This is such a fun, engaging book club kit! I love reading interviews with authors, and hearing about what inspired them to write their novel. The included discussion questions are perfect for encouraging deeper exploration of the book's characters and themes, the kit is easily printable/accessible and I loved how Netgalley began including on their sites. Will definitely use in the near future with my very own book club.

I absoluelty love these kits. I run a book group that is all about the intersectionality of gender, race, class etc where we read fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and plays that dabble in an assortment of genres for ages twelve and up. A kit like this makes it 10x easier to prep for my discussion that month with a sort of guideline for what sort of questions can be asked on top of the author interviews. I also really enjoy the handouts that these kits provide. The book marks and even book related lists are great for patrons wanting more from the book group.

Really awesome book club kit! Loads of information and activities to try out, really nice touch.
Will definitely look for further book club kits from these as they are really well put together.
Makes book club much more interesting (and they’re a lot better put together than the stuff I usually make 😂).
Thank you!!

This is an excellent, thoughtful book and its very good to pick for a book club- lots to discuss about access, self esteem, colorism and racism. This was a helpful guide with thought provoking discussion points given so you can build on that

Used as teaching materials, and it worked very well. Had to change a few things to made it fit the course, however the students enjoyed working with this book club kit.

I loved Queenie when I read it in 2020 - with themes including mental health, MeToo, and Black Lives Matter, it offers a lot for thoughtful discussion. This Book Club Kit provides more to draw from during your next bookish meetup. It features an illuminating interview with the author, Candice Carty-Williams, as well as 14 profound discussion questions. For some literary and social fun, this kit also includes printable bookmarks, a recipe for a Jamaican Bun (which I will be making right away), a recipe for a Prosecco cocktail, and a great playlist of songs Queenie herself would love. There's a fun "Which Corgi Are You?" quiz (I'm a Darcy), and reading recommendations for books similar to Queenie. The kit ends with valuable resources for readers who have gone through anything like Queenie does in the book. This is an excellent addition to Queenie, whether you're in a book club or not.

I appreciate some thought provoking questions and additional information from the author about Queenie. I liked this book, but it definitely started out slower for me.

This is a really fun resource for a book group. I loved the recipes, suggested playlists and the quiz, as well as finding the author interview an insightful way of sharing discussion points about the book. It also has enabled me to consider my own thoughts about the book, something I will enjoy sharing when discussing the book with store customers.

Good book club kit, I don't have much more to comment on this as I mis-read the description and I thought the book was included

As someone who has tried and failed to create or be apart of MANY book clubs, I absolutely love this kit! This book is one of my top books on my TBR along with a few friends, after showing this to them we have decided to read and discuss together and use this kit to guide us! And all the extra goodies are so cool! I really loved the couple little quizzes for the book club to do and the food recipe. Cannot wait to make it

I absolutely loved the book Queenie. If you haven't read Queenie I highly recommend that you do.

What is Queenie about?
In the book Queenie we meet Queenie Jenkins who is a 25 year old Jamaican British woman who is living in London. Queenie works at a national newspaper and struggles to straddle the two cultures of her heritage as she doesn't feel that she fits into either and really wants to find a place where she belongs and a place where she can be the true authentic Queenie. Not only that but working at the newspaper makes her compare herself to the white middle class peers that she has to work with and write about. After a break up with her long term boyfriend Queenie seeks comfort in all of the wrong places. Getting herself involved with really comfortable situation and really terrible relationships who continuously keep putting her down and making her question her self worth and let me tell you Queenie really is a true Queen and she deserves so much better. The book makes you think about your own self worth. The self worth about the people around you and letting you know that you deserve to be treated with respect and treated like the queen you truly are.

If you haven't read this book which I really do recommend that you do. Why not read it as part of a reading group. Not part of a reading group. Me neither. But I like to read my books along side a few of my friends and then we can stop and talk about the book as we go along which is really fun.

This book really help you with your discussions in book clubs. It has a great interview with the author. Questions to ask about how you feel about the book, some beautiful bookmarks which you can use while reading this book, recipes for Jamaican Easter spiced buns and pomegranate orange prosecco cocktails which you can have at your book club meeting, an awesome playlist, which has some really awesome artists and songs on it, a fun which Queenie are you quizz, some resources that are helpful if you have been effected by anything that has happened in the book and suggestions on what to read now that this book is finished.
