If you like romantic suspense, the Depop series by Rebecca Zanetti is always a go to series for me. This is the latest book in the series and it does not disappoint. We finally get Jethro, our favorite British hero‘s, story. He is set up as a philosophy professor at a university and meets Gemma who he finds out later is on the run. The chemistry is instant between Gemma and Jethro and the story itself keeps you on the edge of your seat. This is a fantastic suspense novel with a wonderful romance.

This was everything I hoped it would be. 007 but better. He was flawed. He was real. He was a bada$$ with a sociopathic brother. He found a family in more ways than one.

Gemma was a great heroine. She was on the run. Scared for her life and that of her daughters. But she fell in with this band of kinda crazy operatives and found her confidence.

They were great together and Trudy, Ian, Oliver, and Wolfe really stole the scene when they were present. I loved it.

Thank you Kensington and Lyrical Press for approving my ARC!! Woohoo

The first book in this series is so good, but it feels like the deeper we get into these books, the worse it gets. If you squint, I think the pieces of the plot mostly come together, but it is... tenuous. It just doesn't make a ton of sense!

Gemma is on the run from her abusive ex-fiance with the daughter he doesn't know they have in tow. Somehow, she's able to step into a friend's job at a university teaching game theory, et cetera, when this friend (who's linked to the Deep Ops team) has to leave town for a bit. How? How does this work? How is she passing background and qualification checks with her string of fake names? Jethro is former MI6 and has a serial killer brother who is also former MI6 and also somehow they're both the children of a duke? This is mentioned once and never brought up again. Who's duke-ing if Jethro and his brother are both in the US? And the brother's reasons for targeting Jethro are just bonkers.

I don't know. I think I had too many questions about what was going on here to really enjoy the book. It's a shame that I've grown less and less interested in this series, because it started off so interestingly.

Fast moving suspense at its best. The last thing Emma needs while she is hiding away from her stalker is attention. But attention she has from the handsome professor with the sexy English accent. They've barely made a connection when their two worlds collide, and all hell breaks loose.
Jethro's sociopathic twin escapes from prison and arrives in the US hell bent on seeking revenge. He targets Emma as Jethro's chink in the armor, and it is chilling how Fletcher stalks Emma and how close he comes to Emma and her young daughter. At the same time, he turns the wolves lose on Emma by informing her stalker boyfriend where to find her.
Now all bets are off as Jethro and a couple of his buddies from MI6 figure out how to trap and capture Fletcher while keeping Emma safe. Jethro has assisted with the Deep Ops team on prior cases and despite all his wishes to the contrary they jump in to help him with his quest on both fronts. The body count keeps adding up and for a while it looks like Fletcher is definitely winning but the folks at Deep Ops and the Mi6 are definitely no slouches and manage a respectable finish.
The suspense, the romance, the chemistry and the emotional connection to the characters is strong and makes this an excellent entry into this series.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

I absolutely love this Deep Ops series and am always so excited when a new book comes out, and I have not yet been disappointed in any of the books. I love that they truly are a team and look out for each other and we see previous characters throughout the book. They support and care for each team member - even Jethro who doesn't feel like he is part of their team.

Jethro meets Gemma who is working part time at the same university teaching. They both have so many secrets that they keep secret and they are deadly secrets. Jethro has a psycho brother is a contract killer and Gemma has an abusive ex that she has spent several years hiding from him.

There are not enough words to say how much I enjoyed this book and just could not put it down as I had to see how they were able to get out of this mess alive! So much action, romance, great friends, and teamwork add up to a really superb book!

I didn't realize when I start this book that it was in the Deep Ops series, which I loved. I was so happy for the surprise once favorite characters started popping their heads in.
Rebecca writes a fantastic romantic suspense. A great balance of the romance with the suspense and intrigue. It was a real page turner and of course, when it ended, I just wanted more.

This is a well written book, but it was just too dark of a read for me. If you are a fan of dark romantic thrillers, you will probably like this book, it just wasn't for me.
I received a complimentary copy from Kensington Books via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

This is book 5 in the Deep Ops series and I would absolutely read the previous books before reading this one, or at least the last few as it introduces this character in them. I'm so excited that we get Jethro's story!! Gemma is on the run from a stalker. She has been using her game theory in order to stay one step ahead of him. But when she goes to teach at a university, she is hoping that she and her daughter can stay safe there for a little longer. Jethro knows he has blood on his hands. And even though he works as a professor now, he believes that his work with Deep Ops and for his Queen and country have put him beyond forgiveness. But when he meets Gemma, he thinks he may be able to not only help her but maybe have a sort of happiness for himself. Until he finds out that there is a threat coming, and he may have to face what's inside himself sooner than expected.

