Unforgiven by Rebecca Zanetti is book 5 in the Deep Ops series and again is another page turner from a one click author! The book centres on Jethro and Gemma. Gemma is on the run from a deadly stalker which takes her to working at a new job as a professor at D.C. University. There she meets Jethro who also works at the University but who is suspicious of the aloof Gemma from the get-go. Both of them are keeping secrets with lots of things the are hiding, but soon a slow starting friendship becomes more, even when both of them are flung into danger, and they figure out that the danger is closer to home than they think!

This was another fast paced read with lots of suspense and twist and turns which are going to keep you on the edge of your seat! Two wonderful characters which work really well together. I can’t wait to read more from this series and get to know some of the other characters!

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊

I loved this book. The characters were amazing. They were so well written they really came to life for me. The book itself was perfect, characters, plot and pace Ann came together to make this a hell of a read. I couldn’t put it down. The suspense kept me turning pages until the wee hours of the morning. My heart was pounding the whole time. Suspense, love and terror … this one has it all. Simply must read.

Unforgiven (Deep Ops #5) by Rebecca Zanetti
Five stars is not enough - I love this series - even if I have to close my eyes sometimes while I'm reading. I was on the edge of my seat almost the whole time. Gemma and Jethro were fantastic h and H. Gemma's daughter Trudy was precious. We catch up with the team and a few new friends, there is terror, evil, angst, suspense, some tears, lots of humor and steam to get us to their HEA. This book can be read as a stand-alone - but I strongly suggest you read the series - you won't be sorry.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Haunting Funny Happily Ever After Twisted Entertaining Tragic Steamy Unpredictable Wonderful characters Action-packed Romantic Scary Easy-to-read Page-turner

Unforgiven is a suspenseful thriller with so many twists and turns! With multiple threats invading the lives of Gemma and Jethro, this book keeps you wondering how it will all end. In the midst of the action, Ms. Zannetti provides great character development, wonderful friends, a cute-as-can-be daughter and a beloved, albeit alcoholic dog!

This is a fast paced, unpredictable book that will get your heart pumping. You won't want to put it down at night, either because you're so scared for the characters or simply because you just need to see what happens next!

Another well written book! I thoroughly enjoyed this story!!!❤️❤️❤️ Jethro and Gemma were perfect. The suspense was crazy, the other characters coming in from previous books, was absolutely wonderful and terrific!!!
Is there a budding romance possibly between Millie and Scott?? What has Millie on HDD's radar?
I could not put it down! Read it in one sitting. I am never, ever, ever, disappointed when it comes to Ms Zanetti's books. It was full of suspense, full of hard hitting action, great sex scenes and I loved it all!!! I cannot wait For more books in this series, especially with Ian and Oliver...and what is going on with Serena??? Where is she? So many more clues and mysteries to unfold...please don't disappoint us, Lol.

P.S. What about Agent Rutherford? Can we remove the stick up his butt and find him a love interest that's compatible? Only time will tell...

Unforgiven is book 5 of the Deep Ops series by Rebecca Zanetti. It’s a standalone romantic suspense. Dual POV with a happy ending.

Tropes:
➵British professor with a secret past
➵tortured hero
➵insta-lovey
➵slow burn
➵on the run single mother

For almost four years Gemma has been on the run protecting her young daughter and herself from her abusive ex-fiancé. Hoping to save enough money to keep running, she’s arranged to teach at D.C. University for the next few months. She just never expected a handsome British philosophy professor and his dangerous s could derail her plans so thoroughly.

Former MI6 agent Jethro Hanson has been trying to find redemption. But when his past comes back to haunt and threaten Gemma, all bets are off, because he’ll stop at nothing to protect her and her daughter.

I feel like I keep saying the same thing with each of the Deep Ops books “I’ve been waiting to read this to that character’s book from the moment I met them.” But it’s the honest truth. I’ve been wanting to know more about the mysterious professor with the sexy accent ever since he appeared in the series.

This story is fast paced and exciting, full of thrilling moments (imagine movie scene explosions), humor and touching moments (envision the cutest kid with a loving dog and a great set of friends who back you up like family) and of course, sexy romance.

I will also not tire of mentioning how much I adore Wolfe and Roscoe, those two just steal the show every time they’re in a scene. I really liked the new additions to the team as can’t wait to read the next instalment in the series.

Unforgiven is a stomach twisting, lip biting, thrilling suspenseful and ultra-amazing addition in Rebecca Zanetti's fan favorite Deep Ops series!

From the moment I started Unforgiven, I was entranced by the newest Deep Ops story. Gemma and Jethro are officially my new favorite couple in the series! Jethro has been on my mind for a long while now and I was giddy to finally read his story. He is a sexy, protective and respectful man that has so much sizzling sex appeal and the way he acts with Gemma just makes my heart sigh. And Gemma is such a great mom and a wonderful heroine, and her daughter is absolutely precious! This story is everything fun, sexy, exciting and just all over GOOD! I can't wait to reread this again!

