Cube Kid's tales are insanely popular with juvenile and middle-grade readers who are into gaming and Minecraft. For any teacher or librarian struggling to get the gamer kids to read, these cute and funny stories are a great addition to their collections.

Thanks to NetGalley

Best-selling author, Cube Kid, introduces the second book in his series about Eeebs the kitten who lives some incredible adventures in the world of Minecraft. Fans of the Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior series will find familiar, emblematic characters here in the Nether.

Now that Eeebs knows he's part of the Prophecy and the coming war against the Eyeless One, he has one goal: find Runt and help him in his quest. While stationed at Villagetown, the little cat tries to find his place among the Lost Legion and learn more about his hidden powers. But life in Villagetown never stays quiet for very long!

Secondly, No speeches, MAD BORED I'd not pay 8 dollars for it

My 8-year-old loves the Cube Kid Minecraft books, and this is no exception! The narrator, Michael Gallagher, does an excellent job voicing the various characters. This is a great book in a fun series perfect for late elementary school-aged children. Highly recommend this one!

This is the 2nd book of the series. I loved this story so much that I am going to read the first book.

Eebs, the main character, is a cat in a new town. Eebs is the chosen one

Throughout the story, Eebs learns about his new surrounding and how to level up.

I would recommend this book to a middle-grade student.

What a world!

Thankfully for me, I'm a bit more familiar with this world now, so I was able to follow along and enjoy this lively tale. I enjoyed Michael Gallagher's performance in the audio version. This is a fast paced story, and he does a lovely job.

This audiobook series is a great way to tempt grade school and middle school aged kids to reading, and their folks will enjoy it too.

I received a free digital audiobook of "Tales of an 8-Bit Kitten: A Call to Arms" by Cube Kid and narrated by Michael Gallagher in exchange for an honest review of the title.

This four hour audiobook is fantastic reading for upper elementary and on through middle school. The second in the "Tales of an 8-Bit Kitten" series, "A Call to Arms" continues to follow Eeebs on his hero's journey to protect Villagetown. As a kitten turned Minecraft warrior, Eeebs has a lot of questions about the world around him, making the series approachable for both Minecraft beginners and experts alike. The story's pacing strikes a perfect balance between action-packed and expositional, again, to the title's approachability for those new to the Minecraft realm. Cube Kid's word choice makes his series immersive, easily devourable, and a welcome challenge to budding readers. Michael Gallagher's voice acting adds depth and character to Cube Kid's work. With a full cast of characters, Gallagher seamlessly moves through the characters' voices. Gallagher does not shy away from monster sound effects either, something that I believe would endear him to young readers. I recommend "Tales of an 8-Bit Kitten" to 3rd - 6th grade, reluctant readers, young gamers, and as a good choice for a parent-child read.

Thanks to Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the audio ARC of this!

Perfect for the younger end of middle grade Minecraft fans, my daughter (8) is obsessed with this series. This was no exception, but she demanded the ebook alongside the audio because she didn’t want to miss out on the illustrations. For a kiddo who needed some support reading, this would be perfect alongside the physical or ebook. The narrator did a good job.

As this is a minecraft book I listened to this with my daughter who loved it.

The narrator was engaging and interesting, bringing life to the story. The story was well written for a child’s book, a strange mix of what seemed almost like a certain role-playing tabletop game and several other computer games in the realm of minecraft. It was funny listening to how the protagonist progressed with the different stat screens and meanings explained well and in a way that children understand.

This was a fun audio book to listen to in the car with my 8 year old son, who is a big fan of Minecraft. I do wish we had heard the first book before this one, but it was still a fun listen. The main Character, Eeebs encounters many obstacles and adventures while learning about his new powers. The narration was great, and the characters were distinct. It was enjoyable.

Tales of an 8-Bit Kitten: A Call to Arms: An Unofficial Minecraft Adventure by Cube Kid continues the story of Eeebs, a kitten with the superpower of monsters in the world of Minecraft.
The story starts exactly where the first book left off, Eeebs learning more about his powers and finding a way with the mage to help villagers.

This is the second book kitten in Minecraft world by Cube Kid and Narrated by Michael Gallagher, funny and entertaining.

Many Thanks to Andrews McMeel Audio and NetGalley for the ARC, I have given my honest review.
