This is such a useful guide while reading Fire keeper's Daughter.
I loved the printable bookmarks and the author interview.
The book club discussion guide is perfect to understand the book better and helps the reader to discover the full potential of the book.
The list of recommended reads is helpful and I've added a few to my TBR.
I highly recommend this guide.
Amazing book! Very easy to connect with the story and also very thrilling from start to finish. The plot twists were also very fun, and there was a lot of representation.
Such a cool kit! I loved the author interviews and the printable bookmarks 😍. If you’ve read firekeeper’s daughter and liked it there are also great suggestions of books to read that are similar.
I really appreciate all the background information in this kit, as well as the other recommended reads. It makes it really easy to find something a patron might like.
Great resources to use with books for book clubs - love all the pieces required to host a book club - makes for in-depth analysis of the book in question
My Book Club read "Firekeeper's Daughter" last month and I had pre-downloaded this Book Club Kit - I sent it to everyone in advance so they could read the author interview and other resources, and we went through the list of discussion questions as a group. Everyone agreed that the questions really enhanced our discussion.
I recently started a bookclub so i was delighted to see a kit for the Firekeeper's Daughter. It contains some great discussion questions and the indigenous reading suggestions were a great addition. My favorite part was the author interview. The questions asked were so on point and relevant. Really enjoyed this kit.
This is a great resource, with insightful questions for discussion,or even for you to think about and engage with a book more deeply. Interesting information as well.
LOVED THIS SO MUCH! It was very nice to have the kit while reading the book, it increased the experience of getting yourself immersed in the story and was easy to use and print.
An awesome kit that any educator/librarian can use to help their book clubs facilitate discussions etc.
Great Book Club Kit! I recommend getting it if you are doing a book club. I used some of the resources for Battle of the Books as this title was among those this year.
This is a good resource for educators. As someone who runs book clubs for kids, including a teen group which reads YA novels, the information in this book club kit offered more than many offer: Many "book club kits" simply provide 1o-12 questions that could have been added as possible discussion starters at the end of the book. This goes beyond that to include additional facts about the author, information about the book, suggested reads, organizations, and resources.
I cannot wait to use this with my book club! We just finished reading Firekeeper's Daughter for our book of the month, and on a whim I decided to check and see if there was a book club kit for it. BINGO! I'm so excited to talk through all of these discussion questions with my club, and I loved all of the recommendations and resources included in the kit as well. The pretty printable bookmark is an added bonus.
this was an excellent book club kit! loved these questions and they were great to discuss with my book club.
This is a great collection of questions for book club or for the lone reader who would like to put more thought into the book's meaning.
Great resource for book clubs to use alongside the book! The interview with the author is wonderful and the questions really help you connect with the book on a deeper level. Thank you NetGalley for this Book club kit!
ADMISSION: I haven't read Firekeeper's Daughter - SORRY ANGELINE BOULLEY (don't hate me, I'll redeem myself further down) -yes, I know this was not created by the author...but still!
I chose this kit for a few different reasons, none of which were for its intended purpose (I know, I know...I'm THE WORST)- BUT this is the coolest kit I've opened so far and I'm only halfway through the letter from the author.
What's included that I think is pretty rad:
- fun and interesting facts about the author that pertain to the story
- a content/trigger warning section
- mini-view with Angeline on the creation and publishing of the book and cover art, and why certain themes were incorporated in
- printable, color and cover matching bookmarks with quotes! (we can't ever have enough bookmarks for all those TBR books that we will NEVER EVER FINISH)
- WHAT TO READ NEXT (FEAT. INDIGENOUS AUTHORS)....ya'll THIS IS THE BOMB.COM! Kudos and so much love for giving a massive shout-out to other books by Indigenous authors and recommending that readers pick them up. In the age of me-me-me, it's refreshing to see.
- A list of organizations to support Indigenous communities, what they do and link to their website
- Additional resources to assist readers who are facing any struggles that they'll encounter while reading Firekeeper's Daughter - FREE, and with 24/7 AVAILABILITY!!!
Ok,, so basically all of it was pretty rad - and the best part? I've now decided to read this BECAUSE of the kit
A brilliant resource for book clubs! This kit really does justice to Firekeeper’s Daughter with the variety of great content provided here, conveniently and cohesively designed and formatted.
Excellent resource! We will be using this next school year as this book is one of our State Recommended titles that we use in book club. Thank you for the great kit!
I love this book! All the characters feel so fleshed out and real to me. I was engaged from page 1 to the end and the book never got boring (which I love). There was always something that made my brain go 100 miles a minute and I was constantly trying to figure out what the conclusion to this book would be. Overall, I loved a lot about this book, it's cover and contents. I was also lucky enough to buy a signed copy with sprayed edges which is absolutely gorgeous and a perfect addition to my shelves.
