I enjoyed reading this book. It's a light hearted easy read romance novel. I managed to read this in 2 sittings. It's about a vet who put a stop to her wedding and decides to pack up and just to temporary relief jobs do she doesn't stay in one place.....she wants to find herself again. What she doesn't realise is that her Mr right is just round the corner.

The Beach Escape, by Rachel Magee, is the story of the new life found by Dr. Molly Lawrence, DVM, when she begins her short stint as interim veterinarian while the actual veterinarian is out on maternity leave. After having discovered that her former fiancé and business partner was cheating with her former best friend, Molly felt working with this organization would get her away from an unendurable position. So with little notice when the expected baby makes an unexpected early appearance, Molly finds herself in a small beachfront condo in Emerald Cove, Florida, and figuring out the ropes of the new office.

The last patient of her first day is listed as Chompers with no other information. When she calls the patient and person to the exam room, Molly finds only the person, Grant Torres, and an offer for a ride to the Emerald Cove Turtle Rehab Center in the adapted turtle ambulance. It seems the vet she is substituting for also works with the rehab center and Chompers needs a final exam in order to be ready for release. Upon her first visit to the center, Molly is reluctantly on board, unsure of her own skills, to be their on call vet while she is in Emerald Cove.

The center is a family affair with Grant as the director, his sister Claire in charge of the rehab, and his cousin Mateo in charge of operations. Plus, Grant lives right out back on his large sailboat tied to the dock. The Rehab Center was created by Grant’s parents and when they had both passed, Grant returned from the university where he was a PhD candidate in ocean studies. At that time his sister was a teen and he could always pick up where he left off, right?

When Grant meets Molly somehow that seems less important until he gets an offer that would be insanity to ignore. Besides, Molly is putting up road blocks even after the many local adventures they share. Plus, she will be leaving anyway, right?

This is a delightful story with understandably flawed characters set in a background of a seaside rescue. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

Thanks, NetGalley, Hallmark Publishing, and Rachel Magee for an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I liked this book a lot. The writing was really good.

I loved the progression between Holly and Grant. It felt very natural, and not at all forced like some other romance books.

If this was turned into a Hallmark movie, I would definitely watch it!

Chapter 4 and 5 are the same

This is a perfect beach read. Set on the coast it involves two people who have been wounded in love but now have the chance to find it again. But will they give it an chance?
I loved all the turtle talk in the book and how she incorporated them in the plot.
It’s a nice feel good romance, beach style.

If you knew me, which, of course, you don’t, you’d know how much I love animals. One of my favorite animals is the sea turtle. I loved going to the Jekyll Island Sea Turtle Center when I would visit close by. Seems like I always enjoy stories with this wonderful animal in them. This story is no different. I loved spending time at the ECTRR and reading more about sea turtles and the wonderful folks working with them. I felt like I made new friends. The storyline and the characters are wonderful. I hope I get to meet up with them again. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.

One of my favorite holiday traditions is to order takeout with my bestie and watch cheesy Hallmark or Netflix Christmas movies while her husband is at work. So when Hallmark publishing gave me an ARC of The Beach Escape by Rachel Magee on Netgalley, I dove right in. (Pun intended)

Brokenhearted Molly Lawrence works as a traveling veterinarian, filling in for doctors all over the country when they are out of office for an extended period of time. When Emerald Cove’s vet goes on an early maternity leave, the latest chapter of Molly’s life starts early. Thrown right in, she treats the towns pets and then is called upon to examine sea turtles at the Emerald Cove Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center. The Rescue and Rehabilitation Center is headed by Grant Torres, a marine scientist a few credits away from his PHD. In exchange for Molly’s agreement to fill in at ECTRRC, Grant agrees to show her around town. Molly helps rescues turtles, and Grant helps rescue Molly. While her assignment is temporary, she falls in love with Emerald Cove and wonders if it’s really best to just keep moving on. Grant, offered his dream job, studying the turtles at sea with his former university wonders if he can really leave it all behind.

A Hallmark beach read, with sea-turtles, main characters I’d befriend it’s the whole package.

This one is out August 9th definitely one for your beach bag!

Sweet, fun, romantic, clean...all around winner!

This is my first book by this author, but I can't wait for the next. I just loved Molly and Grant's story. They bonded over the mutual interests of the love of animals, turtles in particular. Grant gives Molly the courage to venture beyond her comfort zone, and Molly, resistant at first after a bad breakup, starts to feel comfortable enough to open up.

When Grant gets the opportunity he's waited for all his life, will Molly have the courage to give the relationship a try, or will she cave in to her old insecurities? Please read this book to find out, you won't be sorry!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

The Beach Escape is a perfect summer read if you love beaches, warm breezes, cool drinks, and sea turtles. Set in the lovely Florida Panhandle on the ever-popular 30A, this story is about a place with sugar white beaches, emerald waters, great community, friendly people, and two people brought together at a sea turtle rescue and rehab center. After a failed engagement, Veterinarian Molly Lawrence decides to become a traveling Vet filling in for those on leave. She hits Emerald Cove for a three month stay and then plans to leave with no connections, but she didn't plan on getting pulled into making friends in this small friendly town and especially meeting Grant Torres and his sea turtle rescue where she met lots of adorable rescue turtles. Grant is a good friend, helping her step out of her comfort zone to try new adventures. Grant is ready to move on to take on a research job and finish his doctorate so no problem. They are both about to leave town for a new venture. But maybe things are not as clearcut as they seem. This a sweet and light read sure to make you smile, especially if you like a good beach read.
I received a complimentary copy from Hallmark Publishing and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.

