One evening, one party, one murder... one night to remember for the rest of their lives.
After receiving a generous inheritance, Hannah's mind is set to see the world. Her family and friends have mixed feelings about her plan, nevertheless, they all gathered together to give Hannah a farewell party, aka good ole girls' sleepover. The party is filled with food, booze, games, and light drugs. In the morning, the gang discovers that one of their girls is dead. The group decides against police involvement, as each person had something to hide from law enforcement. But no matter how hard they have tried to hide all the evidence, police have quickly found their way to a strange group of guests.
What an exciting read. I loved the connection between all the characters. The phenomenal, mysterious plot and the twisty reveals were well done. The story had me captivated and I really looked forward to knowing what was going on and how the novel would end. It is hard for me to comprehend the action the group has taken. Maybe it was a shock that guided them to that plan. Nevertheless, I was happy when despite giving the word to keep up with the lies to protect the group, Hannah gave up and decided to uncover the mystery of her friend's death. This is my first book by Kerry Wilkinson, and definitely not the last. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture publisher for a free and advanced copy of the novel.
The Party at Number 12 was a fun thriller! I enjoyed listening to it and didn’t find it too scary. It’s the kind of book where you expect a twist, but I didn’t see it coming.

Title: The Party At Number 12
Author: Kerry Wilkinson
Rating: 3.5/5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (rounded up to 4 stars on GR, Netgalley and Amazon)

This was a very entertaining story. This is told in a dual point of view from Hannah, the main character and a man named Zack. I really enjoyed how you received two different perspectives of the story that was being told. This was a short and quick read, the pacing was pretty much on point, but there were just a few parts where the pacing felt a bit slow for me. I was able to listen to this on audiobook and loved the two narrators. They were able to narrate this story perfectly.
•
There were a bunch of twists along the way. I though the author did a great job at constantly pointing the finger at different characters throughout the story so that you are never truly sure as to who committed the murder. I was constantly changing who I believed was the culprit and in the end I was left shocked because I definitely did not see that coming. The ending was wrapped up nicely to where all your questions about different characters were answered.

Overall, I enjoyed this read, it was short and quick and easy read with a very interesting storyline and ending. I definitely would like to read more of this authors work. The Party At Number 12 just came out on March 11 so be sure to check this one out, it's available on Kindle Unlimited.

