OHHHH!! I really liked this one... Naomi is a domestic abuse therapist. When she over helps one of her clients Jacob, leave his abusive wife and stay in her guest house... things all start going wrong. He misses his session which never happens, The door to her office is unlocked and His file goes missing, Then another client she has needs her help in leaving her abusive husband and she just cant turn away.. but something is off with this situation and she cant shake it. When Jacob does missing, Naomi becomes the number one suspect. She knows she did nothing wrong, but how can she prove it when all evidence points to her?

I was really invested in this one... I had the opportunity to also listen to the audiobook, which was amazing !! Naomi as a character was a very messy, but in the best way possible for a thriller. and the TWIST at the end OMG... totally surprised. I did still have so many questions at the end of this book... I need answers!!

Overall, very good thriller, great narration!! I will definitely be reading more by her in the future !!

I've been a huge Sandie Jones fan ever since her debut and went into this rather hopeful despite the lackluster reviews, but clearly the reviews are lackluster for a reason. It also didn't feel like under 260 pages as I took ages to finish reading.

Despite its promising premise and intriguing set-up, The Blame Game is your typical domestic thriller and a big mess. There are several plotlines hastily thrown together, none of which turn out to be particularly satisfying. The epilogue was super unnecessary and I wish the author had just stuck to letting you-know-who prevail.

What make this book so aggravating is its naive and foolish protagonist, who keeps digging a larger hole for herself while her lies continue to snowball. I found Naomi's motivations and justifications extremely unbelievable. She also really annoyed me by refusing to just come clean over minor matters, showing no respect for her job or marriage.

I did like how the author discusses toxic and abusive relationships though, as it was so painfully relatable. I loved that Naomi was a psychologist. Which might be why I feel extra disappointed overall. This is my 5th Sandie Jones novel and I look forward to her next one still.

I really enjoy everything I've ever read by Sandie Jones. This was no exception! I don't want to spoil anything, so please please please read this one to see for yourself!!

I typically LOVE a Sandie Jones binge read. I cannot lie, I didn’t enjoy this one. The whole time I found myself internally screaming, “WHY ARE YOU EVEN LYING ABOUT THIS?!” This entire book would have been nothing had Naomi just stopped telling lies when she didn’t even have to. There were a lot of plot holes throughout the entire read.
Overall I was just frustrated during the entire book. Almost a DNF, but I was already 70% through it before I hit my “oh my god, what am I even doing reading this??” so I powered through. I will say, the epilogue was pretty solid!

*I received a free copy of this novel from NetGalley, St. Martin's Press and Minotaur Books for my honest review.*

Naomi is a psychologist specializing in domestic abuse relationships and she has a past that she left behind in New York when she moved to England. And now that she has overstepped boundaries, her client and her client's files have gone missing. And in her search, she begins to look like the one who is in need of mental health.

Sandie Jones' novels are always thrillers with twists and turns! And she also makes you want to shake the main character from time to time. This book was no different. But there were so many things going wrong, I started to wonder if I was being gas lit into seeing Naomi as a bit of a nutter. Did not see the ending coming! Great read!

I always love a good Sandie Jones book!

The Blame Game truly lived up to its title. It’s very twisty and keeps you guessing throughout the entire book!

I highly recommend and can’t wait for Ms Jones next book!

I need to learn that this author just isn't for me. I haven't enjoyed many of her books, but I keep picking them up. This one really just didn't do it for me, but it was very fast-paced and leaves you with questions at the end, which is always fun.

Another fantastic, twisty psychological thriller by Sandie Jones. She turns readers' expectations upside-down with every twist!

Another twisted and mind numbing story from Sandie Jones.
As the title suggests there's a lot of blame being tossed around and it's not until the very last sentence that it all comes together. Those one had me bouncing around mentally trying to figure out who did what to who and when. A very quick and entertaining read. I look forward to what Ms. Jones comes up with next.

Thank you to St Martin's Press and NetGalley for the for the ARC for me to read, review and enjoy. Sorry it took so long...

