Reapers are back again and are trying to stop others. I read several book from the series, although this story did caputerd me it didn't slay me or leave me breathles. Chevone and Rurac are given second chance and the story/fight with the others is just beginning.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley

Finally, another Reaper story on Netgalley. Ever since Dark Alpha’s temptation (book 9) the Reaper series has not appeared on Netgalley due to a different publisher. So I had already mentally prepared myself for the withdrawal effects of not knowing how Erith (Death), her mate Cael and all of her Reapers would fight the others. But then, suddenly, Dark Alpha’s Passion was on Netgalley and I got granted the arc. Yay! This story is about Ruarc, who has found out that one of his best friends, Rordan, is actually not a Fae, but a Reaper. His family has been threatened by the Others, and now he has to help the Others by getting to the Reapers. Which, conveniently his friend Rordan is. So now he has to choose between his friend and his family. And then, the love of his life, Chevonne, suddenly is back in his life. At the worst time. Is this a coincidence or not? Chevonne had her heart broken by Ruarc, when he walked out on her without an explanation. And when she runs into him after all those years, she figures she deserves an apology. But she didn’t realize that now she was seen with Ruarc and she will be targeted. Because the others are closing in and recruiting Fae. Even from closer than Chevonne would ever suspect. And when she is forced to protect her family and betray Ruarc, she realizes she may never find true love again.

Can Chevonne and Ruarc fight of all the dangers and get a HEA after all? As per usual, Donna tears your heart out and leaves you breathless and shaken. Only to pick you up and put everything back together.

Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

Pretending to be a double agent for the Others has Ruarc on high alert. Every step he takes is being watched. Just as he's thanking fate that the love of his life is no longer around to witness his dilemma she walks right back in. He's never been able to forget Chevonne and it seems she feels the same, despite the way he had to leave her. Neither of them realizes that something bigger is at play and most importantly they have no idea if their love will help them escape the clutches of the Others or if their betrayal shoves them right in the middle of the war.

I feel like it’s been absolutely forever since I’ve read a Reapers book! I think I’ve missed out on the last three since it switched publishers, but I was happy to get my hands on this one.

As soon as I started this, I thought, “this is what Donna Grant does best.” While she may dabble in Contemporary Romance, I feel like her voice fits Paranormal Romance the best. This is where she truly shines and can really flex her writing muscles.

There’s a lot to love about this book. The romance was fantastic. The worldbuilding continues to amaze me. And I especially love how each book builds on each other, creating a larger, complex world. It’s really fun.

That being said, I know I’ll be returning to read the other books that I’ve missed. But I truly hope that Grant continues to writing in this world and write more Paranormal Romances in general.

The ending is great
My rating is 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4. I’ve been a fan of this series since I started reading Donna Grant’s works. The earliest Reaper’s books are the best, so that would make this one not the best. It’s good, but I found that the first half was not of the caliber of prior books. We’re introduced to the hero and heroine, but unlike prior books, the backstory for them was just so-so. We are told what happened in the past and why they aren’t together. But then they see each other, and they just fall back into their old ways. There is no true depth to the story Then, with the second half of the book, the action starts. We learn more about the Others, who are now working independently from the original Others. All of the second half is more detailed, with twists and turns that made up for the lackluster start. This book could be read as a stand-alone, but the story would make more sense if you started with book one. This series is nearly completed, and I hope Donna Grant gives the main characters more depth and brings back some of the key characters from her Dark Kings series. I was given an ARC by the author through NetGalley, and this is my honest opinion.

Love lost and found! I enjoyed reading about Ruarc and Chevonne and how they deal with the obstacles before getting their HEA. I thought it started slow but picked up midway and finished well. Looking forward to the next book!

This is book 14 in the Reapers and I would absolutely read the previous books before this one! There is a bigger story arc happening than just this one book and they are interconnected! With that said, I was honestly surprised that Ruarc was already getting a story! But honestly, it fit right in with the way the bigger story line is going and I loved it! Ruarc and Chevonne have so many things going against them right the start, and with the twist on who was pushing some of those buttons and the events that unfold? My heart broke for her so much more than for him. This story drew me in from the beginning and kept me reading it all in one sitting. And the fact that not only did we get a story that is slightly different than the other Reaper stories didn't hinder my enjoyment of it in any way! I loved a new and different story but I also loved seeing previous characters and characters that I am impatiently waiting on stories for! I really don't want to say a whole lot because I just feel like it would take away from the enjoyment of the story, but I loved it start to finish!

This is book #14 in the Reapers series. Our MC's are Ruarc, who we met in the last book, and Chavonne. I loved Ruarc so much and am so glad he got his own book. I love Donna Grant and everything she writes. I gave this book 4 stars because I feel like I didn't connect with Chavonne as I do with all the other females in this series. Donna makes me connect with all her characters, but I feel something was left out with this book. Donna will continue to be one of my favorite authors of all time though.

This is the 14th book in this series and I do recommend reading them in order for best enjoyment. Ruarc is secretly working for the Reapers and Death. He never expected to come across his lots love, Chevonne. Sparks fly but what will happen when Chevonne puts herself in danger to help Ruarc? Fast-paced read with great world building, lots of twists and turns and steamy chemistry. I liked it.

I am a big fan of Donna Grant books and the Reaper. This is book 14 and with only 2 more books in this series left things are ramping up. This story is about two lost lovers finding each other again. As always there are many obstacles that have separated Ruarc and Chavonne. Once they work through them they can to find their way back to each other. It is always a bumpy ride.

A story of two lost lovers finding each other again. Many obstacles have separated Ruarc and Chavonne but now is their time to find their way back to each other. It is always a bumpy ride to the HEA in Donna Grant’s books!

