Annie (Stormy) Tillman wakes up lying in the dirt and instantly knows she is in a dangerous situation. She has no idea who she is, how she ended up on a cliffside with two young children, or why she is being shot at. She only knows she needs to get the children to safety.
Former FBI agent Riggs Brenner had quit law enforcement and moved to Palo Duro Canyon after his wife and daughter died. He felt like had let them down by not keeping them safe. He didn’t want to get involved in whatever was going on with Stormy. But his protective instinct kicks in as they try to outrun the gunmen and keeping the children and Stormy alive becomes his priority.
This book starts out fast-paced and intense which continues until the very end. It’s packed with action, twists and turns, intrigue, and danger that will have you on the edge of your seat. Stormy and Brigg’s pasts were filled with heartache and guilt but they both hold on to their faith to get them through. This was a wonderful Love Inspired Suspense and I enjoyed reading it.

Her memories are key to their survival...
Canyon Survival is only the second book that I've read by Connie Queen, and, while I did like first one a touch better, this one was a pretty good read as well. It had all of the elements that make up a true Love Inspired Suspense novel. Of course, that means starting out with an exciting scene fraught with peril and the enticing promise of mystery and intrigue to come.
Amnesia has been a bit overused in fiction but despite that it can still be done well – and Connie Queen does do it well. Annie's confusion and Riggs' suspicion are pretty believable. I also appreciated how her returning memory took time, with some bits and pieces nearly to the end of the book.
The highlight of Canyon Survival is, of course, Palo Duro Canyon in the Texas Panhandle. After finishing the story I looked up the canyon and was surprised to find out that it is 120 miles long and up to 20 miles wide. Wow! No wonder Connie Queen chose to set her story there! Not only is it a dangerous environment but there's room in that canyon for some serious suspense angles!
One can never go wrong when choosing a Love Inspired Suspense. They are easy to carry around and short enough to finish in an afternoon. They also entertain with romantic suspense while still encouraging your own journey of faith. Canyon Survival lives up to that in every way and should be on your Love Inspired Suspense want-to-read list...Just be sure to grab a glass of water for the hot and dusty adventure...

I liked this suspense novel. I thought it kept you guessing till the end of the book. I liked that it had the right amount of suspense and a little romance. I liked that we got to see how each of the characters dealt with guilt over things that were not their fault. I liked that there was a resolution and that the main characters ended up together and were able to do something that meant a lot to both of them.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
Such a fun mystery! I loved reading this one, and enjoyed reading a new LIS author! I'm excited to add Connie Queen to my list of authors and new books to look for in the future.
Canyon Survival is a Love Inspired Suspense Book that is written by Connie Queen. This book has all the action and does not take much time in between to let your heart beat normally again. When a woman wakes up on the side of a ledge with two children she does not know who they are and someone shooting at you she has no memory of anything. While she is not sure how she got the children, the overwhelming urge to protect them is strong. She meets Riggs while she is trying to escape gun fire. Riggs does not immediately believe her story 100% of the amnesia, but agrees to help her and the children.
Slowly we start to learn this woman's story. Who is chasing her, who the children are and what secrets she tries to keep buried deep inside. Riggs has his own secrets, his wife and child were killed in a house explosion which he blames himself for. I enjoyed watching the two of them unravel the woman's identity and if the children are part of a child trafficking ring.
Non Stop action, danger, suspense, romance, and so much more! Well written characters, suspenseful storyline, and an enjoyable Spring read. I received a copy of this book through JustRead Publicity Tours, all thoughts are my own.
Canyon Survival is appropriately named, and the cover does the story justice. I love the cover and the story made me want to visit a canyon, just not under the circumstances the main characters find themselves in.
Queen immediately sets you down in the middle of a mystery. Staring with a woman with amnesia caring for two kids in the middle of nowhere, running for their lives. From the beginning, the story is fraught with tension, suspense, a budding relationship, sweet children, and so much more.
There is a lot going on in the story, and I did not figure out the bad guys until almost the end. My biggest struggle with the book was it was very description heavy, whereas I prefer more dialogue. It was a quick read with a unique setting.

