Cyn is spontaneous, sometimes that's a good thing but for Cyn it's usually not. Hunt is a great Lawman. This means that he does things by the book. So much happened in this book. It was hard to believe that I was reading the same book by the end. I really enjoyed reading, Surrendering to Hunt.
Good mystery of Hunt Wilde trying to solve the mystery of robberies in the area of several older people. He also has to deal with the domestic abuse of Angela Wilson by her boyfriend Rad. Cyn Wilson has been trying to help her sister Angela and interacted a lot with Hunt Wilde during the time of trying to help Angela. When Angela and her baby Lana Joy Wilson disappeared Cyn and Hunt worked together trying to solve the mystery of their disappearance. Enjoyed the book and would recommend it to others. Our library doesn’t purchase paperbacks but it’s a book I would purchase for myself.
This book was a page turner! It was a lifetime movie, the writing was great. There were a few too many themes for my liking. The side characters were well written, and theres 3 more couples I want to know more about! This is part of a series but this one can standalone.
Small town Sheriff Hunt Wilde is all about law and order. So when a free spirited, purple haired woman is caught speeding several times something pulls at him wanting to get to know her but every time he stops her for speeding all she does is glare at him.
Cyn may be wild, loose and free spirited but she's loyal, compassionate, smiles and protects the ones she loves.
Hunt heads out on a domestic violence call at his ex-friend's home his purple haired beauty is at a face off with her sister's boyfriend.
When domestic violence turns into murder Cyn realizes that she might be next and knows she has to protect her innocent, infant niece.
How often has Cyn's Wilde man caught her speeding and now will he capture her heart as well?
A suspenseful, cowboy romance.
Thank you Netgalley and the author for a digital copy. Read and reviewed voluntarily and the opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own
This is such a wonderful book I love our tough girl, Cyn, who is trying to help her sister get out of an abusive relationship. Hunt is a rule following deputy, who grows more and more protective of Cyn. They have great chemistry and while the fall fast after finally getting together, they were on their way the LONG before their first date. This book isn't just a love story, it is also a suspense story because of Cyn's sister, Angela and her bad news boyfriend, Rad. What I really loved is that we got SEVERAL chapters after where most authors cut off their HEA. It was a nice change to really see where their story went, not just a quick epilogue. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and highly recommend this book.
this was a new author for me, really enjoyed the story, it is the second book in a series, but can be read as a standalone.
This is such a fantastic book and I devoured it in a day. Be prepared to cry, I cried several times and loved feeling so emotional. This book is worth re reading. I immediately felt for Cyn as she tries to help her sister out of an abusive relationship. Loved how protective Hunt is regarding Cyn. Loved their chemistry and how hard they fall for each other. The book also kept me on edge, just how bad is Rad? Had some happy tears in their happy ever after. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.
Hunt is a by the book deputy sheriff, and Cyn is the town bad girl. He’s usually giving her a ticket, but when Cyn needs help, she knows she has to trust Hunt. While trying to save Cyn’s sister and niece from a bad situation, Hunt snd Cyn learn the other is not quite who they’d initially thought. I loved the love story between them. Even though the rest of the story had a fair amount of angst, it didn’t get weighed down. Was a very quick read. Highly recommend.
Jennifer Ryan is my favorite rancher romance with a heavy mystery mixed writer. Surrendering to Hunt is second in a series (Wyoming Wilde) and I couldn't put it down! Surrendering to Hunt works as stand alone, but I suggest reading Book 1 to introduce the main characters. There are also characters here that are connected to the McGrath series, which is very similar in tone to this book.
Surrendering Hunt perfectly balances some serious issues with a instant love romance. We have a cop that is a believable honest person, domestic violence, missing persons and more...(be sure to read the warnings at the start of the novel). I loved Hunt and his entire Wilde family. Cyn is such a lovable person and shows so much strength. There is so much drama for both of them tied to the mystery in this that the romantic moments are a perfect respite. Can't wait for the next!
Thank you #Netgalley for the early read. All opinions are my own. #Jennifer Ryan #SurrenderingtoHunt
The second book in this series has Hunt the sheriff helping Cyn who he has for the last few years stopped her many times for speeding and other things, she most definitely lives up to her name. What he does not understand is why she makes him go so crazy. So when she comes to him asking for help he knows that there is a problem.
Cyn owns her own business and also feels she needs to protect her sister who is married to an a-hole, she also worries about her niece as well. Trying not to upset her sister anymore she works at getting her to leave him. When her sister and her niece end up missing she turns to Hunt and he not only helps her but takes her in as well. The phase opposites attract is right and these two are it for each other. The problem is he continues to run into brick halls when looking for her sister. Read this powerful story to see what happens. A very emotional book with a lot of different characters to help it along.
Great read. The subject matter was hard at times due to Domestic Violence is never an easy subject, but the author did a great job with the storyline and how it can affect all aspects of a family's lifestyle.
