A quick read with a friends-to-lovers trope. It personally reminded me of Emily Henry’s “People We Meet on Vacation.” I rated it a 3/5 because I personally can’t get into the friends-to-lovers trope without a fallout that makes them enemies for awhile. I did enjoy the unrequited love aspect. It was a good book, but also not life altering. I would recommend this as a quick read.
This book had a great premise. I liked the characters and felt like I got to know them pretty well. I loved the that book store played such a central role in the plot, but unfortunately much of the Romance feel a little flat for me. The dialogue didn’t feel witty or realistic and the love story just didn’t keep my attention.
This was a hard DNF for me. As much as I wanted to like this, at around 50% I completely lost interest and couldn't bring myself to finish. I wasn't invested in the romance at all and I think it was due to it feeling really inauthentic to me. Unfortunately, it felt to me as though the author was shoving their feelings (particularly Jack's) down my throat instead of leading me on a journey to feel what he was feeling.
The overall concept I think is super cute, the writing and the characters were just a miss for me this time around....

I enjoyed Lizzy and Jack and watching their friendship turn into something more.
I adored the bookstore aspect and watching Lizzy and Jack help Shannon turn her bookstore into something beautiful.
I did get bored in parts unfortunately but all in all I did enjoy it.
I LOVED this book!! hit a little too close to home as a Lizzie who is in law school and also is absolutely obsessed with books (was a little shook but didn’t drop out so that’s good!)! The character’s were great and I loved seeing them develop throughout the novel! Won’t lie also love a goof friends-to-lovers book! Cute read if your looking for a fluffy quick beach or rainy day read!
Special Thanks to Netgalley, St. Martin’s Press, and Jayci Lee for this digital ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I really enjoyed this! It was so cute and fluffy. Lizzy is an attorney in LA who struggles with anxiety & decides she needs a break so she goes on a vacation! and where does she go? Weldon... which is exactly where her best friend Jack lives. Oh also, he's been in love with her since he was 10. She's there for 3 weeks to recover from this burn out & learns so much, not only about herself but also Jack & what she wants in her life! I loved both the main characters and definitely related a lot to Lizzy & her anxiety. Jack was a sweetie & i enjoyed reading about their love story. It was a cute friends - lovers and i'm happy i read this!

Book: Booked on a Feeling
Author: Jayci Lee
Rating: 5/5
Synopsis:
Jayci Lee's romcom Booked on a Feeling features an overachieving lawyer. A failing bookstore. A childhood friend. And the chance of a lifetime…
Lizzy "Overachiever" Chung, Esq. has her life mapped out neatly:
* Become a lawyer. Check.
* Join a prestigious law firm. Check.
* Make partner. In progress.
If all goes to plan, she will check off that last box in a couple years, make her parents proud, and live a successful, fulfilled life in L.A. What was not in her plans was passing out from a panic attack during a pivotal moment in her career. A few deep breaths and a four hour drive later, Lizzy is in Weldon for three weeks to shed the burnout and figure out what went wrong. And what better place to recharge than the small California town where she spent her childhood summers with her best friend, Jack Park.
Jack Park didn't expect to see Lizzy back in Weldon, but now he's got three weeks to spend with the girl of his dreams. Except she doesn't know of his decades-long crush on her--and he intends to keep it that way. She's a high-powered attorney who lives in L.A. and he's a bookkeeper at his family's brewery who never left his hometown. He can't risk their friendship on a long shot. Can he? When Lizzy decides that the local bookstore needs a little revamp, of course, Jack is going to help her bring it back to life. But the more time they spend together, the harder it becomes to ignore there might be more than just friendship among the dusty shelves and books...
Sometimes the path to the rest of your life has been in front of you all along.
Review:
I adored this book! Lizzy and Jack were adorable and I loved getting to see their journey from friends to more. The friends to lovers trope is my absolute favorite trope of all time, so I am so happy that Jayci did this trope justice. Aside from the romance, I loved the bookstore setting since I am a bookworm myself. This was a super fun and fast spring read.

A really cute fluffy read. I mean talk about falling in love with you best friend of 20 years and having a bookish romance in a book store. I will say chapters 3-6 were kinda boring for me but everything after super cute and a fast read !

