The Bet is Yet to Come by Debbie Macomber is her latest women's fiction. It reveals how circumstances can affect your future life. Hope left California to escape memories and moved to Washington to start a new life. Cade faced post trauma from his days in the military; he had to put feelings of being unloved from his family, and unworthy. He finds his life changes when he has to do community service and meeting Hope.
Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read #The Best is Yet to Come before i ...more
Debbie Macomber never disappoints.
This has a little bit of everything, love, family and the best part,,dogs! I LOVE how the animal shelter and rescue was a big part of this book. It definitely had my attention immediately when I started reading that part.
And last but not least I just LOVE a happy ending.
Another great romance by Debbie Macomber This is an author that I can always recommend to my romance readers and know they will be satisfied
I loved this book, and everything about it. I loved the characters, the way the story flowed so perfectly, and the story itself. Everytime a new Debbie Macomber book comes out, I instantly want to grab a cozy blanket, a hot cup of tea, and do nothing but read the whole day.
This is such a wonderful story. I always know I will be satisfied with the endings of Macombers books, so I can just sit back and enjoy. I truly did with this one too.
I highly recommend this book to anyone. It's one of those stories that could he enjoyed by anyone.

Debbie Macomber is well-known for writing sweet, enjoyable romance novels and "The Best is Yet to Come" is no exception. In her newest novel, Hope is a high school teacher who has moved to the Washington coast for a respite after the death of her twin brother. While helping at an animal shelter, she meets Cade, a veteran who is dealing with PTSD, injuries, and even an arrest record. As they both focus on healing, they also recognize kindred spirits in each other.
I really enjoyed the way this book tackled some heavy topics, such as PTSD, death, and loss. However, I never felt that this book was sad or despondent. Instead, it was a fun read and I enjoyed the romance between Hope and Cade. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
Debbie Macomber writes books that I feel like I am a part of - this is no exception: engaging characters, and a great setting. The romance feels real and the book is paced well. I loved Hope and Cade’s growth throughout the novel, and loved the tension and of course, the happily ever after ending.
I did have 2 small issues: the character of Mellie changed to Millie several times and also there was a writing flaw with the order of the deaths of Hope’s grandparents - neither was a plot changing thing, but a continuity issue I am not used to having with Macomber’s work.
We return to Oceanside Washington for the story of Hope a school teacher who is trying to escape the painful memories of her twin brother, killed in Afghanistan leaving her with no family at all.
Cade is a returned Veteran who we meet in a courthouse on trial for a bar fight. The judge sees something in him that makes her sentence him to therapy, both mental and physical as he was injured in the attack that killed his two best friends. He also has community service. The journey both of these characters take is heartwarming and I loved it.
How happy I was to have my “wish” granted by the publisher. This latest book by Debbie Macomber is perfectly titled “The Best is Yet to Come” because it’s all about new beginnings and second chances. Hope moves to Oceanside to start a new life without her twin brother. She meets Cade, a veteran, who is also starting his life over and a special friendship evolves! This was a wonderful heartwarming story and I enjoyed it a lot. Many thanks to NetGalley and to Random House Publishing, Ballantine Books for granting my wish and allowing me to read this early release in exchange for my honest review. To be published July 12, 2022
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher the opportunity to read and review this book, all thoughts are my own. Hope wants to make a fresh start for herself after her twin is killed in the service. She is a High School teacher who also volunteers at the local animal shelter where she meets Cade, a injured serviceman who has to perform community service by also volunteering at the same local shelter. Mix in some drama at the school and with Cade's estrangement with his folks and you have a feel-good small town story that makes you want to live there, I love Debbie Macomber's books - I savor them and enjoy each page and chapter. Thank you for yet another great visit to Oceanside, Washington.
Debbie Macomber never disappoints. I really enjoyed the story of Hope and Cade. Cade was truly a person that needed help and I am glad that the judge gave him a second chance. Had she not the outcome would have been significantly different. Hope was lost and needed to be found as well. I love how the book highlighted volunteering and how it benefits everyone. Both parties get a lot out of volunteering. Debbie Macomber always has a great story to tell and the characters are well developed and the story is enjoyable. Thank you for letting me read the book
As is usual, the cover draws me in and then I notice the author is one of my favorites. I was hopeful that this one would not disappoint me and found it up to the challenge of keeping me entertained until the very end. We learn of Hope's brother's death, a recent move, and then I knew it was going to be ok when the animal rescue work was introduced. With the help of caring neighbors, a rescue dog, and interesting peers. things are looking up for Hope. Will things last? If you are a fan of Debbie Macomber, read this one to find out. If you are unfamiliar with her writing give this one a try. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review.
Great book as always. I really enjoyed that it followed up on some of the characters from "A Walk on the Beach". It told a wonderful story of a couple working through their past life experiences. It didn't take me very long to read this because I wanted to know what happened next and would the couple survive through everything that happens. I recommend reading this book.
Life has hit Hope with anything but hope with the death of her twin brother. She takes a teaching job in another area to see if she can start to make a new life. She still feels that something is missing. Her landlord talks her into volunteering at the animal shelter where she meets a special dog, Shadow, who has been dropped off. Shadow appears to have no hope either and will not have anything to do with anyone, other than being mean and vicious towards everyone. He seems to become taken with Hope and she is the only one he will let get close to him.
Cade Lincoln Jr. is another hopeless victim, having suffered with injuries from being in service. Having committed a crime that could have landed him in jail, the judge sentences him to community service where he finds himself working at the animal shelter.
Time, new friendships, and encouraging each other brings these three together for a delightful read of courage, forgiveness, hope and realization that possibly the best is yet to come.
I received a copy of this book from the author and NetGalley. I extremely enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to others. Debbie Macomber once again brings us a wonderful book.
4 1/2 stars
A wonderful additional to the Oceanside stories. I feel like DM books are hit or miss for me. Sometimes I feel like they are so saccharine that they've gone too far past the point of plausibility. I was pleasantly surprised that this one didn't! It won't knock your socks off, but of course it has the HEA ending that Macomber is known for - it was also nice getting a little check in from the characters in the previous books.
Thank you netgalley, for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are mine and mine alone.

