I love this series. The characters are well written and the storylines are well thought out and bring the characters to life.
Rebecca Zanetti's Deep Op series keeps getting better and better! Jethro finally gets his happily ever after with Gemma and her daughter. Rebecca Zanetti is another great author of romantic suspense that I enjoy reading in lines of J. D. Robb, Christy Reece etc. Her characters are well thought and developed, and with twisted plots and drama, her stories are worth a read!
Anything Rebecca writes I will need to read. I loved every single of this book! Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time!
This is an excellent book! No other words needed! I really enjoyed this book! Thank you for a great book!
Book #5 in the Deep Ops series. This series centers around a team of operatives with each book featuring one of the team. They make excellent stand alones but members of the team move throughout the stories so reading the back titles will give you more background on the team, plus they are great reads too. Rebecca Zanetti is well known for mixing genre in her titles. Romance, mystery, thriller, family dynamics, just about any and every thing you'd expect in great fiction, Zanetti has skillfully woven into each of her books. She has several series running currently, so if you love the Deep Ops books, be sure to check her other series too.
In UNFORGIVEN, two story lines run concurrently. Gemma is constantly moving from town to town. She's hiding from an abusive ex and trying to keep her daughter safe. Jethro has chosen to work as a professor at the college where Gemma is also working. He is taking a break from Ops to settle his internal conflicts and master the rage that seems to surface far too quickly. The two of them will join forces when Gemma's ex finds her. They, along with several members of the Ops team, will convince her stalker that he'd best leave her alone. This condenses what is really an exciting story down to a few sentences but you'll love the journey that the Ops team handles all too well.
I usually like Rebecca's title and I have read the previous titles of this series. This titles fits well with the rest of the books in the series. This series reminds me alot of criminal minds but with love included. I enjoy it.
Another great story by Rebecca Zanetti! You can always count on a great story line, amazing characters, suspense and action that will keep you reading until the very last page. Great story!
Although I’m waffling with Malcolm/Pippa’s story (book 1) I think this is my favorite in the series. I’m leery of cutesy children in books but absolutely loved Gemma’s toddler Trudy! Jethro’s character has been a bit in the background especially his personality. I could’ve read 200 pages more of him - his inner dialogue and outer and inner control. It was the same with Gemma. Sometimes you click with a character and this was with both. Two more characters are introduced to the gang - Ian and Oliver - twins who were in MI6 with Jethro. There was more of former Marine now lawyer Scott. His introduction to Millie has me excited!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Gemma Falls is hiding with her young daughter and takes a job at a local university. Jethro Hanson has given up his job at MI6 to lead a quiet life after dealing with a tough serial killer case. He has helped the Deep Ops team, but wants to avoid going back to that life. Soon Gemma and Jethro meet and he tries to figure out how to make her his while dealing with a returning serial killer and her stalker.
There are plot twists and turns, suspense, a serial killer, explosions, stalkers, and of course, more antics by Roscoe. This is an excellent suspenseful series with wonderful characters. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
I have thoroughly enjoyed every one of Zanetti's Deep Op series, and this is definitely no exception. The characters are well-developed and very likeable. I am happy to see that Jethro has his story. His relationship with Gemma, progressed in a realistic manner, Gemma and her daughter are running from an abusive ex. The story is full of adventure and humor. This can be read on its own, but the series is such a delight, I would recommend it.
Unforgiven in the Deep Ops series by Rebecca Zanetti has literally blown all of the other books out of the water. I say this because I impatiently waited for each new installment in this series because Ms. Zanetti built her characters to be rich and engaging on the usual, but Jethro and Gemma’s story was one that you did not want to put down. You literally felt out of breath because it was so fast paced and enthralled you that to wait the next let alone a few days to get to the ending would have left you feeling somehow unfulfilled. Jethro that we met from the previous books turned out to have even more depth than the readers thought we knew, and the introduction of Trudy adds a sweetness and urgency that tempered the heat, because do not get me wrong, its Zanetti so there’s heat! So now you’re breathing fast wondering will they get to live long enough to get to the good, I mean yikes! Everything is happening to them at once and they can’t seem to have time to rally themselves even with a crew of other amazing OP pals. You will find yourself wanting to read all the other titles just to see how we go to this story here, though it’s a standalone book. Forget keeping Gemma and Trudy safe, you’ll want help getting your heart rate at a safe range reading this, kudos on this one! All in all, another amazing read in the series. This review was given on the ARC copy received from the Publisher via NetGalley in return for my honest opinion.