I have never read any books by this author, but I was intrigued when I read the blurb.
I really enjoyed that we found out very early on what had happened and how the 'guilty' parties try to get out of the bad situation. I found the characters to be interesting and the narrators were convincing in their roles.
The twists were often unpredictable, and while I had an inkling about the reason for the murder, I certainly did not guess who did it.
I will certainly seek out more books by Kerry Wilkinson in future.
This book was full of twists and turns and literally had me guessing until the end. Highly recommend. A girls night gone wrong. That will have you guessing until the end. Absolutely loved this book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was an easy listen about Hannah’s party gone wrong. Sadly, I went from loving the beginning to slowly losing interest. After one guest is found dead and the remaining guests make a plan to deal with the aftermath I started to find the story unbelievable. The decisions they made didn’t seem to make sense.
Though a fan of thrillers I just couldn’t grasp on to this one. Thankyou to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the advanced ARC and chance to review.
My first Wilkinson novel. Like the writing style. The narrators were great. I think once I turned my my brain off to hiding the body of a friend. I let the story happen. Great bread crumbs through out.
Big thanks to NetGalley and Kerry Wilkinson for letting me review this maze of a novel!
I listened to the audio version of this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. The story is a bit far fetched, which person in the right frame of mind would get rid of a body even if to protect their daughter?? Only in a book or movie!!
The narrators were very pleasant to listen and made the story all the more enjoyable.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for letting me review this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
Gripping listen with a fantastic narration. I really liked this one and would love to see this portrayed in maybe a show. Original story and the narrator does a fantastic job of setting the mood throughout.
Hannah is about to go travelling and hosts a leaving do with a group of her friends and family at a rented house. After a night of drinking and some old tensions rearing their heads, one of the guests is found dead the next morning. Is it just a tragic accident, or is one of the party to blame?
I like the narrators of this audiobook. I liked the male/female split for the different viewpoints (Zach/Hannah) and I think they made the best of what is, really, an exceedingly daft plot.
From the very start I just could not get my head around the choices the characters made - their reaction to finding the dead body was inexplicable. One of the party reacting this way would have been understandable, but a whole group of women just seemed absurd. From that early point onwards, I found it very difficult to take the story seriously, and the ending of the story (how the death had come about) was particularly silly.
The other trouble was that there were a lot of female characters introduced in a very short timeframe, and as such, I did find it hard to remember who was who, although I don't know how that could be avoided in the scenario of this story.
Overall, I didn't mind listening to this audiobook, it was entertaining enough, despite being a bit silly,
With thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this audiobook in return for an honest review.
I can’t really explain why I didn’t enjoy this book, but I actually gave up on it about 1/3 of the way through. I just couldn’t get interested in either the characters nor the story. I also found the narration rather soporific.
With thanks to #NetGalley for this audiobook to review.
Thank you to NetGalleyShelf and bookouture for the early listen. Two stars. Didn’t care for the narrator. Hard to tell which character was speaking or thinking.
A modern take on a murder, hide the body and pretend nothing happened and swear everyone to secrecy. But the truth always comes out in the end doesn't it? few twists and some complications along the plot. Quick read for me as i tried to work out the ending, whodunnit? Thank you #NetGalley for the audiobook to review.
This was an exciting whodunnit mystery story to listen to. It was entertaining to not just find out what had happened to the one party goer that had not survived but also how the other 7 would deal with it. Would they go straight to the police or would they try to cover it up?
I didn't really love any of the characters, but because the story was entertaining and contained twists it didn't really matter. The characters were realistic and flawed. Not a single one of them was perfect.
I definitely had not seen the ending coming so a good listen in my books!
I liked the narration to this story it added an extra dimension and an extra degree of tension.
The story itself was very addictive and I really enjoyed it.
I was given an advance copy by netgalley and the publishers but the review is entirely my own.
BLOG TOUR REVIEW
Review for 'The Party At Number 12' by Kerry Wilkinson.
Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Kerry Wilkinson, Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous
Publication date 11th March 2022.
This is the third book I have read by this author. I have previously read 'The Child Across The Street' and 'The Child In The Photo' which I would also recommend reading.
I was originally drawn to this book by its eye catching cover and its intriguing synopsis and title. The synopsis stated that this book is 'An absolutely unputdownable thriller that won’t let you sleep until you’ve reached the final page! Perfect for fans of Lisa Jewell, The Hunting Party and Shari Lapena.' I am a huge fan of Lisa and Shari so am looking forward to seeing if this lives up to this statement. I am also a huge fan of Kerry and if this is as good as 'The Child Across The Street' and 'The Child In The Photo' it is sure to be an excellent read. I must admit I was also biased due to the publisher being Bookouture. I have yet to read a book published by Bookouture that I haven't enjoyed. Hopefully this won't be the first... Watch this space! (Written before I started reading the book).
This novel consists of a prologue and 45 chapters spread over 3 'sections'. The chapters are short to medium in length so possible to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!
This book is based in England, UK 🇬🇧. The bonus for me of books that are partly or fully based in the UK is that I live in the UK and have sometimes visited places mentioned in the book which makes it easier to picture. I have actually visited England on several occasions so am looking forward to seeing if I recognise anywhere that Kerry has based the book on.
This book is written in third person perspective and the main protagonists are Hannah and Zack. The benefits of third person perspective with multiple protagonists are that it let's you see the bigger picture of what's going on and you get to know more characters more, what they are thinking and what they are doing. It feels like you get to see the whole picture and not miss out in anything.
Well, well, well Wow!!! What an absolute cracker of a book!!! This book sucked me straight in from beginning to the explosive ending. It was very well written with excellent descriptions which put me straight into the storyline. The blog and the cover suited the book perfectly.
WHAT THE HOLY SMOKES DID I JUST READ!!! ABSOLUTELY GOBSMACKED!!!
The storyline was fast paced and filled with drama, lies, twists, family, shocks, deceit and suspense. A sadly and scarily very believable storyline which kept me on edge throughout. I loved all the twists and turns and throughout it kept me guessing what was going on and who was doing what. I would NEVER have guessed at the ending so a MASSIVE WELL DONE to Kerry . I have read many thrillers and it's getting harder and harder for me to be surprised so great job there. I loved the storyline and just loved everything about it. It was all done perfectly!! I loved the fact that everything was tied up and explained at the end and there were no loose strings. An absolutely addictive page turner that kept my heart in my throat on the edge of the seat and absolutely absorbed me. The fact there were so many different red herrings and so many possibilities that all would have worked perfectly and then the absolutely EXPLOSIVE ending that there was no way I would have ever expected was absolutely fantastic!!! I could not put this book down!!! I was so invested in the storyline that I was up until 2am!! I would LOVE to see this turned into a movie!!!
It is set over multiple time lines. When books show what has happened in the past and what is happening in the present I find it really helps the reader (if it is well done) understand why things are happening and what has lead to the present activities and decisions. It also shows the bigger picture.
WARNING ⚠ DO NOT START THIS UNTIL YOU HAVE CLEARED YOUR SCHEDULES AS THIS BOOK IS ADDICTIVE!!!!
THE characters were fantastic, solid and completely believable, or are they?? You just have no idea who to trust and wow was I blindsighted! They all had such different and strong personalities and all suited the storyline perfectly. I really liked Hannah , she had such a strong personality and my heart really went out to her as all she wanted was a nice send off with family and friends and deep down she wanted to become the three musketeers again along with Sophie and Katherine. There were such a mix of personalities in number 12 and its hard really to say too much about any of them without giving too much away!!! My mind was absolutely blown when I discovered what really happened and yours will be too!!
CONGRATULATIONS KERRY ON YET ANOTHER ABSOLUTELY ADDICTIVE PAGE TURNER!!!! THIS IS WHY YOU ARE ONE OF MY TOP 5 MALE AUTHORS!!! HERE'S TO YOUR NEXT SUCCESS 🥂
Overall a compelling, page turning, mind blowing psychological thriller that will keep you up late at night.
Genres covered in this novel include Thriller, Mystery, Suspense, Psychological Thriller, Noir Fiction, Psychological Fiction, Police Procedural and Crime Fiction amongst others.
I would recommend this book to the fans of the above as well as fans of Lisa Jewell, Shari Lapena, C. L TAYLOR and anyone looking for a book with a twist they will never suspect!!!
349 pages.
This book is just 99p to purchase on kindle via Amazon or free on kindle unlimited (at time of review) which I think is an absolute bargain for this book!!!
Rated 5 /5 (I LOVED it ) on Goodreads, Instagram, Amazon UK and Amazon US and on over 30 Facebook pages plus my blog on Facebook.

