“”You are good enough for me”
“Never too good for you. But I know now that I am good enough for you, because no one knows you like I do. No one can ever love you as much as I do”.
Liz and Jack are the cutest! This best friends to lovers romance is so sweet and tackles issues of self worth and discovery. A perfectly bookish summer romance!
The writing style of this book just wasn't for me. I was too distracted by how cheesy the writing was to really be able to pay attention to the plot. However, for someone who is more focused on plot than writing style, this book could be fun.
I had a difficult time connecting to the characters in this story. I felt like Lizzy was all over the place personality-wise and I had a hard time empathizing and connecting with her.
This was a cute quick read. At times I felt the story went a little slower paced than needed but overall a book I would recommend to those that love a good rom-com.
This. Book.
The name was too cute, but I've been burned before. But this one was actually so sweet and wonderful. I'm so glad I read it.
This is how you write friends to lovers. This is a trope I've been reading a lot and I don't think it's an easy one to make believable. We need the right amount of build up and pining. They can't just suddenly decide they are in love.
In this book, Jack has been in love with Lizzy forever, but Lizzy has no clue. Even though all of Jack's family says it's obvious. Lizzy stays in town and spends more time with Jack and starts seeing him in a new light. She constantly questions whether it's just infatuation or real.
Jack is already worried it won't work out and they won't be able to go back to friends so he holds himself back at first. I thought both of their fears and feelings were realistic. They didn't want to jump into anything and ruin the friendship.
I loved the dual narration (as usual.) I love being in both of their heads and knowing what they are thinking.
I thought the ending was realistic and sweet. Love a good HEA!
I love a good contemporary romance.
The friends-to-lovers trope is one of my favorite and this whole book was spicy and swoon worthy. It started off a little slow, but I pushed through it and I'm glad that I did!
I recommend this. 100%. I don't want to give too much away but i enjoyed it A LOT.
4/5 this looks so good and i absolutely love the title and the mc seems super cool but yk got a lot going on so i can't read it rn best of luck x
This was a cute read!
I am a huge fan of friends to lovers tropes! This did a good job! It was a bit slow to start but picked up quickly when it did. I loved the burn and it definitely got spicy! Great story
Booked on a Feeling is such a wonderful contemporary romance! I loved the characters, the messages, and, of course, the swoon-worthy love story. Lizzie and Jack have a decades-long friendship. They know each other better than anyone else, though Jack has a secret. He’s loved Lizzie since they were kids, but he is afraid to tell her and lose their precious friendship.
When Lizzie takes a leave from work, she stays in Jack’s hometown to spend time with him and reevaluate her life. After all, he’s been her best friend since they were kids, and he has always been a great support to her. But when Lizzie realizes that her feelings for Jack have grown into more than friendship, they both have to decide what and who they want in their future.
I loved Lizzie and Jack’s friends-to-lovers romance! They have amazing chemistry, and the yearning, the angst, and the spice are all fantastic. It’s pretty obvious from the start that their feelings are more than friendly, but both are afraid to admit their feelings have changed because they don’t want to ruin what they already have.
In addition to their relationship woes, Lizzie and Jack are both going through personal and professional struggles, including changing careers, living up to family expectations, and more. I found their relationship and struggles really relatable. Lizzie, for example, doesn’t love her job and feels like she’s going through the motions because of the immense pressure her mother puts on her, and she’s at a breaking point. Helping at a local bookstore might just be the push she needs to live her truth.
Jack works in the family business and is content but not happy. However, he struggles to take the step and work elsewhere for fear of upsetting his family. Both characters have hard, life-changing decisions to make, and those are never easy. I find it interesting that Jack and Lizzie both fear upsetting their family but for different reasons. I think there are some great messages here about following your dreams and being true to yourself.
There are also some strong messages about family and acceptance, especially in Jack’s dynamic family. They are so supportive and welcoming, and they are very close. I love this tight-knit group but can see why Jack struggles so much to find his own path. His family stands in stark contrast to Lizzie’s family, who are distant and unsupportive. The food love is also on point, and there are so many scenes that made me hungry! From mouth-watering bakery cupcakes to delicious home-cooked meals, everything sounded delectable, and I would especially love to try some of Jack’s chili.
A heartwarming story about friendship, love, and following one’s dreams, Booked on a Feeling is a charming contemporary romance. Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advanced copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.
Cute story about two friends who realize their feelings are more than that! Love that the main characters are Korean and that some of their cultures are shared with readers. Quick, fast read.
Super cute, but a slow start. I had a hard time emphasizing with Lizzie. This isn't really a second chance romance, it's more friends to lovers--cute though. The characterization sometimes felt inconsistent. A decent beach read!
Thank you, NetGalley and St. Martins for this ARC.
At first, it was hard for me to get into this book but then I stuck it out and it actually turned out great. Lizzy and Jack's relationship were adorable throughout this novel. It was a childhood friends-to-lovers trope and the little nerdy details about them made me love it even more. I could definitely relate to Lizzy's problem with not wanting to disappoint her parents but also not putting herself first. This was a very cute and relatable book but nothing really stood out from the other romance books.