Highly entertaining and emotionally trilling journey that was so hard to put down. Sweetly sexy and heart racing action packed adventure that was filled with intriguing charters, witty banter and exciting twists.... was a great read from beginning to end.
I always enjoy books by Rebecca Zanetti and the Deep Ops series is one of my favorites. Lots of action, suspense, and romance make this hard to put down. Recommended.
Great continuation of the Deep Ops series. Jethro falls for Gemma and is determined to help her with her problems even though he has problems of his own. Jethro insists he can handle things on his own but the team lets him know that when one of them is involved in something, they're all involved. I highly recommend this book.
Unfortunately this was close to a DNF for me. I picked it up and put it down multiple times, and ended up skimming a great deal of it. I have read and enjoyed a couple of the other Deep Ops books and had high hopes when I saw this one.
I found the plot became increasingly far-fetched as it went on - an ex MI6 member now university lecturer who had been undercover as a uni lecturer but now left MI6 to really become a uni lecturer, happens to meet a woman on the run from her ex-fiance who is masquereading as a uni lecturer. Despite never having taught before. And then his brother is a killer who is chasing him. There's a mugging, and Jethro unleashes some whoop-arse action on the attackers, and then the team swoops in to protect Gemma and Trudy (who is 3 but at times sounds about 18 months, and at others sounds 10). It was incredibly frustrating, and I just couldn't get into it, or the sense there was any reciprocated passion.
Thanks to the publisher for approving this request. I'm sorry I didn't enjoy it more.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ out of 5
I was pretty devastated when I thought this series was over because RZ knows how to write some excellent romantic suspense, so when this book was announced I was over the moon! This book definitely didn’t disappoint.
Our heroine is hiding out trying to keep herself and her daughter safe having changed her name but trying to live her life as a university professor. She has no time for men or love but a British professor at the university has his sights on her (if only she will give him the time of day). Both of them have pasts that are catching up to them so will they both be able to outrun them, and are they safer together or alone?
I love how this book just feels like one big family with the previous couples from the series always being so welcome to the new couples, it feels like a giant hug. I won’t lie- some of the plot points I found a little predictable but overall it was such a wild ride and it kept me on the edge of my seat. It blended plot, character development and steam seamlessly! Cannot wait for more!
This was another great Rebecca Zanetti book. I thought it was well-written and had a great plot. The characters were interesting and well-developed. I look forward to more from this author!
Unforgiven is book five in the Deep Ops series however I read this as a standalone. Whilst previous relationships and couples were obvious throughout, I never felt like I was missing out on anything. I'm actually going to read the whole series when I have time because I really enjoyed this book - it gave Maya Banks/Cynthia Eden vibes and it's been a while since I've read this type of romantic suspense.
Gemma is a single mother to her three-year-old, Trudy, and has been running for years. Knowing what her violent ex-fiancé is capable of, Gemma will continue to run and protect her family until it's finally safe to settle down - if it's ever safe. Jethro has just as much baggage - a serial killer brother who's trying to frame him for murder. Gemma and Jethro meet at D.C University where they both work - Jethro is a charming Brit and Gemma is a single mother keeping under the radar, but as her friendship blooms with Jethro, Gemma find's herself on the radar of a serial killer and her past finally catches up with her.
For me, a romantic suspense isn't the same without the sense of community within the book. Unforgiven was loaded with a group of friends who pulled together in Jethro's time of need - people who would do anything and sacrifice everything to ensure their friend's safety, and it was done perfectly. The romance wasn't at centre stage but the plot, suspense and deep ops crew made up for that. The English dialect was done well - as a Brit I often cringe at the movie-like, unrealistic dialect but in Unforgiven, it was really well written!
Overall, Unforgiven was a brilliant read. If you love family orientated books, single mother's and suspense then you will love this.
I didn’t know when I picked up the book that it was part of a series. I plan to pick up the first few books in the series and then come back to this book.
I loved this book. Gave me an in site on Gemma and Him. He trying to catch his brother who he thought was dead. Gemma is on the run.