THE PARTY AT NO.12 by KERRY WILKINSON.
Thrillers are a genre that I don’t often venture into, but something drew me to this book.
Hannah and her two sisters have recently inherited a significant amount of money from their grandmother.
Hannah plans to use her windfall to go travelling.
Before she leaves, she is convinced to rent a luxury house for the night, to hold a small leaving party.
As Hannah and her closest female family and friends gather for a night of fun, one of them will be dead by the morning.
Who is the killer?
How, and why?
This is one night that will change all their lives forever.
I must admit, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I liked Kerry Wilkinson’s writing style and the story moved along at a good pace with lots of twists and turns.
I also liked that the characters were realistic. They were flawed and troubled in their own ways.
The ending wasn’t obvious, and I didn’t guess who the murderer was. It was good to have that, ‘oh’ moment as all was revealed.
A solid 4 stars from me for this gripping page turner.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
With thanks to #Netgalley and #BookoutureAudio for an ARC of #ThePartyAtNo.12 by #KerryWilkinson.
Excellent narration by Andrew Kingston and Tamsin Kennard.
Available now in paperback, audio and ebook.
THE PARTY AT NO. 12 - KERRY WILKINSON
⭐⭐⭐/5
Thank you so much to @netgallery and Kerry Wilkinson for the ARC audiobook of this novel.
"Hannah smiles at her guests. In this grand house rented specially for the evening, everyone admires the sparkling chandelier and raises a glass to say goodbye before Hannah moves away from this little town for good. But the next day, one of them lies cold and lifeless in their bed…"
This was book was very much a slow burn mystery and you don't find out who was the murderer until the very end.
The narrator was my main roadblock and I found myself not captivated as much as I think I would be if I read the ebook.
Overall I enjoyed the plot and the slow burn nature of the storyline.

I enjoyed listening to this story as an audiobook. The narrators bring all the characters to life and create the suspenseful atmosphere of the party and what follows. Once you get to know the characters and their relationships, this is an immersive listening experience. The tension builds with revelations from the past and the police investigation. The final scenes are surprising.
Many of the characters are flawed and difficult to empathise with, but the mystery engages the reader and makes listening to just one more chapter essential.
I received an audiobook copy of this book from Bookouture Audio via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
Narrators 5 stars
Both narrators did a great job with this book
Stroy 2.5 stars
The story was ok. The circumstances and reasons why they didn't call the police just weren't believable to me. So from that point forward it was hard for me to get absorbed by the story.
This is the first time I've tried this author and I would definitely try another book if the price was right.
