Gia Acquaviva returns in the third installment of Mermaid of Venice and she hasn't changed one bit: she's still the sexy, frivolous, selfish and ruthless killer mermaid.
The truth is that I'm reading this series not for its quality, but out of pure curiosity: Will Gia ever redeem herself and repent? What will happen to her daughter? And many other questions.
The only truth in the summary of this book is that she is not the typical Little Mermaid from fairy tales.
I thank the author and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
The opinion I have expressed above is based solely on what I think and feel about this book.

Mermaid of New York is the third novel in the series entitled Mermaid of Venice Series Book 3. I have enjoyed each book, and I feel that the writing is better in each novel. This novel focused on Gia's Revenge. she must travel to New York to take on Royce and Bronwyn Langley. She has chosen to make this battle very public. While she is battling with the Langley in New York she finds her casino empire is under attack by her Greek relatives. Is there any way that Gia can pull her empire together and survive the onslaughts from all directions? Can't wait to read the next one!!

Thank you to NetGalley for sending me the third book in this series. I think this one was my least favorite of all. It was definitely full of drama and resolved a lot of the current conflicts, while also leaving the reading wondering what happens next. I found it a little difficult to track whose side certain characters were on. I think it was meant to keep the reader wondering if someone who seemed bad was actually good, but it left me more confused.

It's a quick read, so that was good, but it could use a little more clarification considering they are talking about mermaids and their world so it's hard to really understand all the rules.

Freaking heck this series keeps getting more and more good. Kept me pulled in to it.
Couldn't put it down at all. Highly recommend this book. 5 star book.
Planning on rereading this book next year. Already told some people about this book that they need to read it

2.5⭐️

Overall, this was a decent read not as slow paced as the other books. Felt kinda of the same as the previous book. However, this book/series is just not for me. I hope other people will enjoy it more than I did.

Thank you NetGalley and publishers for this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

A little of the same as before, but for people who enjoy a good solid fast read these books are great! I recommend to diverse reading people.

The world keeps on getting more and more interesting now that politics of both the worlds have clashed, and on one hand the media is overpowering and on the other the religious fanaticism.

Amongst these clashes, Gia is the one suffering the most, for even her daughter is snatched away from her and only her constructed image can sway the decision in her favor now.

Talia is a hilarious character and I have come to appreciate La Nonna more in this book.

A rather interesting and engaging read. Would recommend to anyone who wishes to escape from the monotonous world into a very very happening one.

Can't wait to read the further books in the series.

-Spoiler-ish Review-
Read at your own risk.

“Nobody fights for their own like the queers”
There are so many things in this book that had me laughing. Mainly Talia. Like just her talking had me laughing because even though what she was saying made sense. It’s just how she was saying it, I respect it. Dumbing down publicity for us. She's a visionary though, have to give her that.

@jincey not you calling TikTok, ‘Klik Klak’. Love you for that.

Before I continue I'd like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for a chance to review the third installment.

Gia is back and she’s back as a mother with her empire slowly crumbling. Everything is just going up in flames. Literally. Well not literally but the whole world is one big shit show right now. And I feel like this review is going mimic that.

There’s SO MUCH GOING ON. Let's try to stay focus.

Gia is now a celebrity, something that she never wanted. But with the way how life is treating her right now, nothing is going the way she wants it to. Her in-laws are still crazy, but now add a baby to the mix and it's amplified. Everyone is fighting for a scoop of either Gia or mermaids. Riley ??????? Idk Imma just leave that there. She's... an interesting character.
Florent… idk man. He’s a villain but… that line he said to Louisa when he decided to pursue her… it did something to me. It was straight to the point and made his intentions clear. Well… not the FULL intentions but majority. But in the very same breath, Florent needs to be washed in holy water. And just be taken away from human society in general. He be wilding. But!!!!! Cliffhanger ending.

Even though I think Gia is a girlboss sometimes I wanna hold her by the shoulders and shake her really hard. Not that she’d allow me to do that but it’s still something I’d want to do. But according to Talia and I quote “Girlboss is over. We hate that energy. Mkay? Like, we need to fully ‘Princess Diana’ you.”
Which I disagree with because princess Diana is a girl boss. Did you see the revenge dress she wore.
Anyways reason why I want to aggressively pinch Gia’s cheek is because she’s SO entitled, and like I get that she rich and what not but if you’re asking for help, and you want people to stay ‘loyal’ in a sense wouldn’t you want to… idk be a little bit nice ?? Side note: Queen Awa did what she had to do and I respect it.

Anyways I digress.

Dimitri seems to be the only sane person her. So I stan him. He’s morally grey but he has sense. Also that social worker. She was doing the damn job at putting Bronwyn in her place. Queen Awa made it to the list of people that seemed be keeping their cool.

The fact that Bronwyn herself is contemplating teaming up with Queen Zale. Damn. That’s saying a lot. Also Queen Zale is slowly becoming more unhinged.