Debbie Macomber is the queen of escapist literature. This is the second book of hers I've read. Ironically, the second one in a row (the other from another author) that had a couple who met at an animal shelter where the guy is putting his life together after committing a crime. I still liked the relationship with these characters, Hope and Cade, very much. I appreciate a clean romance that has decent people helping each other. I got a bit tired of the side story with the high school kids and the ending felt like it was from a completely different book in its tone and action, but, overall, I enjoyed the novel.
The Best is Yet to Come is about new beginnings. Hope Goodwin moves to Oceanside to start a new life after losing her twin brother. Her landlord convinces her to volunteer at the local animal shelter that he runs. At the shelter, Hope meets Cade who is doing some community service for some mistakes he made. A friendship quickly blooms into something more.
This is everything you would expect from one of Debbie Macomber’s stories, and it was such a delight to read. It was very heartwarming. I always look forward to her next release.
Hope Godwin is starting a new beginning in Oceanside, Washington. The new scenery is highly appreciated after the tragic death of her twin brother. Hope decides to volunteer at the local animal shelter and meets Shadow, a dog that nobody wants. Hope strongly believes that Shadow is worth saving. Hope also meets a fellow volunteer named Cade Lincoln. Cade is a former US marine and is suffering in a way no one can understand. Hope opens her heart to Shadow and Cade, will these two broken souls be able to love again?
Debbie Macomber is an auto-buy author for me. I jumped at the chance to read her latest work, THE BEST IS YET TO COME. This is a really nice story about grief, hope, and healing. You can really connect with the main characters, as Macomber’s writing skills are top notch as always!

The Best Is Yet To Come brings trauma, PTSD, drug use, high school drama, family drama, and romance. It has a little bit of everything. It was a beautifully written story of a veteran and the sister of a KIA soldier. Their lives connect, yet neither are prepared or ready for any sort of friendship or otherwise. The woven parts of the story that bring this full circle is the love, honesty, respect, redemption, forgiveness, and patience of Hope and Cade. They both obviously have issues to work through before they can fully love one another. Spencer and Callie have issues to work through, not just from a releationship standpoint, but as emotions run high and scenarios play out you wonder what will become of them and any relationship that they could have. Callie is on a mission to save her brother from a downward spiral he seems to have found himself on and the major impact that being one of the top players on a high school football team can have on young kids. High school drama and teenage hormones are a force to be reckoned with. I adored this story! Debbie never let's her readers down!!
I received this digital copy from Netgalley for an honest review. I give it 5 stars!!
Thanks to NetGalley for the eARC of this book.
The Best Is Yet to Come was the perfect quick light read that I needed after a stressful week at work. Hope is brokenhearted and looking to start over. She finds the perfect place for that in Oceanside, Washington. Hope begins volunteering at the local animal shelter where she meets Shadow, a rescue dog who like herself, needs a new beginning. She also meets Cade who is a wounded veteran. Together the three of them learn to move forward and find happiness.
I have a soft spot for stories involving veterans and happy endings. Overall I enjoyed the book as I do most books by Debbie Macomber. I enjoyed watching Cade (the former Marine) learn to live with his PTSD and Hope help him through it. I would recommend this book!
This book put me in tears quite a few times, which is a good thing. It is so beautifully written. I couldn’t put it down. I loved the detail put into each of the characters in the story. I don’t often give out 5 stars, but this book is definitely a 5 star book.