Unforgiven gets a SUPER AMAZING FIVE ACTION PACKED STARS!

Jethro is a college teacher, and was asked by the friend h was replacing, to take care of h and help her with anything. He’s closed off because of his former profession (in the MI6), and his family experiences. He was kind of a j3rk and judgemental with Gemma without knowing her or anything about her life.

Gemma’s been in the run from her ex for years, just to protect her daughter from that monster (when she left, the ex didn’t know she was pregnant). She’s closed off, lying about her life and her appearance (she wears contacts and wigs), and doesn’t trust anyone.

The murders start and there’s evidence that points to Jethro being the killer. Someone’s trying to frame him, someone from his past.

There’s mystery, action, romance and really cute and funny moments. We get to see couples from previous books. And all those big, bada$$, alpha men melting around a little girl!!

I didn’t think I would like H as much as I did, mostly because of him being a manwh0re. As the story advanced, I started liking and understanding him more and more, he really redeemed himself, and was all in with h when before her he was a ONS guy. And Jethro with Trudy was adorable!

Safety Squad: no OP drama, no scenes with others. Only thing is that the same evening, after he met her, he went and “spent the night with a lady friend“ (that he’s not going to call or see again), but at that moment they didn’t even like each other, and it’s only mentioned like that.

All I can say is that I love this series & Unforgiven was no exception!! We finally get Jethro’s story!! Jethro Hanson meets Gemma Falls who’s filling in for another Professor & friend of his. She’s on the run with her adorable daughter Trudy from her abusive ex. Meanwhile, his crazy, psycho path brother escapes from prison. Jethro is attracted to Gemma but knows she’s hiding something. He befriends her & starts gaining her trust while trying to find his brother. He then tries to stay away from her to keep her out of danger until he finds out his brother has targeted Gemma. There’s action, suspense, danger, excitement, the usual humor & funny moments with all the Deep Ops characters that you know & love including my two favorites Roscoe & Wolfe! We’re also introduced to two new characters, friends of Jethro’s. Definitely looking forward to learning more about them in future books & seeing how they fit in with this crazy, dysfunctional group of friends that became their own family. You need to read this book & series if you haven’t read any of them yet!! I received an arc from Netgalley and the publisher for an honest review.

I love this series especially Roscoe he is such a character. Jethro has always tried to sort out everything himself but his old team is going to allow him to do this himself. Just when he thought that his life was going okay his insane brother Fletcher is back in the States and he wants nothing better than to make Jethro pay.
This time Jethro has someone that he cares about and he has to try & keep Gemma and her daughter Trudy away from Fletcher. But can he beat him at his own twisted games?
Gemma knew that getting involved with Jethro would come with risks but she also has to worry about her past coming to take her daughter away. Can she let the team help her win her freedom?
The team is back and most of them have had changes in their lives and all the want is for Jethro to have what they have. Can they all figure out a way to stop Fletcher for good?
Another read read in the series. I love seeing the old team working together and leaving no stone untouched. What I liked about Jethro & Gemma's story is how they fit together they both have pasts but they never push more than the other one is willing to give. They deserve their happiness and to be part of a big family.
Thank you Netgalley & the publisher for an ARC copy. This is my voluntary review.

Ms. Zanetti has done it again. Jethro feels like a cross between Gibbs and Duckie, and then there's Gemma. The story, action and romance will keep you on your toes. You won't be able to put the book down. Though a part of the Dark Opps series, it can be read as a stand alone. But why limit yourself!.

Unforgiven is another exciting installment of Rebecca Zanetti’s Dark Opps series. This romantic suspense story is great, with plenty of romance and humor to balance the ongoing tension of the story.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Jethro, former MI6 operative, is a member of the secretive Dark Opps team, which handles off the record investigations for the US government. His day job is as a university game theory professor, which is where he meets Gemma. Gemma is working as a visiting professor, but is also on the run from her abusive ex. She will do anything to protect her young daughter, even if it means not following through on her immediate attraction to Jethro. But, once a killer realizes she’s important to Jethro, her life is in danger.

No one can make the reader feel tension and the damp chill of winter like Zanetti. She is an expert at creating suspense within the confines of the story that highlights found family and secretive pasts. Jethro and Gemma are intriguing characters, and each has different reasons for keeping their own secrets. And, it is always a pleasure to spend more time with the entire Dark Opps team, especially doggo extraordinaire Roscoe. They truly are a family who will do anything for each other, and watching Jethro realize he is actually one of them is a delight.

