This book was good. The pacing was fine and the plot was interesting. I found myself wanting to see a little bit more chemistry between the two main characters and the miscommunication trope, while it worked for a bit, started to get a little old towards the end of the book. I just wanted them to finally find a way to get to be together like we knew they would.
As a bookstagrammer, lemme tell you I loved the title and premise.
I didn't want this story to end. I can relate to the MC so much as a to-do list kinda gal! I loved the development of the relationship and the character progression in this book, plus it's just a fun story!
The cover immediately drew me in, and I'm glad it did because this book was FIRE. It read like a Hallmark movie but OMG it was perfect.
Cheesy and a little boring. A bit too predictable for my taste but it was an easy ready. Perfect if you are in a book slump.

"Booked On A Feeling" by Jayci Lee invites readers into the life of Lizzy "Overachiever" Chung, Esq., a high-powered lawyer experiencing a pivotal moment in her career. Following an unexpected panic attack, Lizzy finds herself in the small town of Weldon, where childhood friend Jack Park becomes an unexpected source of comfort and connection.
The novel unfolds as Lizzy grapples with burnout and reconnects with Jack, who harbors a decades-long crush. Lee's storytelling captures the essence of a Hallmark movie, offering a comforting and feel-good narrative that explores the complexities of friendship and romance.
The charm of "Booked On A Feeling" lies in its simplicity, reminiscent of the heartwarming atmosphere often found in Hallmark productions. The plot follows a familiar trajectory, offering a predictable yet enjoyable journey. The small-town setting adds a touch of nostalgia and warmth, creating a backdrop that complements the unfolding romance.
The characters, while not deeply complex, are relatable and endearing. Lizzy's journey of self-discovery and the blossoming romance with Jack provide a light and entertaining reading experience. The inclusion of the bookstore revamp subplot adds a charming layer to the narrative, emphasizing themes of revitalization and second chances.
While "Booked On A Feeling" may not stand out as the most exceptional romantic comedy, its inherent cuteness and quick pacing contribute to its overall appeal. The book succeeds in delivering a lighthearted escape, perfect for those seeking a comforting read akin to a Hallmark movie marathon.
In conclusion, Jayci Lee's "Booked On A Feeling" is a cute and feel-good romantic comedy that aligns with the spirit of Hallmark productions. While it may not redefine the genre, its charm, likable characters, and breezy narrative make it a delightful read. I gave it a rating of 3 out of 5 stars, acknowledging its ability to provide an enjoyable and quick escape into the world of heartwarming romance.
Very Hallmark movie to me! I couldn't get enough of the "girl goes to the big city only to have an event make her realize the importance of her hometown" vibe/storyline, and when you mix in a little love story--chef's kiss. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for a copy of this book for an honest review.
I did not like anything about this book, especially the ending. I was so bored the whole time. Lizzy first taking a vacation to Weldon, and then deciding that she wanted to live there, moving there, and then moving back to LA all within a couple of months just seemed so ridiculous. How much money does she have saved up??? That takes so much money, time and effort.
So cute!!!!!!!! I love a good bookish romance and this really did it for me. The characters are so adorable and I was rooting for them. Highly recommend.
This was a sweet romance that was great for the summer. However, it wasn't anything that stood out. It was a typical friend-to-lovers story that was heartwarming.
Thank you, netgalley for my copy of this book.
This was a sweet contemporary romance with likable characters. Friends to lovers, small town, this one was cute. Plus I love books about books and bookstores.
What I enjoyed most about this novel is the genuine and relatable characters. Lizzy's ambition and drive, combined with her vulnerability and self-doubt, make her a character that readers can easily root for. Jack, on the other hand, is the perfect balance of charming and down-to-earth, showcasing the beauty of small-town life. The chemistry between Lizzy and Jack is palpable, and it's a joy to witness their friendship develop into something more. Definitely a delightful and heartwarming read that will leave you with a smile on your face and a renewed belief in the power of love and second chances.
I love book themed books and I really hoped this would be an amazing romance centered around books as well.Unfortunately the execution felt a little flat for me. I had a very hard time getting into this book, wasn’t very intriguing for the most part but I’d say it was enjoyable at some points. Lizzy and Jack are best friends living a few hours apart. Lizzie is a lawyer on track to make partner who has just won her first trial. Jack works for his family’s business but dreams of seeing what else he could do with his skills with numbers and finances. Both of them have hidden attraction towards the other and like most friends to lovers no insight about how the other truly feels. I liked some of the interactions between Lizzy and Jack’s family. Both Lizzie and Jack had good potential as characters but I felt like Jack especially needed more fleshing out.
I actually discovered Jayci Lee on NetGalley upon the release of her book the Dating Dare so naturally I was ecstatic to read Booked on a Feeling. Lee’s writing never feels rushed yet it still packs a punch. The books is heartfelt and you really get to love Jack and how caring of a guy he is. I will always be the biggest fan of Jayci Lee and anything she releases in the future. This one sure surpassed the expectation for sure.
Cute romance that I started before realizing it was part of a series.
I love a good friends to lovers story, especially when the MCs go way back. There was something about the way Lizzy (an attorney) behaved that irked me and sometimes the romance felt too juvenile.
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s press for the advance copy.
I absolutely adored this book! I found myself smiling while reading. I highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
I wanted to love this book but it just dragged. I did love the love story it just was too long. Especially when you knew what was coming from chapter 1 (at least I know I did) The characters are super sweet and I loved how the story wrapped everything up perfectly. I just wish it got there quicker.
Friends to lovers set in a bookstore? Dreams really do come true!!!!! Jayci Lee is one of my comfort authors so I was excited for this! I had a little hard time connecting to the characters because of the third person POV but I was invested in the romance overall!
This was a sweet romance with the friends to lovers trope. It's a fast read and I loved the premise/Lizzy. She's a lawyer who hates conflict, does really well at her job, and is a bit burnt out. Jack is her friend from the small town who doesn't want to ruin their friendship. Overall, a cute, light read.

Booked on a Feeling is a charming best friends to lovers romance set against the backdrop of an adorable small town!
Let me start by saying that I have a lot of mixed feelings about this book.
I’ve read the other books in this series of standalones (A Sweet Mess series), and I recall feeling pretty “meh” after them all — enjoyable enough, but not something I’ll rave about. It may be that I don’t connect well with Jayci Lee’s writing.
Going into Booked on a Feeling, I thought I’d love Lizzy because I have some major things in common with her, including her legal work background, being a bookworm who has a dream of opening her own bookstore, and a friends to lovers romance reminiscent of hers. Whether it was how she was written or the situations she found herself in, I struggled to enjoy her character.
I did like the growth both Lizzy and Jack make, individually and in their relationship, although I could have done without the lack of or miscommunication that took up a lot of energy.
A couple of things I found myself loving were Jack’s family and the small town setting. Both were really sweet!
Overall, Booked on a Feeling is not a bad read. However, it did leave me wanting because I never truly felt captivated despite the promising premise.
