to some personal circumstances, but absolutely thrilled to have been granted this ARC. Loved this book and love that especially with the surge in popularity of shows like Bridgerton, romance of this type is getting even more popular. So fun!