P.S. I’m all for saving the animals but damn I kinda like chik-fil-a. ALSO!!! You see the domino effect from the first book??? I still hate Kostas for that, I would very much like to punch him.

P.P.S. One thing I forgot to talk about the fact that these books are written from omnipresent POV where you get an idea of what everyone is thinking and you don’t have to wait until a certain chapter or the characters POV to see what going on, you just get it.

This book even though it felt all over the place was still a nice read and made me raise an eyebrow alot. Can't wait for book 4!!

This third installment of Mermaid of Venice did not disappoint.

Gia Acquaviva is now in New York fighting for custody of her little girl, also a mermaid, from Cameron's crazy parents.
When you think you have a handle on the kind of person Gia is, she then slowly grows within the pages. All the characters have evolved in some way or the other, both positively and negatively, that teally matches the plot.

I devoured this book in one day, it was so good. Jincey has managed to maintain the fast pace thrill, that makes you keep turning the pages.

And the epilogue? Wooow! Seems like a full out war between mermaid and man has begun. This would make a great tv series, it's a well crafted and exciting read.

Thank you again to the publisher, the author and NetGalley for allowing me to read this.
Another step on Gia's story, which I'm loving so much. All the Serena custody story was really interesting but the last chapter left me curious about the war happened in the mermaid "world".
Also that epilogue... So curious to see how we get to that point in the story.
Can't wait for book 4.

I picked up all three books in this series after reading the back cover blurb and being very intrigued by the unique mermaid premise. I went into it thinking that it was going to be a wild romantic action adventure but I was very wrong. This is not the little mermaid grown up. This book is a dark psychological thriller with a killer siren as it’s main character. Gia lives an ultra extravagant life in Venice, but despite the modern woman persona she displays she cannot escape her bloodline. The ancient siren blood causes the bloodlust she feels, leading her to kill her lovers.

Gia is a new mom and danger lurks around every corner. She is trying to raise her daughter and run a business, all while fending off the baby’s grandparents. The structure is very similar to the first two books and follows much of the same plot skeleton. The mermaid world is just as crazy and chaotic and Gia is trying to navigate the human world as well as her own.

I’m not usually a thriller fan and it wasn’t what I expected at all but I did ultimately enjoy it. This one didn’t hold me as much as book two. I’m not sure if I will continue the series when the next installment comes out but I would be willing to try.

Mermaid of New York had an intriguing premise, but was a bit slower paced than I thought it would be. This is a much darker twist on the beloved Little Mermaid classic. Gia’s out for revenge in this one. I thought it would be something I’d love, but this wasn’t for me.

Gia Acquaviva is back and this time she is taking on the Langleys as she works to get custody of her daughter.

I really liked it. It was fast-paced (per usual given the other two books) and it was interesting to see the next chapter of the Gia Acquaviva story! There was literally so much action, I read it in one sitting! And with that very interesting epilogue, I'm really excited to see what's next.

Would recommend it to anyone who likes a fast-paced, action-packed read that continues a series while seamlessly introducing new characters.

Gia Acquaviva is a beautiful and rich Venetian woman with a portfolio of clubs and casinos around the globe. She also has some dark secrets - she's a mermaid and an keeps an underwater graveyard filled with the bones of her former lovers. Her family’s roots descend from the mythological sirens of ancient Greece, but she’s taken every precaution to protect her anonymity and the existence of other mermaids. Unfortunately, her secrets are all out in public now. She's been accused of murdering her first true love and father of her just born child. Her business empire is under attack by her own kind. She's just escaped the grip a crazed Sicilian mob boss who was intent on making her a spectacle and revealing the existence of her kind. Now she's building up public support in the hopes of keeping custody of her daughter. But she's facing an uphill battle, and some of her past secrets are still working their way to the surface.

I'm so glad I took a chance on this book series - I don't read a lot of fantasy, but I was too intrigued by the comparison to Killing Eve to pass it up. Mermaid of New York is the third book in the Mermaid of Venice series, and each book is a novella or short novel that serves as a chapter for our main character in whichever city the action is taking currently set. I really liked how easy these books are easy to pick up and read in just one evening without interruption. They are very fast-paced, so there isn't a lot of words spent building up the action or scenery, but I didn't really mind the lack of excessive page space spent on pretty words. The characters still felt well-developed and the scene set. I also got a bit of an underlying current (no pun intended!) of earth conservation and climate change, which was much stronger in this book than in the previous two.

I appreciate the opportunity to review this book, thank you Netgalley and the publisher. I requested to review this series on Netgalley, after attempting to read the first book and having to DNF due to the dialogue that made me cringe and the mulitple unnecessary sex scenes in the first 10 chapters. I have a very high expectation I would DNF this book too as they are apart of the same series and written so close together they're likely very similar. Again I appreciate the opportunity, and hope that there are other readers who will enjoy this series - unfortunately that is not me.