I absolutely loved this story!! I was beyond curious wanting to know more about Jethro after seeing him previously, but this was way more than I ever expected!! And I loved every second of it! He is the type of man that every woman wants! Alpha, protective but with this sweet and caring side that you fall in love with! The way he is with not only Gemma but her daughter? I loved him! Gemma is such a strong woman who definitely has this spine of steel. She may get knocked down but she always gets back up and keeps trying, no matter what! Her and Jethro's chemistry is off the charts but more than that, the suspense part of this story just gripped me right from the start! I loved it all and didn't want it to end all while needing to know that ending! Now I need to know more about another certain professor!

UNFORGIVEN is a super fast-paced read with so many twists and turns that you will be holding on for dear life. A number of sweet moments, with a lot of steamy ones, action, danger, and family doing what family should do fills the pages of UNFORGIVEN and make you wish it wouldn't end so quickly! Another extremely well-written, great escape read!

Gemma Falls is on the run from an abusive ex with her daughter. Hopefully her temporary position at the Washington D.C. university will enable her to earn some money before she is once again on the run.
Professor Jethro Hanson is an ex-M16 operative and trying to establish a new life. His encounters with Gemma make him wonder why she is so skittish. When someone from Jethro's past starts framing him for murder, Gemma is also impacted.
The Deep Ops team moves in to help catch the culprit while keeping Gemma and her daughter safe.
Fast moving story - fifth in a series - can be read as a stand alone.

The last book in this series, Driven, was almost a year and a half ago. At that time, I said it could be the natural conclusion to the series but I had hoped for more. I’m so glad we got more!

Jethro has been helping the Deep Ops team for a bit, but remained “other” due to him being a college professor and not part of the US Government agency the rest of the crew work for. I’ve always loved Jethro and I was so happy that he was getting his story.

Gemma has been on the run from her ex-fiancé since she was pregnant with her now 3-year-old daughter. She ends up at Jethro’s university teaching in the same department and sparks fly right away. With Jethro’s MI6 training he is aware from the beginning that there is something Gemma is hiding. That doesn’t stop him from wanting to get to know her and her daughter better. Jethro is not quite sure what family means, though. His is quite screwed up and he has kept a sort of distance from everyone to keep them safe from his family.

Well, the Deep Ops team has a hard time with being told no. Especially when it’s one of their own. The more Jethro tries to push them away, they more the rally around him. When Gemma gets pulled into danger, partly because of Jethro, the team also rallies around her and her daughter Trudy. Jethro and Gemma both start to learn that family can be made and it can be wonderful.

Besides the great connection Gemma and Jethro have, I enjoyed getting to know some new characters from Jethro’s past. Plus, it’s always so much fun to visit with Wolfe. I always forget just how much he makes me laugh. And Wolfe has decided that he, and he alone, is Jethro’s best friend. It’s sweet and hilarious and intense.

This story seems like it’s a bridge from the original concept of this series to the new adventures that will face this crazy group of people. More questions were raised, more characters were added, and the addition of Trudy has really shown us how mushy some of these tough guys can be.

Unforgiven was just the mix of intense drama and intriguing love story that you've come to expect from Rebecca Zanetti. Jethro is a bit of an enigma. Appearing initially to be the consummate buttoned down British professor it's not long until his past as an intelligence agent comes into play. Gemma's in so much danger. Though it's hard to tell which one of them is in more danger. Both are running from killers. Jethro from his brother, Gemma her daughter's father.

Loaded with life-or-death experiences these two are quickly forced to work together and to seek the help of the team that's adopted Jethro. What a cast of characters they are. I hadn't read the previous stories, it wasn't at all a hinderance to my enjoyment of this book, but man the other books in this series must be fascinating as we delve into these people's lives. With no less than the best the intelligence community has to offer, the peril is still too real, too close and far too personal. It's takes quite a lot of time and effort to track down the men out to get Gemma and Jethro. Add a killer snow storm to the mix, a near fatal explosion and the reader is on the edge of their seats, figuratively.

Zanetti does a fabulous job of creating an incredibly intense story and wrapping the relationship between Jet and Gemma is in a very believable way. Too often these types of books don't do that and you're left wondering who these people fall for each other so fast in the middle of so much chaos.

Jethro may be a tough killer but he's so awesome with Gemma and her daughter, Trudy. You know a guy's a keeper when your daughter picks him for her dad, right? Roscoe the dog, though borrowed, was so sweet with Trudy and added a lot to making Jethro even more likable and approachable.