Unforgiven is romantic suspense at its best. I hope Zanetti has more stories ahead for the Dark Opps team, since I’d love to spend more time with them.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It was nice to catch up with this team again. I liked the hero and heroine and wish they had more time developing a relationship. I didnt think the heroine needed her backstory because the hero was dealing with enough craziness.

4.5*
Wow what to say about this book? There’s so much suspense with twists and turns that I didn’t even begin to guess. I love that Jethro got the HEA that he deserves, Gemma and Trudy! I also like the new characters Ian and Oliver that have been added to the Deep Ops family and a family they are even if it took Jethro most of the hook to finally are that.
Trudy was a joy and so freaking cute!
Please read this series and in order.

Wow! Just Wow! I started with page one and read straight through in one sitting. Minus the bathroom breaks :) I read just about everything Rebecca Zanetti writes, all her different genres. I forgot how much I loved the Deep Ops series, the misfit crew, the booze loving dog the issues they each have and deal with. all helping them to become a family. This book delivers on all those accounts and more. In this one we have Gemma Falls, a single parent on the run from an abusive relationship. Jethro Hanson, a professor and previous M6 and Deep Ops member, although he tells you he isn't. There is murder, grizzly murder, there his humor, and best friend, Wolfe. Wolfe and Roscoe provided a lot of the levity and the heart warming moments. We meet a set of twins that make me ever hopeful they might have a story coming. I have a huge TBR pile, but this makes me want to go back and read the previous ones all over again. Snark, humor, steam, suspense and family. Love! Thank your for the arc #KensingtonBooks#lyricalpress#Netgalley#RebeccaZanetti I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.

4 stars - It was really good

For three years, Gemma Falls has been on the run from her abusive ex. While teaching at D.C. University, she finds herself unexpectedly attracted to a fellow professor, Jethro Hanson. Jethro is more than he seems though and both of their past finally catch up to them.

I am so happy that Zanetti decided to write more Deep Ops books because I really love this group. Jethro was introduced in the previous books while helping Angus capture a serial killer. He is smart but also very deadly. We finally get to learn about his past as a M16 agent and his tragic family lie. I really liked Jethro. He was protective, smart, and extremely compassionate and kind. I adored how he instantly fell in love with Trudy, even when he didn’t know what to do with a child.

Gemma is a very strong woman. She went through a horrible situation with her ex and has spent the past three years on the run. She is battered and bruised emotionally but is always determined to keep her daughter safe. I loved how strong this woman was, especially in trusting Jethro and the Deep Ops game with her and her daughter's life.

This was a very good blend of suspense, romance, and action. I really loved seeing the Deeps Ops family take care of their own and embrace new members. Wolfe is still my favorite and I loved how he instantly adopts everyone he likes into his family. We also meet some of Jethro’s M16 friends, Owen and Ian, who were great side characters and great friends. I do hope we see more of them in the future because I want to know more about them now.

Overall, this was a wonderful addition to this series. I loved Jethro and Gemma’s story. They really found the perfect family in the Deep Ops group. Also I really hope we get at least one more book because I want to see Wolfe as a father!

Trigger warnings: Both had abusive mothers. Gemma’s mother is also an alcoholic. Domestic violence, death, violence.

This is the first book in the Deep Ops series that I have read.
It was so good! Now I have to go back and read the rest of the series.
Unforgiven is Gemma & Jethro's story.
Gemma is on the run with her adorable daughter Trudy
Jethro is trying to move on with his life and get away from his past
They meet while both teaching at a University and get off to a frosty start
The secondary characters were great in this book!
The chemistry between Jethro & Gemma was great. And he was so sweet with Trudy.
Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down. It was was full of lots of suspense, and was a little bit steamy.
I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes a good romantic suspense novel.

I received an ARC copy of Unforgiven from Net Galley in exchange for my honest review.

Jethro has left his career of high adrenaline and violence behind to play in the ivory tower of academia - unfortunately for him there is a mysterious new professor with a past of her own. Gemma is just trying to survive - and protect her daughter. A hot Brit is just a complication that she neither wants nor needs.

Despite this being super fast paced it was a bit slower for me to get in to. I liked Gemma and I understood her fears and her survival instincts. I didn’t understand Jethro as fast. I did love their mutual competence kink and the way that Jet never spoke for Gemma. He might have wanted to - but didn’t. I also loved seeing some of the former team members and their crazy found family. The villain(s) are pretty dark though so please watch the CWs, friends.

Stars: four stars
Series: Deep Ops (can be read as a standalone but might be lost with the side characters)
POV: dual third
Steam: gets a bit steamy but not graphic and no kink
Tropes: single mom, forced proximity, on the run, stop the killer
For Fans Of: Rescuing Emily by Susan Stoker
Theme Song: Better Man by Pearl Jam
Subgenre: contemporary/ romantic suspense
CW/ TW: references to domestic violence (to the heroine not by the hero), violence bloodshed on the page, serial killer/ contract killer on the page