Absolutely amazing book that was so hard to put down but I also wanted it to last forever. Perfect characters and everything.
Unfortunately this book was a 3 star flop for me. This book has a perfect premise, all the things I wanted in a good rom-com - a book about books, friends to lovers trope, small town.. all so good. But it just wasn’t. I couldn’t stand that these two were best friends and yet neither of them knew the other didn’t like their job and life, and also the fact that they both had the exact same issues was annoying, why couldn’t they have had different stories? Now don’t get me wrong, some of the banter was cute but a lot of it felt very forced. The “sexy talk” and vulgar language felt very forced at times and not natural. It also felt too predictable. I get that romances are, but I could’ve guessed each thing that happened. Overall, it was cute but not a book I’d recommend or read again.
This book was fundamentally okay. I think the love story was sweet and easy to read, but the lack of a back story was really off putting to me. I like to know more about the characters then what I got. I think this book will find its people, but I wasn’t one of them
Booked on a Feeling tells the story on Lizzy who is a successful lawyer living in LA, except she feels no sense of joy from her success. Instead she feels anxiety and pressure. After winning a big case, she decides to take a break and move to the small town of Weldon where her best friend Jack lives to get some R and R before heading back for her next big lawyering case! The plot goes on to tell a romantic tale of friends to lovers.
Now if you are like me and have read all of the other books in the Sweet Mess series, then you may remember Jack as the brother of Tara. He helps run the family brewery. I will also note that Aubrey and Tara make appearances in this book as well. All books in the series are standalone, but they are all so good so please read them all!! Actually read all of Jayci Lee's books. They are so heartwarming and sweet and I would do anything to move to the town of Weldon. The perfect small mountain town!
Overall, a very cute story and well-written. I mean who doesn't like a book about bookstores! Highly recommend.

I really wanted to love this book but I couldn’t it just felt really slow and. I couldn’t deal with that
Thanks net gallery
Lizzy is the typical overachiever, working at a law-firm in Los Angeles, fast-tracked to partner. This is everything Lizzy wants, right? Maybe not. After passing out in her first trial, she takes some time off work to visit her best friend in the world. One she arrives in Weldon, a charming town several hours from Los Angeles, she is finally able to breathe. Her time in Weldon is a bit more exciting than Lizzy had originally intended, when she starts to realize just how cute her best friend, Jack is.
Such a cute romcom! Absolutely adored the characters, and Lizzy's love of bookstores. It was an added benefit to read the details of fixing up the bookstore in Weldon!

Friends ➡️ lovers 👫🏻
This is the story of Lizzy Chung and Jack Park. She’s a lawyer in LA and he is working at his family’s brewery four hours away. Lizzy decides to take some time off work and hang out with her best friend for a while. Little did she know that so much more would happen.
This story had it all, from being friends to escalating to lovers, to a fight that ended things and then ultimately going back to each other. I was genuinely intrigued throughout the story but thought it could’ve used a little more excitement, which is why I chose to give it 4/5 🌟

Synopsis:
Lizzy, a hardworking lawyer on her way to get partner at her firm, just won her first case. But afterwards she is happy but not as happy or excited as she should feel. Realizing she is burnt out and needs a vacation, Lizzy heads to Weldon. A small town outside of LA where her best friend Jack lives.
Jack currently lives and in Weldon working at his family’s brewery. Jack loves working there and loves his family but it’s not what he wants to do for the rest of his life. He is up for a job in LA, which would put him in the same city as his best friend Lizzy, who he may or may not be in love with.
When Lizzy surprises Jack and comes to Weldon for three weeks, they both realize their feelings and decide to go on a trial run.
I don’t want to give any spoilers for the end of the book, but, if you love cute friends to lovers romance this book is totally for you!

This book was seriously adorable!! Our main character Lizzy is an attorney in LA, working hard to make partner and live up to her mother’s expectations. Like so many people, she struggles with anxiety and panic attacks. Deciding that she finally deserves a break, she heads to Weldon for a three week vacation which also just happens to be where her childhood best friend (who’s been in love with her since he was 10) Jack lives. In these three weeks, Lizzy learns so much about herself, her best friend, and what she truly wants in life. I love Lizzy’s character; I can see so much of myself in her and I found her to be incredibly relatable. I also was such a sucker for Jack! Best friends to lovers is always such a cute troupe to read. This book made me smile, blush, giggle; it’s definitely a book I’d recommend to my friends and one I would read again!

Unfortunately this book fell flat to me. I didnt really connect to either character. I had a hard time believing Jack was a 30yr old man as he acted more like a teenager. Burnt our lawyer goes back home reads like a hallmark movie but unfortunately this didnt have the depth or the charm i look for in a rom com.
✨Book Review - Booked on a Feeling by Jayci Lee✨
Here’s another book for you to add to your TBR list. It’s not out yet but will be available July 26.
Successful lawyer, Lizzie Chung, is living her best life in LA, until she has a panic attack in court and decides to head to Weldon for a few weeks to regroup. Jack Park, bookkeeper at his family’s brewery and Lizzie’s best friend, is more than excited to spend the time with her. Especially because he’s been harboring feelings for her since they were kids. He doesn’t want to ruin their friendship but as they spend more time together, it becomes harder to ignore the feelings. Should he take his shot?
Such a cute book. Cheesy? Yes. Cliche? Yes. But, I rooted for Lizzie and Jack. They were cute and while many issues could have been avoided, it was still a sweet and easy read. It made me think of Hallmark movies; childhood friends to lovers trope, small town setting, awkward moments. If you need a lighthearted book, this is a good one.