Overall this book was a very enjoyable way to spend a few hours.

Thanks to NetGalley and the author for the ARC.

God I love Rebecca Zanetti. Her writing just speaks to me...... and it says "buy all my books because they are awesome" lol. I haven't read a book of Rebecca's yet that I didn't love. She is a auto buy for me. I first fell in love with Rebecca's writing when I read her Dark Protector series( which is one of my all time favorites), if you haven't read that series and love Paranormal romance check it out it's sooooo Good. Every series after DP that I have read were great. I love them all but, Deep ops holds a special place in my heart. I just fell in love with this ragtag group of badasses. Wolfe has always been my favorite, but Jethro is a close second.
Jethro is everything you could want in a man. Sexy, alpha, badass, British, smart, caring, and loyal. I loved getting to know him, and his background more. Gemma was amazing too. I love how brave she was. She was smart, a fighter, and protective of her daughter. Trudy was adorable. my ovaries exploded every time one of the big, strong, badass warrior let Trudy wrap them around her tiny finger. I love that Jethro and Gemma took their time got to know each other and built trust before they went deep with each other. They made a sexy couple and a sweet little family.
Wolfe! Omg Wolfe was cracking me up all through the book, and with him being Jethro's best friend he was in the book a lot. I can't wait to see Wolfe become a daddy. Sexy British twins Oliver and Ian were new to the series and can I just say they fit right in. I really hope Rebecca writes stories for them too. It was fun getting to visit with all the past couples and of course Roscoe. Sexy Lawyer Scott was in this book and I felt some sparks between him and a little Deep Ops Blond. This book was action packed, funny, sweet and sexy I can't wait for the next book in the series!

The Deep Ops series is my favorite series that Ms. Zanetti writes. I love the characters and at the moment Jethro and Gemma are my absolute favorite couple. This story had it all….a woman with her daughter, Trudy, running from her husband. An true 007 Brit with the Deep Ops group who falls for Gemma and her daughter, and along the way a killer who just happens to be family. What a wild ride! This book kept me reading far into the night as it was truly unput downable. Loved all the characters and how they all support each other. A really great group of operatives and I have loved each book in this series.

The newest addition to this amazing series is just as amazing as the rest! Jethro & Gemma are electric together. Their journey together is full of twist, turns & an amazing villain. I think he is one of the better villains in this series. As usual the gang is all here & working to solve the problem. The new cast is amazing & I hope we see more of them. I cannot wait for another book in this series!!!!

Unforgiven by Rebecca Zanetti is the fifth book in the Deep Ops series. Jethro Hanson is trying to rebuild his life in the US by pondering good vs. evil instead of fighting it. He doesn’t expect the visiting professor Gemma Falls to immediately entrance him but he finds himself trying to help her in any way he can even when she fights him every step of the way. Unfortunately Jethro’s past is catching up with him and causes a collision course between his and Gemma’s life. While trying to protect her daughter and her newest location from her dangerous ex, Gemma can’t help but fall for the dashing Brit and his collection of dangerous yet protective family members. With the past closing in on both of them Gemma and Jethro are forced to decide if they run or if they fight for a new future together.

Jethro Hanson is a super spy warrior hiding beneath his uptight professor exterior. He finds himself shocked at his immediate and overwhelming need to protect Gemma and Trudy even at the expense of his own safety. He is surrounded by his found family of the past when the twins come to town to help and his deep ops family, especially his unexpected best friend Wolfe. The past is rearing its ugly head and the only way Jethro can find safety again is to put it down for good. He struggles with the violence he saw and administered in the past but finds solace that Gemma, Trudy and the rest of his family is able to see the man he is now beyond the danger and secrets.

Gemma Falls has been running for years to protect her daughter from the violence she endured at the hands of her ex. She only stays for short periods of time anywhere but wants to try at DC University, standing in for Serena. She fights Jethro from the start because she knows there’s more to him than meets the eye and is wary from past experiences. When she finally lets him into her life, the security and comfort he brings with his family is more than she ever expected to have. She has not allowed herself to even consider a romantic relationship but Jethro proves to be exactly what she needed.

The Deep Ops family has their work cut out for them with both Jethro and Gemma’s pasts coming back to try and ruin their futures. I will not go into too much detail about both pasts because seeing them unveil keeps the action and intensity up. This story is exactly what I’ve come to expect from Zanetti’s suspenseful romances.

4 stars for Jethro and Gemma putting the past to rest for a future together.