Dark alpha's passion by Donna Grant.
Reapers book 14.
The Fae Others think they have me in their grip, but little do they know that I’m working as a double agent. My alliance now lies with the Reapers and Death, and it is my mission and duty to destroy the malignant organization before their rot spreads. Unfortunately, a surprise splits my focus—a more than welcome one. I never thought to reunite with my lost true love. And now that I have, I must find a way to shelter her from the evil Six and convince my new friends that she’s not a threat. Admittedly, there is some doubt. How can there not be? But I trust her. And I haven’t seen her, held her, kissed her for centuries. I loved her then, will love her always, and will do whatever it takes to keep her by my side for as long as we have. Her cunning and courage hold me captive, and our passion knows no bounds. If only the timing were better—and the world safer.
A very good read with good characters. I loved the cover. 4*.

I have voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this title given to me through NetGalley. This book was just absolutely wonderful. It was just so easy to get lost in and I just couldn’t put it down. I just lost myself within this amazing story. I most definitely will read more by this author.

I'm so happy we got Raurc's story! He really made an impact on me in the previous book and he wasn't even in there long. Some characters just grab you right away and that's exactly what he did.

We are getting so close to the end, but the more we get, the more Reapers are being created. I wonder what Erith has in store for all these extra Reapers.

We still have a couple more reapers unmated and I'm especially looking forward to Balladyn's story. He's another one that has always had my attention.

It’s been a while since I have read the Reaper series by Donna Grant. Not exactly sure why I stopped at the fourth book because I really do enjoy it. Anyhow, I’m jumping back in with Dark Alpha's Passion, the fourteenth book of the series.

He gave her up 300 years ago so he could correct the ill doings of his father. She just wanted to know why so she can get closer and go on with her life. Never did they think that could be together again. This was a second chance at a love for Ruark and Chevonne. That is if they could survive betrayal, family secrets, the Others, and what the leader of the six has in store for Chevonne.

I almost feel like a virgin to the series since it has been so long. No matter, it was still a good read. 300 years apart and they got back together just like that. Whew! Talk about fast! Lots of characters and couples that I’m not familiar with was a bit of a distraction for me. Is it wrong that I was more curious about what the deal between Aisling and Xaneth than Ruark and Chevonne? Anyhow, plenty of secrets, and battles to be had plus some steamy moments between the main characters to keep me reading. Ms. Grant’s fans are going to enjoy this one.

I always look forward to books by author Donna Grant. I have really enjoyed the Reapers series. Ruarc is trying to balance helping the Reapers, keeping the Others away and trying to repaid all the favors his father who died left him holding and he is repaying in order to save his family. Ruarc broke up with Chevonne over 300 years ago in order not to let his father misdeeds taint her or her family. Chevonne accidentally see Ruarc and it brings back memories and she wants answers as to why their relationship ended. They end up talking and end up back together. Levi ends up dying thinking that Chevonne betrayed him after he shared some secrets with her. He ends up coming back as a Reaper and slowly finds out the truth. I loved Ruarc and loved how loyal he was to his family. Chevonne was not my favorite heroine but I still really enjoyed the book. These books would be hard to read as a stand alone but you will not regret going back and reading the other.

Received this book as a ARC from Netgalley for my honest opinion.

No Fae can escape the Reapers. They are like the Avengers of Death, answering only to her. In Dark Alpha's Passion (Reaper #14) by Donna Grant there is a group who believe that they can take on the Reapers. Using Ruarc, The Six believe that it is not just possible but probable. Poor Ruarc. I liked this one who tried so hard to be the good son and care for an ungrateful family. I also liked how he turned the tables on the group. Lots of twists and surprises in his story.

As always with a Grant book this is a fast paced story. This time with a couple that have a history. Chevonne and Ruarc have a rather sad past but finding each other again seems to make up for it. Life does not go as planned so their journey is even more intriguing. There is also a major subplot with some other characters so that this is an intense read. More questions than answers on the overarching theme. Again the Grant style so the reader wants the next book pronto.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a good story this is. Ruarc and Chevonne have history. Timing is suspect when they reconnect. The Others have big plans and they are include both of them. It's a twisted tale with a happy ending.

This all boils down to good versus evil. Ruarc has been working so hard to protect his family and help bring down the Others. Working with the Reapers while pretending to work with the Others has been taxing and dangerous. When his past comes back in the form of Chevonne he is more than willing to pick up where they left off. Ruarc broke things off with her and she has always stayed his one and only. Chevonne has come to accept that Ruarc is the one for her and no other will ever come close to how she feels for him. When they are finally back on track the war is coming to a head. Will good win and will their love for each other be enough? I was given an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely love this series from Donna Grant. This book is drawing us closer to the end of the second arc of the series - and the tension is HIGH. Donna Grant said she didn't initially intend to include this story - but Ruarc wouldn't leave her alone. I am so glad she did write it!

Ruarc was left in a very tenuous position at the end of the last two books. He is a good person put in an incredibly difficult situation. Then we add in the reappearance of love of his life that he has been protecting from his family difficulties for a very long time. Chevonne and Ruarc were definitely soul mates - but Ruarc pushed her away after his father died to keep the ugliness of the mess he left behind from his dirty dealings.

Chevonne and Ruarc are definitely starcrossed lovers. This book will definitely give you all the feelings of sadness and empathy for both of them and the untenable circumstances. In her usual style, Donna Grant twists and turns things so that it all works out - but for a while there I really wasn't sure it would.

I really really enjoyed this book - but I would not necessarily recommend this one as a starting point in the series. And when I say series - I don't mean all of her world (which is all interconnected) - but just the Reapers portion of it. But if you do - you should clear your schedule because you are going to want to get caught up in a hurry!

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.
