This thriller had some good elements throughout as we discovered more about Jacob and the main character herself. I enjoyed the plot and the book was somewhat dark.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy to honestly review.
This book was not my favorite. The writing style is somewhat confusing. The intertwining of characters still has me wondering what actually happened. I finished this book and immediately erased to from my memory.
I have read and enjoyed Sandie Jones’ books. The Blame Game is no exception. Quick, easy to read makes it the perfect beach read. This book kept me guessing until the end. Completely fast paced read. The ending however had me wanting more.
Wow, Sandie Jones knocks another one out of the park with her newest psychological thriller!
A psychologist, Naomi, is happily married until she starts to have trouble keeping boundaries from her patients. Her husband is not pleased with her need to go the extra step for her patients and her life starts to spiral out of control. Will she let her patients consume her and her past haunt her?
I recommend this book to anyone who loves a fast paced psychological thriller.
This book started off strong and pulled me in immediately. About 3/4 of the way though it became muddled. The twists and turns weren’t needed and actually hurt the book overall by making the book unrealistic.
The story line/idea for this book was phenomenal. The first half of the book was well paced and a great read. About halfway through I found parts dragged out and I didn’t love the way the characters changed. Lots of this began to seem implausible. Then end really was a struggle for me. It felt rushed and I felt there were a lot of gaps that could have been filled.
Overall this was just a mediocre read for me.
The Blame Game is a super-twisty page-turning mystery/thriller. I often guess the ending of domestic thrillers, but not this one. I love author Sandie Jones’ novels and this one is no exception. I will recommend this book to my patrons.
I am a library associate and received an advance copy from #NetGalley. Opinions are my own.
Thanks to NetGalley for providing an ARC to read in exchange for an honest review. This one was wild…kind of out there at times, especially toward the end. I did start to figure it out, but I wasn’t convinced I had it right until the end. Very twisty ending and a quick read! I’ve read a book or two from this author before, and she always keeps you guessing!
This book was just alright for me- the characters and plot were pretty boring and nothing really stood out for me. This is the 2nd Jones book I didn’t like in a row. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a free copy in exchange for review.
I love this author.! She never disappoints.. it kept me going. It was a great summer read! I’m convinced I’ll read anything she writes and always recommend them!
Well Bite My Cracker! 😳😯🤯
While this wasn't a favourite book by Jones for me, it had some great attributes! Her writing, as always, was great! It was mostly enjoyable, intriguing, some great twists to make it a true thriller. You definitely want and need to know what happens with this book for sure! I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it like her others. That being said, I'm still glad I got to read it. Satisfying in its own way.
Mყ 𝐒ყɴ𝐨ρѕιѕ: Naomi is a psychologist that used to live in New York and now resides in London. She has a small personal practice and specializes in domestic abuse. However, her own ethics & boundaries with clients sometimes get muddled due to her extensive empathy she has for them. When Jacob, a fairly new patient starts seeing her & she helps him to leave a horrendous abusive marriage, she may have gone a step too far offering him residency. And when the police show up and ask her about his missing whereabouts, her past will become mixed with her present and the truth of it all.
Jones has always been one of my favourite authors with her past books. But unfortunately, this one fell short for me. I loved the sound of the premise so much and I felt because it was by Jones it'd be a sure fire love for me. But there was some things that just didn't fit for me and I didn't like / care for; especially the main character & the ethics of her & her job that rubbed me the wrong way. I don't need to love or admire a character to love a book, but this character did nothing for me at all. There were many slow moments & an ending I felt a bit rushed; but I will say I still found it enjoyable to read all of that aside!
Thank you to NetGalley & St. Martin's Press for this ARC.

𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭: 3 / 5 Beach Waves! 🌊
This story was a little far fetched for my liking, but it did have a couple of fun twists. I’ve enjoyed other books by this author more.
3.5 stars. This book was a short slow read. It went a little slow for me. It was also very confusing at times as to who was who and was doing what.
There was some blaming, deception and confusion in this psychological thriller.
Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy of this book.
Finally after a bunch of duds I found a winner! This book bent my mind into a pretzel. I could not predict where it was going, who was telling the truth, and how it would all end. The ending was the cherry on top and I couldn’t help but feel satisfied she got what she deserved.
Naomi is a psychologist specializing in domestic abuse. The events that occurred in her childhood made advocating for domestic violence an important cause for her. She has always been willing to go the extra mile for her patients, however after helping Jacob leave his abusing wife she is worried that this time she’s bitten off more than she could chew.
Things start to get fishy from here and Naomi can’t shake the feeling someone has been in her home and is watching her. This is especially true after Jacob’s file goes missing and soon after Jacob himself goes missing.
Naomi is the prime suspect in Jacob’s disappearance. The evidence is piling up that their relationship is beyond professional and that Naomi knows what happened to him. Is Naomi being set up? Who really is Jacob? Will she be able to figure out who is telling the truth or has Naomi really gone off the deep end?
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this arc in exchange for my honest review.
I loved this book! So far one of my favorite Sandie Jones. I was gripped the whole time on the edge of my seat. Lots of good twists!
The Blame Game by Sandie Jones is the first book I have read by this author. I had a difficult time connecting to any of the characters. Also, being a former therapist, I found it difficult to connect to the main character and her shady ethics. It felt like too much was going on with the story and with Naomi, between her past trauma, the troubles with her husband, and then her clients.
I may check out more books by this author, but I did not care for The Blame Game.

I did enjoy this book. I’ve read all of This authors books and have liked them all. I had this book pretty much figured out . I knew once the lines were crossed between therapist/client, things would go south. I would recommend this to my friends and family.
•THE BLAME GAME• Sandie Jones
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
This author is always hit or miss for me, this one wasn’t my favorite.
She did do a good job at keeping the tension throughout, but it was just really convoluted.
It’s about a therapist that tends to cross professional boundaries and help her patients when they need her. Now, she has helped a man leave his wife, which becomes the catalyst that turns her world upside down….
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me an advanced to copy in exchange for an honest review. Let me just start that I am a big fan of Sandie Jones. Her last book as a little disappointing so my expectation was low going into this one. The Blame Game does not disappoint! It has a good pace. Several twists and turns, all the way up to the last few pages. I was kept guessing and never quite sure which characters to trust. If you enjoy domestic suspense you will greatly enjoy this read!
I have read Sandie Jones books before and I like her writing style and characters. This is not one of my favorites of Sandie Jones' books, but it kept me reading to find out the truth and as more characters are introduced and the detectives elaborate their investigation, you realize things may not be as it appears.
The characters are tough to connect to and I found it hard to find one that I liked. I really had to question their motives, their thought processes and the reality of them.
However - there is something that compels you to keep reading because the story is interesting and there is something new around every corner. All in all it is a quick read to enjoy.
Thank you NetGalley and St Martin's Press for the opportunity to read.