Canyon Survival by Connie Queen is a Love Inspired Suspense.
And suspense it is! From the moment the main character wakes on the edge of a canyon with two children in her charge and no memory, the action doesn’t stop until the last page. Shootouts, explosions, and the wilds of nature—this book has it all!
I also liked the relational dynamic between the two main characters, they had a lot going on and a lot of baggage from their pasts, but they handled themselves like mature adults, which I always like. Plus the children were sweet and had me hoping for a happily ever after for everyone.
If you enjoy Love Inspired Suspense novels, then check out Canyon Survival.

A deadly chase through a canyon puts a woman who doesn't know who she is, with two children under her care, in the path of former FBI agent Riggs Brenner.
A fast paced read, that keeps up the tension and high stakes throughout, the heroine doesn't remember who she is or who the children are or why they are with her. I liked that even though she doesn't know who she is, she still clings to her faith and is willing to do everything that she can to protect the children in her care. But as the pieces come together, Riggs becomes more invested in their little crew, despite his original reasons for being up in the mountains.
An action packed, definitely a page turning read, with great elements of mystery, suspense, relationship building and action. A highly enjoyable and satisfying read from beginning to end!

When Annie Tillman wakes up in a canyon without her memory, all she knows is that she's in danger and so are the two children with her. What happens next is a fast-paced race for survival where the stakes get higher and more deadly.
Canyon Survival was a fast-paced read and two characters--Annie and Riggs--who put themselves in danger to protect two unknown children. It was a quick, adrenaline-filled read with characters that you can root for. Readers will be reminded that in every situation, no matter how bleak, God has a plan.
I received an advanced reader's copy from the publisher through Just Read Tours and NetGalley; a positive review was not required.
This story started right up with danger and adventure and kept steadily at it throughout the book. It was very interesting to journey with the main female character as she worked to not only survive but to also discover who she was and why she was on the run with two small children.
I liked that even though Riggs did not immediately trust that the woman he found truly had amnesia, he helped her and the children anyway. He was a good man with a painful back story. He was a strong hero who clearly had compassion on the people he was helping.
These two main characters would unravel the mystery behind the amnesia, work to help others to safety, and fall in love, too. I was also thrilled to find that this book had an epilogue!

Wow, this was quite a fun story. Amnesia, cute kids, and a race for their lives in the great outdoors makes for an exciting read. I wasn't sure how all the pieces would come together in this mystery but it made for a good read trying to figure it all out! Enjoyed this one!

One thing that I always seem to enjoy about Love Inspired Suspense reads is that thy don't make you wait long to get into the action... and don't have many breaks in it to the finish either. This definitely held true for Canyon Survival as well. The action starts immediately, and we find ourselves in that canyon right along with Annie, wondering who she was, how she got there and where these kids came from...and more importantly--- who in the world was after them? From page one right through to the conclusion, this high paced story kept me turning pages to see how it all came together. There was of course some romance too, which I personally might have liked to have seen a little more of, but then I'm definitely one who enjoys more romance! While I was able to figure out who the bad guys were fairly early on in the story, I found that I still enjoyed the story nonetheless. Overall, a good, quick read that fans of romantic suspense are sure to want to check out.

If you’re in search of a romantic suspense that’s original, has a unique setting that becomes a character of its own, and some heart-pounding action, then you do not want to miss Canyon Survival by Connie Queen.
When Annie (aka Stormy) wakes up in the canyon and can’t remember how she got there, who the little girl and baby boy with her are, or who is shooting at her, I was hooked. And this was page one of the book.
Then Riggs enters the scene carrying some heavy baggage laden with guilt and everything ramps up more. Because Riggs is determined not to make the same mistake twice. He will protect Annie and the children right along with his heart.
Queen gives readers a wonderful balance of suspense, emotions, and romance in this book. I loved the unique dangers posed in this book (you’ll have to read it to learn more about them). And even thought I had a pretty good inkling of who was behind everything, I had to keep reading to figure out if I was right in addition to seeing how Riggs and Annie would work their relationship out.

Connie Queen has written a wonderfully suspenseful novel here. What would you do if you suddenly found yourself in a canyon, in the dark with a four year old and a baby in tow, with people shooting at you? And no idea who you were or what you were doing there? Then you stumble onto a ranch and a man aims a shotgun at you? Phew! Talk about suspense! Action from the get-go and continues throughout the book. This is a good suspense book.
I won a copy of this book and was under no obligation to leave a review. I also had a Net Galley copy from the publisher. The opinion here is entirely my own.
