I received this Arc from Netgalley. Thank you for the chance to read this book early. My review is honest and 100% my own thoughts about the book.
This book had me on my fee and further on my toes. The author was amazing in writing a story that at one point had me second guessing if what I was reading was really what I read or was it a dream. It had me second guessing myself. It had a really big plot twist and like to mess with your mind.
This story shows us what PTSD can do to ones mind and sometimes people around us that love us are not always sure how to deal with mental health issues. They may not even see the signs of needing help mentally. This book is full of twist and turns of trauma, secrets and lost memories coming to light.
A slow burning psychological thriller that also has the perfect balance of romance too. The pacing worked well and there was definitely a good amount of twists and unpredictability
First of all thanks to NetGalley and Victory Editing for providing me an ARC for my honest review. I do enjoy reading psychological thrillers and this didn't disappoint. I really felt like I was in the midst of each situation that was happening in the book, even when at times it seemed a bit far fetched. I think that is the reason why I didn't give this title a five stars. The back and forth between Siren and Sage, almost blurred into one, which I'm sure is what the author intended, but at times I got a bit lost. I would recommend this book to others though! It was an overall good ride and read, which left you wondering what the heck you just read at the end (I love rollercoaster books like this)!
This is definitely a twisty book that keeps you turning the pages! The plot slowly unfolds as you realize what is going on with Sage and Siren, but it's the perfect balance of foretelling and still having suspense and surprise. I stayed up very late to finish this one because I just had to find out what happened and could not put it down!
Siren by Jo-Anne Joseph.
Nothing in life is ever monochrome.
I discovered that a long time ago,
And with all such lessons,
I learned it the hard way.Dark cannot exist without light.
Night can’t occur without day.
Despair can’t flourish without hope.
I couldn’t live without her,
She can’t survive without me.She was meant to be my protector.
It was us against the world.
Allies. Partners.
Instead, she became my worst fear.I allowed that despair to grow and fester.
I let it mar me, then, almost destroy me.
I realized something had to give. This time, there is no turning back.
When the siren calls to you,
You unwillingly answer.Question is… Would I survive the fall?
A great read with great characters. Likeable story. 4*.