Lizzy and Jack are adorable. Best friends since they were ten, Lizzy has always loved and appreciated Jack as a friend while Jack has always had a crush on Lizzie but was too scared to act on it.
Lizzy is a successful attorney on track to make partner in two years. But is that her dream? Or her mother’s? After a panic attack during a trial, she begins to reevaluate her priorities.
Jack had a huge part in the success of his family’s business but now feels out of place and like he doesn’t have a purpose.
Both Lizzie and Jack are avid readers and books and bookstores play a huge part in this story which makes my bookstore loving heart happy. If you have ever dreamed of quitting your job and fixing it up and living your dreams this book is for you.
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for the chance to review this arc.
Thank you to Jayci Lee, NetGalley and St. Martin's Griffin for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
Stars: 3.75
Synopsis: Lizzy Chung is more committed to her job than anything else in the world. Which is why it's shocking that she finds she's not fulfilled. She needs a break. She books three weeks away and surprises her best friend, Jack Park, when she shows up in his small town. During this holiday, Lizzy finds more than rest as she works to find love, fulfillment, and maybe a few more surprises along the way.
Review:
As always, a huge accomplishment to anyone--and everyone--who writes and publishes multiple books!
Here's my two stars and a wish...
Star 1: Historically, romances have been all about the protagonist finding herself, but I'm loving the shift to more complex characters all around. This book is no exception. Jack is also built up (though maybe a little too lovesick for me) to explore what he wants in his life.
Star 2: I do love the genuine relationship between the characters. Not just Jack and Lizzy have a connection, but the side characters too. Love it.
Star 3: This book has been categorized under the second chances trope, but I didn't really feel like it got there. Friends-to-lovers? For sure. Big city/small town vibes? Yep. Second chances trope? Ehhhhh, possibly not.
Overall, a fun summer read!
Wow, this one really didn't work for me. I found the writing style here very immature, and I found the storyline stilted and awkward, and unfortunately, with nothing that held my attention. The characters are unrealistic and the story is painfully cringey.

This one was cute! I really enjoyed the childhood crush turned real life best friend turned can't resist crush. There's a common theme in books right now about achieving what you thought was your dream and finding out it wasn't all you thought. I love this perspective and I think this book did a good job of it even if it was unrealistic.
Overall, I loved this book! Friends to lovers but he's been in love with her the entire time is my favorite trope, by far. Them working on the bookshop together was such a fun basis to the story, and the epilogue was absolutely perfect. I am absolutely going to read A Sweet Mess and The Dating Dare! Tara was such a great character so I am so excited she has her own book.
I love how careers were handled in this book too. Way too often in romance novels, one of them moves away to be with the other dropping their entire career and it drives me insane. I understand sometimes a couple has to make hard decisions like that, but no reasonable person would drop their entire life to be with someone a week after getting into a relationship with them. I love how they went their own way for a minute until Lizzie was able to figure out exactly what she wanted in her life, and how Jack didn't change his plans to move to LA. He wasn't only moving there to be with Lizzie, he was moving their because he needed something different career-wise and he couldn't stay at the brewery or in that small town anymore.
My only issue with the book is this all feels very impulsive on Lizzie's side, and she does not seem like the type of person to be so impulsive. It may be stereotypical, but I feel like the big city lawyer who has busted her ass and done everything right (so to speak) would be more reserved and not impulsive by nature. Once again, I understand she's going through a bit of a quarter-life crisis and finding herself, but the amount of impulsiveness in terms of her relationship with Jack and her career feels inauthentic at times.
(I really give this 4.5/5 stars, Netgalley doesn't allow for half stars)
Jack is the sweetest golden retriever book boyfriend. I love when the guy falls first in a friends-to-lovers trope. This slow burn kicked up the sexual tension to a 10 from the first few chapters, and I loved how they were both in denial of their feelings in the beginning. I’m not a huge fan of miscommunication tropes, but I also under the need for tension only to be reconciled for an HEA. I really enjoyed learning a little bit about Korean culture while reading this book.
This was such a feel good, friends to lovers read! I love a friends to lovers and this one exceeded all expectations. Lizzy has been friends with Jack for 20 years and their friendship and chemistry continued to build. Ultimately, long distance was going to be an issue in their newly formed romantic relationship, yet neither would express what they were willing to sacrifice. This is a great story about finding yourself and making your dreams happen versus the dreams others have for you. I also loved how there was a mental health, medication, and therapy highlight!
I received an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
4.5 stars!!
This was my first Jayci Lee novel and I absolutely adored Lizzy and Jack and their friends to lovers journey. Jack has been in love with Lizzy since they were kids and Lizzy’s feelings blossom when she visits for a few weeks to get a break from her high stress - anxiety inducing job as a corporate lawyer. I really appreciated how Jayci wrote about Lizzy’s anxiety from her high pressure work and trying to mold herself into a career she doesn’t love. The touches of Korean culture and bookish references were really lovely. I absolutely teared up at the happy ending.