With multiple marriages on the rocks and relationships that lack trust, this domestic thriller really covers all of the twisty relationships! Naomi is a counselor who specializes in domestic violence, and she may have crossed the line with her most recent client, Jacob. But what does this mean for her own marriage? And for Jacob's wife?

Another quick read by Sandie Jones, I enjoyed the complicated relationships between everyone. I also found myself constantly wondering who was telling the truth and trying to figure out who was trustworthy and who was truly in danger. Overall, I would recommend this quick and twisty thriller!

Even though there are 2 Sandie Jones novels I have not read yet, I've been trying to read them all because they are just so darn entertaining. The Blame Game is what a lot of readers would call a popcorn thriller and they would not be wrong. Like all of Jones's novels I have read so far, it is an easy one-sitting read and so bingeable that I didn't want to put it down. Now, this book does talk about abuse so maybe "entertaining" isn't completely the right word to use for this one, but it gets so wild, and Naomi's lack of boundaries completely fascinated me. She clearly doesn't make for a great psychologist in that respect, but her unorthodox technique definitely brought out everyone's secrets.

I loved how twisty The Blame Game was and the epilogue was just priceless. There was plenty going on so I wouldn’t call this a slow burn, but if you REALLY want to get into it, I would recommend the audiobook. Karissa Vacker is one of my favorite narrators and she made for a great Naomi. I loved her narration for the audio and considering it's not even 7.5 hours long, makes it a really quick listen. This is definitely domestic suspense first and foremost, and I think Jones really brought the suspense through especially well. Don’t pick this up if you want something realistic, but if you want a story to escape into and get lost in The Blame Game is a perfect choice!

THE BLAME GAME by Sandie Jones was good but not my favorite of hers. The main plot was ok. I didn’t like was how stupid the MC was. I mean really. If any professional counselor/therapist/psychologist did the things she did, they’d be banned from practicing. Not only that but moving patients into your personal life/home when you are their psychologist is not going to be a great idea. 🙄

Her writing style is always intriguing enough for me to stay interested and see where it was going. I’ll always look forward to a Sandie Jones thriller.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 The Blame Game - Sandie Jones

Naomi is a therapist who seems to have a habit of becoming too involved in her patients lives. When she helps her patient Jacob leave his abusive relationship, things get wildly out of hand quickly!

This book had a lot of potential and I really loved the build up and setting of the story.

*potential spoiler* but we dive deep into Naomi’s past, and I thought that this would come to be something but it really didn’t amount to much so that fell flat for me!

I received a free copy from NetGalley. Professional boundaries are completely lacking when mental health needs to be treated so seriously and not made worse by examples like this.

Date made up. I feel behind on reviews.

I really liked this book, especially the fast pace. I found myself wanting to read just one more chapter. I figured out the plot twist at the very end, but it kept me guessing the whole way through. A quick fun read! I would recommend this book for sure! I received a free copy of this book from netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

I'm a big fan of Sandie Jones and was really interested by one of the central premises of The Blame Game - a therapist getting waaaaaaaaaaay too personally involved with her patients. I won't touch on the ethics here or the believability. To enjoy this book, you need to embrace the mess and get on board for the ride.

It's a short and quick read that packs in a lot; this did make some things feel a bit disjointed and left me with some lingering questions. Also Leon is the worst.

Pick this up if you're looking an entertaining read with unlikable characters!

Look forward to the author's next book!

Thank you to Minotaur and NetGalley for the eARC to read and review.

Another amazing domestic suspense novel by Sandie Jones. Filled with twists and turns, I had a hard time putting this book down once I started reading. I got lucky with a couple of my guesses, but still really enjoyed this story. It was a gripping read that held my interest from start to finish. I can’t wait for her next book.

As much as I have enjoyed previous books by this author, I unfortunately found The Blame Game completely lacking, and just a huge mess. The main character was all over the place with her motivations, and made stupid decisions, constantly lying to her husband for no reason and getting too involved in things she shouldn't be. There was no motivation for me as the reader to root for her. Hoping for better books ahead from Sandie Jones.