The Beach Escape, by Rachel Magee, is a sweet, clean, contemporary, Hallmark-esque romance.

The story follows Molly Lawrence, who after a recent breakup is trying her hand at spontaneity as a new itinerant vet. Her first assignment is in the picturesque Emerald Cove, Florida. After her first day of work, Molly finds more adventure than she expected when Grant Torres walks in from the local Turtle Rescue, Rehab and Release Center in need of a vet to do a well-check on a sea turtle so it can be released back into the wild. This is definitely outside of Molly’s comfort zone, but she steps right in and completes the task anyway. After a tour of the facilities, some dreamy days spent sailing on the water and viewing sea-life up close and personal, and time spent with the charming Grant Torres, Molly is smitten. A relationship between the two quickly ensues and both find themselves relinquishing past fears and facing decisions and dreams of their futures.

This story at times, lacked a bit of momentum, but the characters are relatable and likable, the community is supportive, and the setting is delightful. The Beach Escape has a relatively simplistic plot, but it’s also scenic and summery and a light-hearted, feel-good romance.

I liked that for a Hallmark book the main characters got to know each other as friends for an extended time before considering romance. I liked that the characters were adults and had established careers that were important to them. I liked the friends and family.

But I do think that it's possible for Hallmark characters to kiss more than once in a book. The "almost kiss" that leads to weeks of separation, miscommunication and angst is just too overdone.

The title does not go with the book. This book is 75% about turtles. Maybe Turtle Together or Two to Turtle would be more appropriate? Seriously, Kindle tells me the word turtle(s) is used 305 times in this 336 page book. It's a lot of turtle.

*I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher and I am required to disclose that in my review in compliance with federal law.

As I read this book, I felt like life slowed down, stress floated away, and just enjoyed the small town where everyone got along and looked out for one another. Molly, is a traveling veterinarian and takes a position in Emerald Cove, Florida. At the end of her first day, she meets Grant who runs the Emerald Cove Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center and asks Molly if she will be their vet while she is covering for Dr. Lacey. At first, she says no, but went with him to check on one loggerhead turtle. When Molly is out on Grant's boat with him, they get a call that a turtle is struggling because he has got caught in something. When they arrive, Molly has to get into the ocean and Grant tells her what she needs to do in order to get the stretcher under the turtle. She really connected with the turtle and when they got back to the rehab center, Molly named her Hope. She finds it hard to walk away from the turtles so agrees to be the temporary vet, but instead of pay, she wants Grant to take her on excursions. I enjoyed their adventures, the turtles, and the life they were living.
I received an ARC from Hallmark Publishing through NetGalley.

This was a perfect summer slow burn romance. It would be perfect to read by the pool or even better, by the ocean. I simply adored the turtle rehab and all the turtle action. There was a little lag in the story here and there, but it was a really enjoyable read.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for an ARC copy in exchange for a review. All thoughts out my own and not influenced by the providers.

Molly Lawrence’s life is turned upside down when her fiancé dumps her for her best friend. She decides she needs to get out of town and signs up to be a locum veterinarian. On to new beginnings, Molly decides this new version of herself, Molly 2.0, will be more adventurous as she takes a position in Emerald Cove, Florida. One rule is that she does her best to not make any ties and a relationship is off the table since she will only be there for three months.

Grant Torres is one of the first locals that Molly meets when he comes in looking for her to examine a loggerhead turtle. Grant runs the Emerald Cove Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center and asks Molly if she will be their vet while she is covering for Dr. Lacey. She is apprehensive since turtles is not her specialty; however, the turtles quickly win her over as does Grant. The center doesn’t have a big budget, so in lieu of getting paid, Molly asks Grant to take her on excursions/adventures so that she can experience and get to know Emerald Cove. These adventures help Molly step out of her comfort zone and begin to heal her heart.

I am a huge fan of Hallmark, and this story doesn’t disappoint. I would love to see this book turned into a movie!

Thank you to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for allowing me to read an ARC of this novel. #NetGalley #HallmarkPublishing #TheBeachEscape

The Beach Escape by Rachel Magee was a very clean, sweet, Hallmark romance. Basically picture your typical Hallmark movie, and here it is in book form.

Personally I loved it, I know that people generally don't like basic Hallmark movies but its my guilty pleasure and so of course I loved this too. It was an easy, cozy, light read and I loved the veternarian and Turtle bits of it.

I would recommend this book to any one looking for a easy read and for those who love Hallmark romance movies!

A sweet, clean, summer beach read. Molly Lawrence comes to the Florida panhandle as a temporary vet to cover while the local veterinarian has a baby. She isn’t obligated but she finds herself getting involved with the Emerald Cove Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center. After helping out once she agrees to provide vet visits in exchange for the director Grant Torres showing her around the area. She something a couple times a month. Molly is fresh off a broken engagement and is challenging herself to try new things.

Grant embraces the idea and there are cute outings aboard his sail boat, before dawn turtle patrol, watching the sunrise from a lighthouse and even her own turtle rescue. This is a very wholesome read but it jumps to feelings too quickly. Grant after a week can’t imagine his life without Molly. And I think the love word is used before there is even a first kiss. I know this is a Hallmark book but there can be kissing on these fabulous dates without it becoming more.

I love the turtles, the main characters, the small town, the outings, the family and friends but the romance was only tepid warm for me. The epilogue does give a very sweet conclusion. Thank you to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