Cyn is the local hairdresser and the one woman that all the men tell tall tales about being with. All she has ever wanted is someone to see and love her completely - not just for her looks. Cyn was responsible for raising her younger sister , Angela- their mother was a lost soul and did not have any idea how to raise her two daughters (she was always looking for a man to lover and take care of her).
Hunt has always been by the book -lawman. He j=has also given out too may speeding tickets to Cyn lately. Cyn has been speeding because she is trying to save her sister from her abuser boyfriend. Hunt has no choice but to follow her -when she refused to stop. What he finds is Angela and Cyn protecting her sister from the abuser. Angela was never ready to leave her boyfriend - until they had a baby . Unfortunately she was never able to leave him.
Hunt and Cyn must fight to find the missing infant and Angela -as they fight to find the Angela and her daughter they become closer. Each finds in the other the strength and love have been searching for.
Jennifer Ryan has written a new installment in the Wilde Series which addresses real life issues that affect several relationships, both indirectly and directly
Hunt Wilde and Cyn Wilson know each other very well with him being a law enforcement officer and Cyn liking to speed. She has no choice in noticing Hunt because he regularly issues speeding tickets to her. Hunt is lonely and is looking for someone he can have a forever love and Cyn just wants someone who gets her and will accept her as she is. She wants that person to appreciate what she brings to the relationship and that she will give 100% to make it work.
Cyn was raised in a home where she had to take on the responsibility of both running the household and taking care of her younger sister, Angela. Angela is in an abusive relationship and Cyn keeps trying to convince her to leave her boyfriend and move in with her. She eventually decides to leave but a series of circumstances causes the unthinkable to happen. Hunt proved to stand by Cyn throughout the ordeals that she has to encounter and proves to her that he is the man for her. Hunt admires Cyn for all that she has accomplished along with her devotion to her friends and family.
The author has given us a superb rendition of how an abusive relationship and an abuser can affect so many people and eventually the couple triumphs over the evil in their lives. I highly recommend this book and give it a solid thumbs up.
This was a very difficult book to read but, boy, was it worth it. Hunt is a by the book cop and cowboy who has watched Cyn for a long time. Cyn is a good time, party girl who hides the pain of watching her mother and sister in self-destructive relationships while trying to hold their family together. Hunt and Cyn finally come together because of a tragedy and through it all they support and love each other. Together they are both able to be who they really are and share themselves with another person. I absolutely loved them together.
I just couldn't put this book down. It has it all. Believe its the best book I've read this year! Jump in and get lost in this book!
A heartwarming and emotional story about two people who deserve an HEA. I loved this book, Jennifer Ryan!
Wow, suspense, intrigue and romance romance romance. Surrendering to Hunt begins with the reader thinking there is no way Hunt and Cyn will be together... at least not as quickly as it happens. They seem like oil and water but that changes as circumstances throw our characters together and create a quick and unbreakable bond. This romance still has plenty of plot lines to hook the reader and the growing love between Cyn and Hunt is just icing on the cake. These are characters you hate to leave behind when the book is finished.
I really enjoy Jennifer Ryans writing. I love the Wilde men and the women they end up with. This is a great series and I look forward to the next book.
I received a complimentary copy of Surrendering to the Hunt in exchange for an honest review. I did not realize this was the 2nd book in a series, but it was easy to read as a standalone.
This was a book that addressed some dark issues with domestic violence which may be a trigger for some readers. There were some parts of the story that were far fetched and would never happen in real life. The vehicle recovery scene being one those situations.
Also, as the story progressed, Cyn and Hunter's story became more focussed on extended family and less on the relationship between Cyn and Hunter. There were some emotional scenes at the end as the story was brought to conclusion that made the ending worth it..
The writing style was well done and it was an easy read.
A complimentary copy of this book was provided by NetGalley. Opinions and reviews are my own. Jennifer Ryan is one of my all time favorite authors! She is real and she is raw. She brings us back to our knees with this book and the Wilde family. I can't wait to read what she does with Max.
This second Wilde story centers on Hunt, Chase's brother and Cyn, owner of the local beauty salon and great friend of Hunt's sister-in-law. Cyn has begged her sister Angela to leave her abusive boyfriend for many years, to no avail. Hunt has been called to their house several times, mostly by Cyn, after several of the boyfriend's attacks.
Angela now has a baby, Lana, and she is finally determined to finally leave abusive relationship and start fresh. However, nothing goes according to plan, and Angela and baby Lana go missing. Cyn will stop at nothing to get them back. Hunt has been half in love with Cyn for awhile, but being an officer meant he felt he had to be content writing her tickets and giving warnings for her reckless driving. But when she puts herself in serious danger, he will stop at nothing to protect her and help bring her family home. The story deal very realistically with domestic abuse.
