I absoluelty love these kits. I run a book group that is all about the intersectionality of gender, race, class etc where we read fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and plays that dabble in an assortment of genres for ages twelve and up. A kit like this makes it 10x easier to prep for my discussion that month with a sort of guideline for what sort of questions can be asked on top of the author interviews. I also really enjoy the handouts that these kits provide. The book marks and even book related lists are great for patrons wanting more from the book group.

I read (and loved!) Queen a couple of years ago - the protagonist was a relatable, flawed millennial, and I thought the author's approach to heavier themes like mental health was very well done. I've been meaning to suggest this book to my Book Club for a group read, and these thoughtful questions and other Reader's Guide resources would be so helpful in guiding our discussion.

I love these Book Club Kits and especially the ones that include an interview with the author. I am impressed with how well thought out these book club kits are. They always include really great extras, like the videos and the bookmarks. I think they're a great resource for a book club to use. The included discussion questions are perfect for encouraging deeper exploration of the book's characters and themes, and I loved how Netgalley began including this in request. Will definitely use in the near future with my very own book club.

I really enjoyed the author's interview, especially when it touched on the friendships Queenie had and the importance of theraphy. About the discussion, I appreciated finding questions about Queenie's denial of what had happened, as well as the discussion about Queenie's healing journey throughout the book. The recipes were a nice-add on, I quite enjoyed them!

The "Queenie" book club kit by Candice Carty-Williams is an excellent resource for book clubs. This downloadable and printable kit includes an author interview, discussion questions, and more, enriching the reading experience. Sponsored by Gallery, it serves as a supplementary guide rather than the actual book.

When reviewing this kit, reflect on whether it met your expectations. Did it provide the necessary elements for your book club discussions? Was anything missing that your group needed? Highlight the parts you enjoyed and found useful, as well as any areas that were less effective. Providing this feedback will help improve future kits.

The book "Queenie" is a disarmingly honest and boldly political novel that blends the charm of "Bridget Jones’s Diary" with the depth of "Americanah." It tells the story of Queenie Jenkins, a twenty-five-year-old Jamaican British woman navigating life in London. Straddling two cultures and feeling out of place in both, Queenie works at a national newspaper where she constantly compares herself to her white middle-class peers. Following a messy breakup, she seeks solace in all the wrong places, leading to a series of questionable decisions.

Queenie's journey is a raw and relatable exploration of identity, self-worth, and the quest for meaning in a world filled with conflicting answers. With fresh and honest prose, Carty-Williams offers a compelling narrative that resonates with modern women searching for their place.

This kit is ideal for book clubs looking to facilitate engaging and thoughtful discussions about "Queenie."

This book club kit is a wonderful resource for discussions about Queenie. As a complex and nuanced character, the authors insights into Queenie and her motivations make for great exploration of the book and its themes for discussion. The questions are reflective, and really prompt an open discussion about the way readers might have related to Queenie. The recipes and music are a fun addition, and the book recommendations are well varied.

This is an incredibly useful book club kit. The discussion guide has some really thought provoking questions and is well supplemented by the interview with the novel's author. I adored the book and hearing Candice Carty-Williams's reflections was eye-opening and valuable!

In addition to the serious content, I admire how this kit includes so many fun features... the "Which Corgi Are You?" quiz was fantastic and so accurate. The playlist and recipes were really unique and awesome, and the further reading recommendations were spot on - a couple definitely added to my TBR. The support resources at the end were also thoughtful and I'm sure will be useful to some readers given the content.

Thanks NetGalley and We Are Bookish for creating this. Even though I'm not planning to discuss this in a book club soon (I was very late to the party with this book), I really enjoyed reflecting on the story and characters and working through the questions in my own head.
